The Resourcefulness skill is underrated. This allows you to obtain additional ammo each time you rest in a shelter. For the entire squad, it is a maximum of 4-5 ammo resources at the cost of 1 tool. It's a better alternative than 1 extra ammo at the start. This is a useful ability if you plan to re-land on the map itself, because the extra ammo from the crate will be lost when you return to the base.
@@MistaFiOth You sure? I mean you have to rest anyways. So why not stock up on ammo there? On the other hand I don't seem to run low on ammo also. But I'm just halfway through the game. Things might change later. Guess you already beat it.
@@WatchMysh you use a ton of ammo early on in Hard difficulty, the pulse rifles and smart guns burn sooo much ammo in the first two missions. and as the game gets harder, the aliens get more HP and you have to use more ammo to kill them. but late game, once you have heavy pulse rifles and plasma rifles, you kill much more efficiently and the ammo consumption goes way down, especially if you are using command point skills to defeat enemies without getting hunts. the last few missions i was walking past ammo crates because i already had 20+ in reserve as i would mow down aliens with little consumption, but that also goes with planning engagements and using sentry guns down to low double digit ammo counts before reloading them.
Iron Will is probably the best. No tired/Exhaustion debuff for any reason. Had a Rusty marine with the bad trait of coming from missions exhausted. Picked Iron Will, still have Rusty but the marine just ignores it and can do intensive training, multiple missions back to back, etc.
Be awesome if their traits tied more into the otagos drama after missions. Like klypto got beat up cause he stole to much or clumsy tripped and sprained ankle. About the basic perks pouches is hands down one of the best starting perks. Battle spirit is a good one as well when paired with a radio sargent you get six command points.
The sergeants radio backpack gives you an additional command point without having 2 marines with the team spirit perk. Also the charismatic bonus also gives some early passive boosts to stress reduction. The honour ribbons as well work for the sergeant by giving him a bit of a minor boost to bravery. I always use the radio backpack and it's upgrades.
Accuracy is the best upgrade. (lets do simple math) Your medic has 35% ACC / and we assume every shot does 1 DMG So every 20 shots, 7 hit, 13 miss = 7 DMG now +5 ACC (40%) 8 hit, 12 miss = 8 DMG (some people be like that's not much.........) It's 14,3% !!! more DPS
i would say pouches is first on two marines and ammo bags is important to have on at least two marines every time after. get two marines with pouches and then two with ammo bags so you start with 6 capacity tools and 6 ammo. after that you need the suppressive fire upgrade and then can go for more utility with things like accuracy and stuff. i would also say to never pick up ammo crates after you get 10 ammo in reserve to save it for later if needed, unless its in a area you wont be going back to for certain. also i would say at least one person, two is better, in every deployment should have resourceful for the free ammo with rests. more than two per team isnt really needed as better weapons will use less ammo later on and you really only need a little help keeping ammo up so you are not clearing the map of all of it and the upgrades are better for other things. on missions i had 3 marines with resourceful, on hard, i was evacuating with 15-30 ammo and leaving ammo crates everywhere. once you get the heavy weapons and enough command points to spam free kills without using ammo, your ammo consumption really drops using mines and snipes and a bit of patience.
@@MistaFiOth i guess playstyle can have a drastic affect on ammo consumption. especially if you are intentionally pulling hard onslaughts for the XP gain on every level vs being sneaky and avoiding increased aggression as much as possible

Dismember and redemption are the best skills/perks imo. Anyway, to get the skills you want or to avoid some lame ones, if you have marines that leveled up, use REST feature (weld a door) or an elevator before you evacuate to ARC. I think it’s better to wait till your Marine is lvl 3 before you start buying them perks. Top priority should be getting a medic and second a tecker and start giving them class-only perks. Having a medic that can heal wounds, revive a squaddie, and reduce stress will make missions so much smoother and having a lvl’ed up Tecker will allow you to open doors to create shortcuts or supply rooms thus eliminating the need for extra pouches or ammo. Once you have those two classes I do recommend giving your other marines the perks you listed.
It might come as a surprise, but the Medic is actually the most lackluster Class atm. There's a discussion going about whether or not they should be able to also heal stress. Tecker is very important though, I have to agree with that.
@@MistaFiOth i got a lot of use out of my medics late game, the passive heal on rest and 30% stress reduction on heal were pretty legit. mostly the passive healing though, for all of the acid sprays and saving med kits for when you really need them. i honestly didnt get much from the teckers, teh tool savings were not that needed for me thanks to careful use of tools. probably helped that i would reload if made major mistake though, like lost multiple sentry guns of something or lost a marine over something dumb

True... Get that Redemption ASAP.
Game is much more enjoyable than fireteam elite, I’m loving it
You prefer RTS games over Shooters?
@@MistaFiOth I enjoy both genres but the atmosphere in dark descent is more well done
@@Oniontrololol hands down way better. Fireteam elite starts off fine and then becomes boring shit show.
I would like the video but it is currently at 420 likes and I don't want to ruin the moment. I'll come back later.
Dayum son, blaze it!
It is now 421. Like deployed.
My man! o7
Damn this game is hard. I'm getting my ass kicked.
What setting are you playing on, mate?
Marines s@ck!!! But Me with vraki ...i'm OP.
Aspeeda & Vrakee = One Combo To Rule Them All!
@@MistaFiOth and sometimes when i get sweaty,i put my vraki on my shield to dry
xD xD xD
Terrible underthought video. Looter is a terrible Perk, the cost-benefit does not add up at all, you get plenty of supplies by being thorough and you are wasting valuable level up perks that could go to effects that increase the marines potency in combat.
You came into this video, that's helped thousands of people, after more than a year, to type this? Sheesh...
