I just smiled today when you said (as you always do) “If you find value in this video, please tap the like button, etc etc…”. I just tap the like button as soon as as I open one of your videos-I know I’ll get value, and then some! Today I found out about Drafts, which is an answer to a prayer in my work flow! Thank you!! So excited to start using it! Keep up the great content and presentation, Carl!! 😊
I love this system. I’ve been using GTD since 2010 on and off - lately off precisely because it was way too much planing and organizing and I wanted to be DOING. When I saw your system it immediately made sense! I was already planning everything by time more so than by projects and also I am planning by my FOCUS. That is my priorities that week (which in your system translates to this week, golden 10 and areas of focus) It’s now been a month that I got your course and was implementing everything- and the past two weeks it started to work - I love it ! And am still adjusting it to my own needs - which is also pretty easy to do, much easier than GTD in my opinion! Thank you
Hi Leva, so happy to hear you've found a system that works for you. It's a journey and things will change over time, but as long as you keep things simple, you will be fine.
Yes, that is what I understood from the earlier vid... it is 'context' driven, but nicely broken down, and expanded on. And for anyone here NT collecting the newsletter - I can wholly be recommended, with excellent ideas and even guest writers too - for some diversity.
Thanks for this. You mention Evernote as your digital filing cabinet. You also mention you use Google Drive. Can I ask what you store document wise in Evernote over Google Drive?
Can absolutely say your system has changed how i work. It’s simple and yes it works for me extremely well. I use todoist and a paper based item Full Focus Planner but your method fits across them well.
Hi, @pauldilnot6755 I am a hybrid planner, too, and I am loving todoist as a master that I then bring items from into my paper planner. However, if you have any tips/workflow/ideas of how you balance your workflow in using todoist and paper, I would love to hear them! Also, @Carl_Pullien would you ever do a video on this topic?
Another great show. Wondering how you manage working with people (both subordinates, peers and managers) who aren't organised and don't want to change (either they have no system, or the system they have doesn't work). I feel if you organise for them, then it adds more onto your own workload but if you leave them to it then you aren't surprised when they don't meet deadlines. Perhaps an idea for another video?
Leave them to their own devices - and simply demand the work to be done. It’s their responsibility to figure how. After all they are professional adults. In my opinion.
I don't worry too much about it. I focus on my end of the work and get that done. If I am in charge of the project and someone is letting the project down, I will drop them like a hot rock. (I'm in charge) I won't work with people who are not committed to the outcome we all agreed on at the start of the project. It's harsh, I know, but it's the only way to ensure standards of professionalism are met.
Hello, Carl! As usual, the quality of your RUclips Videos is fantastic! Well done, Sir! A question, however. I am a Windows-centric operator and I'm not familiar with the Apple-centric applications you use. So, can you offer some sense of the corresponding Windows applications for Drafts, Instapaper, Ulysses, and Apple Notes? That would be much appreciated!
Hi Ernie, Instapaper is a web-app, so you can use that on any platform. Sadly Drafts and Ulysses don't work with Windows, but instead of Drafts, Word would do the trick as would OneNote.

Thank you, Karen. Glad you liked it. And Enjoy the brilliant Drafts.

Great explanation! actually, it is a very simple and common-sense system Carl. I love it!
Glad you liked it, Jose.

I love Evernote: went completely paperless; Evernote premium subscriber here
It's a strong workhorse.

That's wonderful to hear, Paul. Glad you've got a system working for you.

Very helpful explanation, Carl. Would you consider doing a video on how you're using Drafts in your system?

Nice!
Thank you.
Why both Apple Notes and Evernote? Yes, confusing
Evernote is far too slow on a mobile device.
