Out of all the Gallagher kids, (with the possible exception of Liam, since he was still so young when the series ended,) Carl is the one who did the best job of maturing and getting his s*it together.

Frank was actually a loving father. It’s just that alcohol and drugs, of course, got in the way of it all. This show proves that some addicts are truly and caring on the inside, but the drugs and alcohol makes them a person they normally aren’t.
