Does anybody know why the old original DK arcade cabinets had such a muffled tone quality to the audio? I had one of these for a while that I bought used in the late 90s & the audio was just like this video... kinda muffled. I wish I had taken the line going to the speaker & connected directly to a line input on any other piece of audio gear I had to hear the difference... if there would've been any that is. I don't mind the sound though... adds to its vintage nostalgic qualities.
Good try guessing the guy's name though you play as Jumpman , Mario's father who rescues I think is probably named Pauline Sr. from Donkey Kong Sr. or Cranky Kong , father of Donkey Kong Jr. There's another Pauline that I think is named Pauline Jr. , the sister of Mario & Luigi though I'm not all the way sure about this one. It was my guess since there were 2 Paulines.

Can’t believe how much Pauline has evolved over the years. The graphics have really improved tremendously. All the characters look awesome

Well that theory is already debunked.
Because Nintendo confirmed that jump man and Mario are the same person.
Even Mario Odyssey confirms this.
but the cranky part is still true

Id love to one day see the Colecovision version of this released sonewhere
I have it on my MAME arcade from 'The Arcade Guys'. I love that version, but like it was back on Coleco, it doesn't save high scores.

She looks so similar. Danny thought so too as a kid.
I hope they shell out the money to bring this & JR. to Arcade Archives!

The Nintendo Donkey Kong VG character Pauline; has always changed her appearance, she use to have blonde hair and indigo blue eyes.

Mario should be known as Player 1 and Luigi should be known as Player 2. Pauline should be known as Princes Toadstool.

Mario and Jumpman are the same person. Same thing as Pauline. And they're not "sisters."
If I’m not mistaken, this very game had introduced the Mario brothers for the very very very first time.
Not really, Luigi was introduced two years later.

Why did you just give up at the end?
The game is endless. So I just played as much as I can. Did not bother to show the killscreen though.
It was set via dipswitch settings where you can set to a maximum of 6 lives.
I suggest you google search arcade dipswitch to look it up. That will answer your question.
You know there is a kill screen once you beat 256 stages.

After L=21 the game is ending automatically... I did that for at least 20 times... Only, that was Crazy Kong...
