Vehicle Scrappage Policy was announced by PM Narendra Modi in the year 2021. The aim of the Scrappage Policy is to promote the country's automotive and manufacturing industry as well as reduce the level of pollution. This policy is necessary for those who have their own car or bike. The central government had announced the implementation of this policy across the country in the General Budget 2021-22. Under this policy, people will not be able to use 15 year old petrol and 10 year old vehicles. If a person is caught using such vehicles, then the vehicle will be seized along with the challan and it will be sent to scrap.
