The Tuya integration will be an absolute game changer for me...

Govee is HUGE, super excited about that

I like the look of a lot of Govee stuff, so being locally controlled is even better.
      They are not cheap though.

I'll definitely need to investigate that deprecation of the Proximity integration because I use that a fair bit.

Proximity still there, the change i migrating proximity setting to the UI, replacing the yaml settings. In my case, all my settings got imported and my work was to manually remove the yaml.

Will need to keep an eye on the change in TP-Link integration.
It's probably a good idea to limit the polling of ALL the 'energy data' (I have some HS-300 devices and I am not permanently interested in the power consumption of ALL of the power users).
But I have some automations that depend on sensing a drop or spike in power consumption of a power user.
For example my stereo amplifier and chromecast device turn on when an automation senses that the TV is using power. (And off again when it senses the TV is off)
    Thanks for the heads-up.

Might want to use a 2024 calendar.

😄 yes. I don't have a calendar myself and can't afford to pay for b-roll yet. Nice spot!

My TP-Link sockets HS100 have always been naff in that they will randomly disconnect and then reconnect despite having a good signal. Altering the beacon timing helped a bit but still didnt totally fix it.

      Glad you found my channel!
For Home and away detection I use the Home Assistant Companion App on our phones.
I do also use iBeacons but haven't done a video on that because it's quite bespoke and I think it wouldn't be suitable for most people. Particularly for bigger households.

The Tuya integration for me stopped working every 6 months as I had to go into Tuya IOT and request another 6 months. Apparently, this new way does not need renewing. I will confirm on 3rd October 2024

Ah I see that's annoying. I didn't even give it 6 months before I got rid of it.
Look forward to your update in October! 😄

I think that some bugs are still being ironed out, but you can give it a try if you wish.

If you want a stable HA then you're probably going to need to wait a bit longer.
