Sorry to disappoint, but I’ve seen not 1 but 2 shorts of the legendary Federer Nadal rally at AO 2017, and that is indeed the most mindblowing tennis point I’ve seen today 😂
mind blowing is hyperbole - these are professionals after all, but this is a nice point. Fed drew del Potro in with that short ball and Delpo made a superb, reply couldn't be better, approach shot deep into Fed's BH corner and Delpo followed into the net and made the volley. It was the approach shot that earned Delpo the point.
@@user-jv9qz2bu1r it's a very impressive point from a player's perspective. The variety and precision from both sides is high grade. Fed's drop shot was too weak in this point. It cost him the point. Professional or amateur -- good tennis is good tennis. Just because Federer does Federer things, doesn't make Federer things less special. Maybe predictable, but never mediocre
Federer made at least two mistakes in this point, the first was the inverted forehand from an awkward position and without being able to hurt Delpo, and then the last terribly executed side spinned drop shot... I don't see anything special about this point 🫠🎾
No audience were against Roger, they would just also cheer for Delpo, Rafa, Murray at home especially.. Don’t remember how the Davis cup crowds were but that would probably be the only scenario were a crowd could think to do such a thing.
That's why variety of shot is so crucial. Delpo had difficulty with first forehand slice. Delpo is a smart player & quickly clued in to the next shot which I'd call a hybrid f/h slice-drop shot. It appears Fed became hesitant in his choice of shots this particular rally. There's a rumor Roger is actually just another human. I'd take that rumor with a grain of salt. 🫢
How did ever win any tournament or slam if he didn't win from 40-15? Not sure. Maybe his $550 million came from..... selling toothpicks outside Wimbledon.
@pauljohnson6019 2019, specifically, is the only one where one could blame him much. That is not a high-quality approach shot to come in. He has made the same mistake again and again against Djoker, Murray, Nadal, Wawrinka, etc. As if they are not great players with ample talent to hit that straight forward passing shot. It was incredibly unfortunate. Tactically, Federer never had to be great, because of his talent. That's where a great coach could have helped.
@@DLH-zw3lx Yes, in the semi finals, he made that same mistake, against Nadal, and lost one of his match points. If Nadal could pass him on grass, then how much easier would it be, for Djokovic to do so? A simple patient rally, until he got the opportunity to attack, and explode, would have done well, as he was winning more of the longer rallies, terrible tactical decision, and his serve was complete cack, when he got taken to deuce, even then, if he had hit two aces or unreturnables, he would have still won the match.

🤣
I was there in person, 3rd row. It was fucking phenomenal
This final was incredible
At his best, Del Potro was always a player who had a complete enough game and confidence to push or beat Roger at his own game.

This point blew my mind when I saw it. The point is too fast, too various for just to be "a nice point"
Horrible dropshot

Los dos tienen un slice increíble!
That second left hit by Roger is incredible! Pure wrist
Not mind blowing at all, just saw an exhausted Federer here after exchanging many shots
Bad cross court drop

Delpo, at least of the top players, and apart from Rafa, was the only who could drive the audience against Roger

Fed here just going dumbly inside in forehand way out of position to delpo’s weapon and gets punished
AO 2017 Finals?
Es raro ver a Federer sin ideas....
Top play !

Master!
Dell potro won this match
Thats not federer ....i guess ....i am not sure ....
Nothing to see here, fed hit a bad drop shot so the other dude came in and crushed it. Why is this a video? Definitely not mind blowing in any way
Seems like he's getting desperate for content
Give the other "dude" his due, that's Del Potro and not some nobody.
@ i didnt notice it was him ya hes a beast but still just a good approach off a bad drop shot nothing crazy
So everything what happened before Federer's bad drop shot doesn't count? 😅
@@lightssoftennisthey hit some topspin shots and some slices before, it’s not crazy bro
Federer lost so many points due to poor drop shots.
seen 1000 more interesting & varied points. have you ever watched tennis?
40-15, he couldn't make it when it mattered.😢

@@DLH-zw3lx He was under a jinx, it seemed, the pattern happened twice, 2010, 2011, and then in 2019, only God could mess him up, like this.

Pathetic rally. Troicki can do better. Fededer is 3rd best
