    I find it unreal that hes convicted of 1st degree murder And Second Degree murder, 2 murders and still is going to be eligible for parole in 40 years.. the first degree murder alone should be life without parole never mind a second degree murder conviction.. I’ve never heard of anybody who commits 1st degree murder being eligible for parole

  • @devenbergeron155
    @devenbergeron155 Месяц назад +12

    I found this on google :
    In Massachusetts, the minimum sentence for first-degree murder is life in prison without parole for adult offenders. First-degree murder is the most serious homicide offense in the state and can be defined as:
    An intentional killing with premeditation
    A murder executed with extreme atrocity or cruelty
    The killing of a person caused by the commission or attempted commission of a felony that can be punished by life in prison
    So why in the hell is he going to still be eligible for parole? Not only that he’s got another murder conviction..

      Different weights are considered in each case. Lopes’s lawyer argues the science from various Doctors who evaluated him and cites case laws; that is how one talks to the court. Courts cannot go against case laws that have already been adjudicated because case laws are facts. They help guide other courts in how to sentence, judge, or rule. This is what due process is, whether people agree with it or not. This is how cases are handled.

      Being eligible for parole doesn't mean he's gonna be granted it.......
      After he sits in prison year after year decade after decade with the thought of being eligible for parole as your only comfort is an amazing sentence considering after all that time served he will NEVER be granted it.......THAT'S AN AMAZING FEELING TO THOSE IN THE FAMILY OF THE MAN HE TOOK!

    Are you kidding Auntie Bev! This guy absolutely deserves LWOP, he can’t be rehabilitated, and should never leave the prison walls, unless he goes directly to a mental institution for the remainder of his live after his prison sentence. The children of the deceased officer, who will be in the middle of their lives, possibly raising their own children, should not have to live in fear that this deranged person could be paroled, and living out on the streets where they live. I’m not even mentioning the innocent woman who was murdered, and the impact this could have on her family members because I’m not familiar with them.

      Are u lost? This is the sentencing for killer of Sgt. Micheal Chesna & Vera Adams, and its long overdue. Maybe u aren't intentionally being disrespectful & just aren't familiar with the process, but officers in uniform are usually excluded from the gallery during trials in general to keep jurors impartial. (Officers can attend in plain clothes.) With that said; why not post your comment under a video related to the death of Officer O'Keefe? Plenty of ppl could've explained that a sea of uniformed officers were present at those pretrial hearings. Don't you think our community has been damaged & divided enough without posts so ignorant, disrespectful & off topic?

    Well, long story short....he was born & raised in Massachusetts.....a little town called, Weymouth!
