I had the immense pleasure to befriend Rolly over the last 20 months of his life. His friendship literally saved my life. The encouragement he and his wife gave me started me on my artistic path. His 83rd(and final) birthday was one of the greatest days of my life, I was able to tell him that I was going to be exhibiting an art piece at Knott’s Berry Farm. While our entire friendship was by correspondence, his wife Marie wrote me back to say how proud he would be to know how he helped me on my journey. Although i never got to meet him in person and thank him, I was able to meet Chris Crump this past October. I don’t think ive ever cried so much in my life. Rolly will forever by the greatest influence for the rest of my life.

It was said of Walt Disney "He had a genius for using other people's genius."
Well, he certainly saw that in ROLLY CRUMP... and as Disney was not known for giving praise or rewards to his numerous geniuses, at least Mr. Crump's legacy lives on in his most iconic design of It's A Small World...
R.I.P. Mr Crump, like the rest of us who remember, you had the very best years of Disney... the company has lost all of it's geniuses now!
