april 2, 2024 edit: it is totally okay to make bases from MLP (the show) screencaps. **this is what most base makers do!** if you're going to make a base from an MLP vector, please do ask permission first. lastly, never make a base from an individual's original artwork.
also, i can only speak in english and tagalog. it's very hard to understand some of the comments even if i translate them 😅 i'm considering turning off comments soon

Can you explain why you do different colors you video helped a lot I just don't understand the different separation process.
@@deadcatbeats5400 I feel like you "have" to do different layers so that you can color them easily, and the results will look cleaner. Doing everything in just one layer is a bit tedious, especially when doing base edits.

I dont know why but when I draw over my mlp picture and I hide the picture my drawing goes away too do you know what is wrong

It might be because you are using the wrong brush. When I tried to use the filt tip pen, it didn't work, but when I used the dip pen, it did work! I hope this helps! ❤

No, my phone doesn't support styluses so I use a cheap one with a plastic tip! I also have the stabilizer up to level 10, stabilizer helps a lot.

Hey! I don't know exactly what you're trying to say but:
The bases that you see and use on deviantArt that look like the art style from the MLP series? They all made those bases FROM MLP screencaps, some from MLP vectors (with permission). That's how you make a show-accurate base. There's nothing wrong with it so you don't need to warn me. This has been a thing in the community for years now. Thank you!
Of course, not all bases are traced from the show. BUT most of the bases you see on deviantArt are literally traced from screencaps!
