- Hey Beauties! Really excited about this video because of how many requests I've gotten to cover Sanitation and Disinfection. This video will cover TWELVE Sanitation Do's and Don'ts. This will be helpful for you whether you are working as a solo esthetician or for a spa/medical office. I got a lot of these tips directly from the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology website of California. Fav Do: Keep everything in closed, covered containers. Fav Don't: Cupping the product pump. I'd never thought about this one!
I'm a new licensed Esthetician and I just started binge watching you last month since I've recently opened up my own space. Very informative information and I appreciate it!
The "do" I liked was having the clients put their belongings and phone in a tray and have them sanitize their hands before getting on the table 🔥 Yasss!
I also liked the "do" the fact that you write soiled on a container and put all contaminated tools in it rather than cleansing and disinfecting after each client.

My favorite do is creating a closing list to know what we need to do before leaving our place. This list will also help us if we are very forgetful
All your tips were such great refreshers ! I think cleaning between clients is super important ! I too used to spend 10-15 mins to clean everything in between clients but now I’ve gotten it down to 5-6 mins depending on services.
My favorite don’t was don’t leave out any lines, tools etc out. My favorite do was labeling containers with NEW or clean stickers! This video was helpful
My favorite tip is “wearing gloves during disinfectant process”. My favorite dont is “using the products like they’re your own” I am a newly licensed esthetician and I never thought of doing this it definitely makes a lot of sense I will be doing this from no one.
I do love that you use bleach. My favorites DO “NEW”, I’ll get the label maker out now!

I honestly didn’t think to ask my clients to sanitize their hands before getting on the bed! I love that and will definitely be including this into my routine with clients! Thank you Kristen!
I appreciate the reminder about NOT touching the dispenser tip with your hand. It's so easy to want to quickly reach over and one hand that massage cream...but DON'T! Having my disinfectant out on display was another reminder well needed. Thank you!
My favorite don’t was to not let my clients use their phones or belongings. Never really thought about how many germs transfer by them constantly using their items and then touching your bed, door knob, etc! Going to TJ maxx to find a tray today!
My favorite do: have an opening and closing check list my favorite dont: is applying droppers directly on a client!

This video was so helpful! Like I’ve said before I’m currently a student at beauty school. I’m about to graduate & I have so many notes of DO’S & DONT’S for my future references. My fave do is to always have extra for example: extraction tools, towels, sheets. Which will save a lot of time to clean up in between clients. My fave don’t is: to not work on any clients that are experiencing any sick symptoms, and even yourself. Of course always speak politely to the clients in order not to offend anybody. My favourite DO was to make sure you have disinfectant labeled.. Something I didn't know and my favourite DON'T was to touch the openings of products. Something so easily done but so important!! ✨❤️
As much as all your points are important, my favorite “Do” is disinfecting in between clients - and even disinfecting while you’re with your client. In this industry, time is golden and it’s easy to forget such a simple step when you always have back-to-back clients! Especially with what’s going on in the world, we can’t stress enough how important it is to disinfect and there’s nothing wrong with over-doing it either (lol!)

My favorite don’t is to not place used disposables on a clean surface so important!!! My favorite do is to disinfect between clients! I stand very firm on that. Love your videos!!💕

Love the comment about the barbicide certificate. The course dropped around the time I started estie school and my teacher didn’t think it was a big deal bc it didn’t count twds our license...but clients appreciate you going that extra mile to keep them safe so much more.
Some of My favorites was definitely was the opening and closing procedures, covid certification, wearing gloves when grabbing tools of any kind or doing hot towels, and the DONT handle products like it’s your own this was soooo good very informative I’ve learned a lot as I always do def one of the best

My favorite tip was to keep a closing log. I believe this will help you develop good habits in your routine.
Fav “do” putting product in the disposable cups to portion Cintron and fav “don’t” cupping the products spout .. such small details but yet so significant ! Love all your videos ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge xoxo
My favorite DO was putting used tools in a labeled soiled container , I usually just change the towel every time. Will be using this tip ASAP
My favorite is dispensing your products into smaller disposable cups. I’m definitely going to go pick up some extra trays now for my products. Time saver!
My Favorite was to take the Barbicide certification for COVID 19. I’ve been seeing it but something that simple is definitely important and gives our clients a peace of mind as well as refresh our memory on sanitation steps that can easily be overlooked.

I’ve even told friends at school to follow you🤗 but my favorite thing was to remember to wipe down the steamers between clients and how to properly dispense products! My favorite do or don’t is “don’t treat the products like your own” lol 😆 this is a great tip! It’s so trendy to use products a certain way for videos but this doesn’t mean it’s clean or acceptable to do on clients. Love your videos! They’re so informative.

Love your channel. It’s so helpful! I cannot....CANNOT handle watching anyone placing their droppers directly onto their face. I just cringe when I see that. Thank you for addressing it along with having the best sanitation standards. Such great info for all.

The naming of the disposables marking them New, that was new for me. I had just labeled them as what they were... ex: cotton rounds.
The dispensing in disposable cup or tray. I have been back and forth if I should get the trays like in school, so this is my green light to add that to my shopping list!

My favorite part of the sanitation was about never putting a dispenser on directly on a client if it’s a dropper because I see that a lot. The other part was about the products and using spatulas to get the product.

Omg I live the skin script toner! When I had my first facial, the esthetician used it on me and I even bought some cause I loved it. My favorite do and don’t was the open and closing procedures list. We do that at my job (a lab) and it’s super helpful.

This giveaway could not happen at a more perfect time lol My favorite Do of Sanitation is spraying all touched items between each service--I can't tell you how much of a pet peeve it is when I don't see people doing this and a helpful DO I didn't even think of was using disposable cuppies or paint trays to portion out or prep your finishing products. I would normally set them to the side and then clean them later and then sometimes not sure which is what. Keeps it out of the way and no guess work. I also love the towel idea. I’m using paper towel under my work space and you’re right more to throw away. Thank again and God Bless! ❤️🌟🙏

My favorite thing you said was sanitizing your hands after taking a video because honestly at school I saw a couple students, including the teacher, who touched their phones and did not sanitize. They went straight to the persons face 😣 gross

The Barbicide course was definitely a refresher when it first came out and I took that quiz REAL QUICK. It made me realize how much I forgot about the littlest things! I think I'm also going to start doing the daily list of my opening and closing procedures - I only have a list for when I deep clean every week but the daily list will definitely remind me of things that I don't always remember to do!
