My favorite tribe. I'm playing an Uktena philodox right now. He is a bit unorthodox due to his ties with the shadowlords, but he tries his best not lose his connection to the horned one ways.
I’m finally playing my first Werewolf the Apocalypse game ever as a Ghost Council Theurge! I wanted to thank your channel for keeping my interest in the setting fresh throughout the long wait 😊
I'm playing a Khan who travelled to a Uktena inhabited area to learn of the balance Wyrm. He wanted peace between all Gaia's children only to go home, and discover garou inhabiting two caerns near his hometown without permission. He uses Uktena's gifts to harass the Garou, and has made an oath to never call them Garou until they apologize, only calling them Gaia's assholes Which is awkward since he is begrudgingly in a group with a Fianna, White Howler descendant, and Get of Fenris garou, only the Silent Strider and Silver Fang have made peace with him
A good job on the Uktena my friend! I also do know about the Uktena that the serpent has deer-like horns and the mortal enemy of the Thunderbird another mythical creature in Native American mythology.
I'm trying out/experimenting with a black Native American Uktena named Aiyana, fresh out of her training wanting to find sacred artifacts that are held in Wyrm clutches, she wants to build bridges and relationships with other tribes in hopes she'll be part of or built a team to help each other find the artifacts and save the Caerns as possible
@@inawe4341 Yeah, I'm playing one similar. A Khan with Tiger and Uktena as totems, who travelled to the Uktena to get closer to the balance Wyrm, and wants unity within the changing breeds. However, he only refers to the garou as Gaia's assholes until they formally apologize for the War of Rage and give up their notion of superiority over the other breeds
My last Uktena, Deed name being “That Asshole” for winning a puzzle game against an Athro Philodox Shadowlord Homid. He was the spy archetype that knew too much and never played “fair”. It is said he failed his rank challenge just to prove the Alpha that he (the Alpha) was wrong about a few things.
Still haven't been able to do any gaming whatsoever but what I can see about myself translating well into gameplay is playing an uktena philodox or ragabash. Mostly because I can play the cunning trickster due to my sense of humor and I'm very good at mediating situations as well as thinking before I act.
This is a story telling narrative system. What im doing right now doesnt even go into the supplementary books which are extremely rich in history. I also haven't covered the FIVE other rpgs that are in the same setting each with their own proper lore and rich history. Vampire the masquerade, Mage the awakening, Wraith the oblivion (really neat concept of a game on its own), Changeling the lost, and World of Darkness. Its the interconnectivity of these games to the whole setting which makes me love this system and the company onyx path publishing and white wolf.
@@edwardburns1986 in wraith your character is a someone who just died. Your spirit it being taken to Stigia, the city of the dead. Your spirit will want to try and resolve some matter that was left unfinished. Decided by you the player. While you go about this, your shadow is trying to pull you into the void. If you go to the void you are lost forever. Also you don't get to play your shadow, another player at the table does.
I have a question, they seem to be all about that using the dark to combat it kind of vibe. Do you think they would allow a kinfolk to become a skin dancer if they got the pelts from enemies of the tribe? Or that they may be able to collect pelts from willing uktena who are going to die so they may help keep their numbers up? It’s a forbidden rite so I was just curious on your take on it for a character concept I have.
From this tribe I would say it likely they would look the other way. so long as they were given willingly, bonus when they are given freely is there is no wyrm taint from the ritual.
Thank you!!! I have an idea for the tribe in my world that has them being even lower in number due to being in a remote area. And a way they adapted was having dying ones give their pelts to the tribe freely and so they have a skinning lodge that’s hidden and a ritual designed to help them find worthy kinfolk as a agent of uktena comes and picks the kinfolk out in said ritual. Makes them die out less and let’s the kinfolk get some more purpose in the tribe. Everyone keeps it really hush hush and the like, and said skin dancers are welcomed into the tribe as uktena since they don’t have that Wyrm taint. I was reading some tribes adopt others in and that just makes sense to me due to them having grown up and been part of it the entire time. Thank you for your feedback! Surprising lack of Uktena videos out there so glad I found this one love your work!

Enjoy walking a tight rope i see.
@@TheMapleTable more back story. His father is a shadowlord and did a good portion of his training.

XD
wait white howler descendant is a thing ? I only heard of it from the Werewolf the Apocalypse heart of Gaia game that canceled.
I played a half African American half Choctaw uktena, it was amazingly liberating and complex.
That sounds like it would have a very detailed character background

You look like Sean Murray from NCIS.
Thanks! I have never had that association before.

A noble goal, although it will be difficult to pull off.
@@TheMapleTable true which in return makes her idealistic and somewhat optimistic despite how much the Wyrm took away from the Garou

Nightwolf from mortal kombat would make a good uktena
I am surprised by the lore from this game, it's not what I would really expect from a werewolf game.

@@TheMapleTable The only one that I've heard of before was vampire the masquerade. What is wraith the oblivion about?
