    4 spoons of sugar wtf. Before seeing this, I regarded vietnamese salads as very healthy :D

      Sugar isn't inherently bad for you, its bad in excess. But yeah a lot of vietnamese sauces have a ton of sugar.

      You could always modify and use less sugar, to taste. Could also sub in alternative sweeteners, all or in part.

    Traditional would also have a dash of fish sauce and fresh Thai Chili. Looks awesome mate! Mirin to replace the sugar is also a great modification. The Thai version also has thinly sliced celery. Very very common in Thai and Vietnamese salads.

    It’s awesome ! I added fish sauce to marinade of carrots & daikon and 3 diced bird eye chilies. Toasted sesame seeds& crispy shallots as well. The dressing is subtle with a zing of heat from the chilies.

      @@SchoolofWok ...... Very good of you to reply Lee, but if I may be blunt, I would suggest that the vegan eat a vegan salad elsewhere : perhaps at a McCafe. It is somewhat ludicrous when a vocal minority hold sway, and we, your channels subscribers, see Jeremy prepare a dish in a non-authentic manner. I hope this vegan finds alternative employment, lest we see a tofu based pork substitute used in a future recipe ( I am being serious, but I am also laughing a bit ).

    Can anyone tell me the Vietnamese name of this salad?

    • @user-tn3qb9rs7g
      @user-tn3qb9rs7g 2 года назад +1

      There typically some meat like grilled pork or something so the name for that dish would be Bun Thit Nuong, Thit Nuong meaning grilled meat. Typically Vietnamese noodle salads like that can be made with a variety of noodles, vegetables, and ingredients. The thing that truly brings it all together is the sauce.
