- This film is a test to create a fictional archive document representing the sinking of the TITANIC
There is no known footage of the actual sinking. Simply put, it wouldn't have been practical to have done so. The equipment was cumbersome and motion picture and ordinary photography in 1912 required large amounts of light to produce a useable image. Despite what the movies depict, there would have been little on-deck light. Setting off magnesium flash powder would have undoubtedly been noticed, and no one mentions anything of the sort happening during the sinking.

il n'existe aucun film d'archive montrant le naufrage du TITANIC en 1912, bien que les caméras existaient à l'époque. Il n'y a donc pas de vidéos connue à ce jour du naufrage. Autrement dit, il n'aurait surtout pas été pratique de le filmer. Le matériel était lourd au cinéma et en photographie ordinaire des années 1910. Il fallait également de grandes quantités de lumière pour produire une image utilisable. Malgré ce que les films reconstituant le naufrage représentent, il y aurait eu en réalité peu de lumière sur les ponts. Le flash de la poudre de magnésium aurait sans aucun doute été remarqué, et les survivants ne le mentionnent pas pendant le naufrage.

The movie used a mini scaled version of the Titanic that was only about 50ft for the splitting and a 400ft model for the other scenes and they only completed 1 side so when you saw the Titanic from the left side(looking at it from behind) it was flipped. And it never went vertical until it reached 1K ft (the Titanic was 882 ft long) in the movie ot goes vertical right after splitting and in real life it split in front of the 3rd funnel in the movie it split BEHIND the 3rd funnel so those FACTS make this video REAL. Im joking its not real its footage from another movie called A night to remember BUT There is still a very small chance that that is real

It is not real audio. The audio used in the Pathe news report is fake audio used to fill in for the silent film they shot. Pathe news did not have a sound director that day. Real audio of that disaster is in the Herbert Morrison recording, and an edited version of real audio is heard in the Fox Movietone report.

Correction: from the report of the disaster, not the disaster itself. Pathe news regularly used sounds in editing for their reports and likely did here, because they did not have a sound operator on crew that day. However, Fox Movietone did have a sound man and an edited version of real audio can be heard in 2 of their 3 film reports, and you can also hear the ship crashing (though mostly screaming) in the background of the Herbert Morrison recording.
I really don't understand people who are actually saying "FAKE" in the comments since...I actually said it's a "fictional archive document", the clips are from the making of James Cameron TITANIC (1997) and A NIGHT TO REMEMBER (1958) ...I really don't understand what is the goal of all your "fake" comments...since I already said many times with the video title, the video description AND in the comments of the video that IS fake... Color films had been around since 1888, it was extremely rare though, the first color ‘film’ was the Annabel serpentine dance.
These clips are from the 1958 Night to Remember and 1997 Titanic. The only thing making it seem real is it's edited to look much older. Camera's back then wasn't something to run around and carry while the ship you were on was sinking.
The old RUclips video quality really makes this look authentic

This fascinates me: the very idea is fascinating and has been expertly executed that if it had happened, then this is how I think it would have been recorded. It fascinates me in the sense that do not know really what happened, but this gives us a new perspective. As a descendant from survivors and victims of the sinking, I must applaud you on this.

It was impossible to have photographed the sinking because back then the average shutter speed of a camera was 1/30, the average bright aperture was f-11, and the brightest ISO was ISO 16. In other words, even daylight shots could turn out dark sometimes. A night shot or even indoors would be impossible, and the only one on board with a camera was Francis Browne but he got off in queenstown, titanic’s last stop before NY (it stopped twice between Southampton and NY. Queenstown is now modern day cork Ireland).

I will say it again. Pathe news used studio recorded sounds for their footage. The only real audio of the Hindenburg crashing is in the Herbert Morrison recording and the fox Movietone recording. That is not real audio, but a recreation. Pathe news did not have a sound operator on their crew call that day.

The clips with aerial POV seemed to look like they could have been shot from further back on the angled ship. None of the clips are so far in the air they look as if they were shot from an airplane.
It is so sad to think about that so may young kids and people passed on the titanic, scared, hopeless and no where to go, the ocean is so scary because of how deep it is and strong, Rest In Peace
