I like tekker. The drone lets you scout ahead and if you but a gun on it you have another weapon in the fight. Not as good as sargeant or gunner but I usually bring one.
And before that it was AvP2. Man that was my favorite multiplayer game for a really long time. Also it had a really good, narrative single player campaign as well. I think it’s available for free now in a fan community version-the studio who made that one got broken up so hard that it turns out nobody owns publishing rights for any of their games, so they’re all up for grabs.
I'm only at the point in the story where you (first?) go back to Pioneer Station. Mines have been my best friends up to this point, and they've only just now started crippling aliens instead of outright killing them. Personally, I tend to use mines the way you suggested using motion trackers. Every time there's a lull and I have command points, I'll usually be placing a mine or two in a chokepoint. Might not work much longer though. We'll see.
Yup, I have the same experience with mines. They don't break stealth and for some reason the explosion doesn't attract enemies so you can use them at any time. They are also very useful for protecting turrets. Sometimes they are janky near doors though, if you put them right at the door, they can trigger without damaging alien walking through that door. Now I put them so that trigger zone just barely touches the door and they work fine.

Umm... Can you at least go over the hud? Those litle white dashes above the green bars?
I thought I did during the combat section? My bad if not. The green is hp and the white is armor. HP can be healed during a mission but armor cannot.
