You said it my friend - except, no Gordon Keith is the most underrated, undiscovered, comedic interviewer on the planet, ever - and undiscovereds don't go on Mt Rushmore - but he deserves to be there. He's the absolute BEST at what he does and I wish he was was still doing it.
That slight indirect yet absolutely masterful dig at JB with the “what was it like to work with jack black?” Even JB couldn’t hold himself from laughter from how good that was, bravo Keith, bravooo
A pattern I've seen amongst his interviews is: All the comedians and comedic actors try desperately not to break, but do, early and recover. And most of the drama actors just laugh freely and continuously at him.
I think Gordon Keith is an underrated comedic genius. Just look at this video, or his interview with Gwyneth Paltrow, D. Shepard and K. Bell, Zach Galifinakis etc. You know someone is good when he can make Steve Martin and Jack Black laugh out loud!
For sure! I've read somewhere that Steve Martin was damn near impossible to make laugh, and some people were intimidated by him because he hardly ever breaks characters. I feel like the only one who can make Steve laugh besides Gordon, is probably Martin Short especially as Jiminy Glick.
@@zackmoore1351 "veteran newcomer" was never said, thats from the video description. Hes talking about when Gordon asks Steve Martin what it was like to work with JB
The emission of short bursts of light from imploding bubbles in a liquid when excited by sound causes Sonoluminescence. Thanks for the physics lesson Gordan! 🤓
it's harder with three because to have this work, we need to lock in to one person's emotions, response...like a "guide" sort of. is crazy guiding three people. guide what? oh...to uncontrollable hilarity, of course. not easy, but Gorgs da man!
Gordo...you OWNED Owan Wilson in this interview. Not one question or reference. And then you delivered the death blow with .."Hoyt Axton's mother." LOL
While I agree Gordon is a comedic genius, it’s hard to compare him to big time Hollywood comedians. They literally have to live that persona everyday with everyone they meet. It must be maddening if you really think about it. Gordon is able to pick and choose his comedic presence depending on the situation. I think this is one of the several reasons he never wanted to go big time.
...and the alternative to doing this interview was the scheduled "Gordo's Corner" on Sept 30 with Gregg Rolie (Santana/Journey). Next time, Gordon...next time.
Steve Martin and Jennifer Love Hewitt are both from Waco, Texas. They were probably even in the same store, just not at the same time, due to their age difference. That has to drive Steve Martin crazy just thinking about it.
He says "injury salve", which is a topical skin ointment used to heal damaged, bruised or irritated skin, ligaments, and muscles. It's often used by blue-collar workers.
These are old, but I agree. He needs to come back and do these without acknowledging the shtick. Either way, just come back and do more, because these are great.
Either way, both really funny guys. It’s kind of its own genre of comedy now. Eric Andre and some segments of Tim and Eric also have awkward interview segments. Just like music, genres build on each other. Mad TV was obviously inspired by SNL but had some super funny stuff nonetheless, ya know?
dammit....that was actually an easy physics (more biophysics, I would guess) question and was more of a word game: prefixes and suffixes, kids....that and Greek and Latin roots. It wil help you understand a lot of things by understanding the language used to describe it. so, he asked "what causes sonoluminescence?" well, bioluminescence is light (lumin meaning light) created (essence being 'to be') created biologically (by a living being) so, sonoluminescence would be light created by sound (sono...like sonar). .....🤷♂️ I'm not a smart dude, I just know English a bit and a tiny bit of science....but the question was pseudo scientific, which is perfect for a pseudo intellectual like myself. 🤪
Completely agree. The interviews are brilliant but the announcement before hand is as though he doesn't trust the audience to 'get it' and kind of ruins it a little.
You have to realize this was years ago before this style of comedy became popular. Being on an early morning news show, 99% of folks would miss the joke if it wasn’t prefaced by that...
If I were Gordon, I would want on my tombstone:
"Give him one more minute"
- Steve Martin
Always the actors want to scape from this movie interviews and have dog face. This is an historical event. They liked his strange humour.
@@xilo3012 Exactly. Much like Hot Ones, they want to promote their product but do something different.
Forget Aristophanes. Gordon Keith is the fourth quarter of the Mt. Rushmore of comedy.

What a talent Gordon Keith is. So quick on his feet, always has a funny comeback. Would love to see more of this guy.
Wow Steve Martin, give him another minute is so fucking boss

Possibly the most severely underrated personality out there
Possibly?? Definitely!!
Steve wanted him to stay..that had to feel good
The other comedians asked for more time with Gordon!
Didn't Sean Penn ask for more time with Zach Galifianakis?
I think Gordon Keith is an underrated comedic genius. Just look at this video, or his interview with Gwyneth Paltrow, D. Shepard and K. Bell, Zach Galifinakis etc. You know someone is good when he can make Steve Martin and Jack Black laugh out loud!

That Sheppard and Bell Interview was one of the best things I’ve ever seen
No one expects Gordon Keith
@@MemberWhenand whoever Willem Defoe is dragging around these days…..
When a King of comedy gives you more time you're good.
gordon i hope you know you're the real father of this entire new wave of comedy
It's sad that this interview is funnier than the entire movie they are talking about.
That movie is fun more than it is funny
I love the movie.. funny and entertaining.
"What was it like to work with Jack Black?" I don't know why that's so funny
"physics or how well you know your co-stars" Gordon understands the psychology of how people will take the bait.. absolutely brilliant.
Jonathan Wilkinson lmao yes, and then he hits them with a ridiculously hard question. So funny.
"Veteran Newcomer" LOL
That look on Jack Black's face after the question to Steve Martin is priceless.
I noticed that as well, despite the NES quality of the video. That was great. Even Owen had to keep himself from laughing.
Timestamp please

I feel like Gordon intimates people because how sharp he is

not easy, but Gorgs da man!
Make no mistake: Gordon Keith is a COMIC GENIUS.
Gordon is the man.
yes, he is a man
Brian Dennehy smells like power tools and brisket. LOL.
Gordo...you OWNED Owan Wilson in this interview. Not one question or reference. And then you delivered the death blow with .."Hoyt Axton's mother." LOL
I don't know that - what is it referencing?
how is it possible that your channel doesnt have more views and subscribers??

"How does he get away with that in front of three funny men like those guys?" Because he's funnier than them.
This is one of the few films that I've seen, not stoned or anything, completely sober and remember NOTHING absolutely nothing about it.
The description to this is hilarious 😂
Holy shit, I’ve never even heard of this movie.
I'm guessing no one else did either
the man has cast iron balls of steel
"Thank you for saying so..."
Should have said that Charlie Daniels was the answer to the sonoluminescence question.
Gordon Keith seems obsessed with smells. He's always asking what people smell like, haha.
The comedian of the comedians.
I've never heard of this movie. Like ever.
Owen Wilson is just enjoying this whole thing.
Yep the first bird watching comedy done together
...and the alternative to doing this interview was the scheduled "Gordo's Corner" on Sept 30 with Gregg Rolie (Santana/Journey). Next time, Gordon...next time.
CLASSIC GENTS!
I love Gordon Keith (Musers)!
I have seen The Big Year many times ... love it.
I’ve never even heard of this movie 😂😂
It's so weird he asks them what sonoluminescence. He is way before his time.
Do these again.

@bish73 Thank you for NOT saying "FIRST!"...
What does Gordon say at 2:17? "Injury Sav"?
He says "injury salve", which is a topical skin ointment used to heal damaged, bruised or irritated skin, ligaments, and muscles. It's often used by blue-collar workers.
The news people analyzing his comedy style at the end ruined it
Haha, for the birds.
_"Veteran newcomer Gordon Keith"_ roflmao
so funny they go back to those two stiff fake hosts after that cool ass interview lol
Jack Black looks like a young Seth Putnam here.
Gordon rocks!
Where is Gordon now???
Zach Galifianakis looks way different clean shaven.
He must stop introducing these as awkward, makes it seem too contrived.
Otherwise very good.
These are old, but I agree. He needs to come back and do these without acknowledging the shtick. Either way, just come back and do more, because these are great.
Yes Gordon, please come back
He acknowledges the awkwardness to invite his guest to play along
he owned em...
Can you hear the voices in the background?
That's from the movie clips
"what was it like to work with jack black" .-.
Really Originl interviewer.. I thought he would have millions of subscribers. Damn
...and that's what makes it more funny.
2:46 It sounds like someone just threw something in a cartoon showo
so this is where Galifianakis got the idea for between two ferns? damn it wasnt even an original idea smh
No between two ferns came out in 2008. These were after.

Aristophanes lived way before the us even existed tho lol
Stop saying awkward in your introduction! 😤😤😤
Oh wowwww wowwwww

i think saying its awkward makes it a lot less funny
yeah, I don't know why he has to say that haha. Maybe coz a lot of people won't understand that it's not serious

No it doesn't, that's part of the bit.
I think it makes it funnier, since it acknowledges the shtick

Jeez, Don't start by saying that it's 'awkward'. That makes it less awkward.
jack is high as balls
Jack Black is the least funny & most irritating human ever.
Idk Gordon’s humor seems like multiple failed attempts.
