Good review. Thanks for sharing and I hope that you get these issues resolved with Ring. However, you're right. Customer service/ support is critical, especially on a product like security products.

I started with ring doorbell. Awesome setup 30min tops, product, n packaging. Added a floodlight a little more complicated to install, had an issue. They replaced it. Worked fine. Added 3rd floodlight for back yard. So far so good. Product is user friendly. Had it for years. Crossing fingers. Ty for review and heads up.

I've been a Ring Customer for a long time now and have had nothing but good service with them. I did have a little hick up with my original Ring door bell but Jennifer F. From Ring went above and beyond to help me out with my problem. I suggest if anyone out there is having any big issues deal directly with her and she'll do her best at resolving your problem. Thanks again Jennifer I'll be contacting you soon for new Ring products!
Hope this is helpful to you guys.

This is one of the most sincere reviews I have seen on Ring floodlight Cam. I followed all those paid reviews on youtube and thought the product was as functional as they claim. My experience after I install this camera? Is worst I have had on any product in my life. Like Dylan said, Ring filters out any bad comment on their products. They blocked me out of their facebook page and filtered out my comments. I have had the Doorbell Pro for more than six months and it works very well and, I am using the 5 Gb band, which the customer service agent said they don't recommend. This is okay because my AP is very close to where both Floodlight cam and Doorbell are. On the third day after installation, the floodlight froze and would not respond to anything and there's no indication of power. I called Ring support. The agent admitted she could see my Cam online and started suggesting the fault could be my network is weak. Really? Does the cam not need to be at least on to configure the WiFi? This happened late in the evening. The next morning I just turned my breaker off and on and the camera came back online. The quality of the video is still very poor. Ring hides most of the important settings of this product from the customer. They said their paid cloud subscription is optional but leave you with no other choice of where to store your video. Why can't I store my video on my local network? Why can't I see the IP interface of my product? Why do I have to call the customer support to change video setting from 1080p to automatic or vice versa?

I have the Ring Pro doorbell and the Ring Floodlight camera. So far the only Ring customer service I have had to use is for setup questions, and they have been fantastic at resolving those issues. Hopefully I will never experience the issue you're describing here. Also, Ring is now owned by Amazon, so perhaps customer service for defective devices will improve in the future. What I found in installing Ring devices is that the Ring doorbell required a transformer with a higher volt amperage rating (which is different than the voltage rating), and that some electronic chime doorbells are not compatible with the Ring doorbell (Ring has a list of compatible chime doorbell models.) I purchased both of my Ring products from Costco online (Costco includes one year FREE cloud storage), and the floodlight was bundled with the Ring Chime Pro (both for $239) which extends the wi-fi range. Note that the Chime Pro will only work on a 2.4 ghz network setting. The floodlight cam is mounted under the eave at the back of my home, and my router is located nearer to the front of the house. The light would not connect without plugging in the Chime Pro inside the house, so if I didn't get the Costco bundle I would have had to purchase it separately at a cost of about $50. After setting it up, the Chime Pro can be moved to different outlets to get the best signal, which can be monitored in the Ring App under "device health". The quality of the wireless signal for Ring devices is critical. I would say that anything above -65 could create an issue with connectivity. As of now I am very satisfied with Ring devices, but as with any electronic device, only time will tell.

just had this system less than a week. first 2days , worked awesome. then the doorbell 2 froze, no response, no pic nada. I removed the battery and reset. ok. that works. a few hours later the floodlights cam wont turn off, what gives???. I disconnected and reset. flood light cam still has the lights turning on. this is what I didn't want to get into. I thought sure it's pricey but it should WORK GOOD. TOTALLY WRONG. I think I'll return tomorrow to Costco and try nest. if not I'll hard wire the cameras and get a remote hardwired system that I can check with my phone. tbat way I wont be paying these feess. I wish o found your review before I bought them. thank you for your honest review

Service is EVERYTHING! It doesn't matter how good your product is, if you can't get support when you need it then I would rather not have it......you can have a mediocre product and fantastic service or a seemingly great product and terrible service. Give me the mediocre product. Because at the end of the day I need it to work....I need results. Thanks for your RUclips review. I was considering buying this product.......NO WAY!!!!!

Have had mine a month.. fingers crossed. have nest thermostat that went offline after 7 months. Did what was expected and online chat and sent me replacement right away. hopefully no more issues. still not sure of going to nest outdoor cam or ring. only thing keeping me from nest is price of nest aware.

I seriously doubt that two different products are going to fail at the same time twice. That only indicates a problem with your electric system in your home.

I'm sorry about your experience man. My 2 stick-up cams w/Solar panels and Ring Pro doorbell have been great for over a year for me. I've even caught thieves on camera. I've considered switching the front and back yard to the flood light cam and moving the stickup cams to the side and back deck. Subscription fees are competitive and beat NEST by far. Besides cost, NEST eats too much bandwidth for me which is a deal breaker on my capped internet bandwidth. I gave NEST some feedback a long time about about motion snooze and figured they thought it was silly and ignored and and just recently they've actually implemented the suggestion! So I can no longer be embarrassed at meetings while my wife is making 8 trips bringing in groceries and setting off 2 devices every time she enters and leaves.

    That's what I've heard.
I'd like to talk to you about some of the other elements that made the Dry-Z so unique sounding in the it had that woody hollow midrange sound. If I'm not mistaken I believe the magnets were Alnico 3. Mason also used wood spacers.
The set I need I would like to incorporate these things as well as use a little heavier gauge wire out of the coils and a Green/Moore mag flip on the neck pup.
    What do you think?

I have Nest cameras. Just bought the Ring system for the exterior. Hoping these issues have been resolved. I talked my dad into buying the system as well for his home. I don't know if the resolution on the Ring cameras can be adjusted? With the Nest cameras, 1080 is just too demanding for Wifi, especially with multiple cameras. I have Spectrum internet and pay for the best service possible, I think it's something like 1,000 speed. It's ridiculously fast and even with that, 1080 results in unreliable, spotty coverage. I reduced it down to 720, which is hardly noticeable when viewing the difference in video quality and for the most part, don't have an issue. Just pointing it out as I would guess the same issues could exist with any internet camera system. Hopefully the Ring cameras can be adjusted down to 720. Not sure if that was your issue, but throwing it out there as a troubleshooting option for people to try if they're having any issues.

I just installed the ring floodlight camera it worked great for about 4 hours. Now my phone never connects. Top-of-the-line brand-new thousand-dollar Samsung. Internet download speed phenomenal upload .9 which is what is available in my neighborhood. They tell me it needs to be 4 or above on upload. I don't think I know anybody in my city that has that. I'm thinking this product might end up going back to Home Depot come next week after I talk to my internet provider.

I almost didn't buy this RING camera because of this review!! Instead, I did and I LOVE it!! BTW, their customer service and chat negative reviews is COMPLETELY WRONG!! I called them immediately and they figured out it was my wifi. I even told the guy I talked to (that resolved the issue) how mad I was that you all dogged them here - when my first try was awesome. The next time I chatted online, which was good, then through FB. All options techs were knowledgeable and fast to solve the issue. It ended up being my WIFI that was slow. Good job RING!! I still love mine!!! This guy must be from the competition because they were great with me, and speedy. I bought mine October 2017 online.

Teri Orlando Hi Teri. Being this is 7 months after your post, I believe you are correct. I just purchased the WiFi floodlight security cam a few days ago and occasionally have issues with the WiFi connection. I have ordered a couple WiFi boosters and once I get those, I believe all my issues will be solved. Within the first minute of this video, he says all those devices “failed”. How did they fail (all at once)? Sounds like a WiFi connection issue to me, not the devices.

My Ring floodlight does not come on at night anymore. It was working okay for a couple of months. The Ring representative said that my electrician must not have installed the floodlight correctly. So my electrician is coming back to my house again, $$$, 10/6/2017. I will follow-up here after I test it after dark. Three weeks of emails going back and forth over this one issue. i just want what I paid for or it's going back to Home Depot next week.

When I did get to tier 2 they tried to upsell me for range extender.WTF I already have a rage extender and it is literally on the other side of the wall from the light less than 2 feet And it can’t connect. Ring customer service‘s made me not want to buy any more of the products. Even worse I’m an Apple user. So no HomeKit unless I purchase software and equipment.

I posted all the problems I have been having on Amazon. Amazon rejected my first review. Then, I made some modifications and was contacted by Ring customer service. I've had the camera installed less than a week and had so many issues. I wrote another review and Amazon hasn't posted it. I contacted Amazon and their CS rep. stated it wasn't a successful submissiom which is not true because I got the notice that they would get back to me. Be AWARE that it will broadcast your conversations if you do not close the APP right!! I received a phone call and when I answered I notice I was on speaker so I checked my phone and it wasn't on speaker phone. Then, I went back to the live recording and heard the background in my home. Later that day, I placed a phone call. Again, it sounded as if I was on speaker phone and I checked the app. I closed the app and placed a call. The issue was resolved. Note that the first time I was watching live view and the second time I was reviewing video. I sent the video to ring but still have not received an explanation.

BUYER BEWARE---->>> As a current owner, I can attest to there being two BIG issues constituting a deal breaker for this unit:
    1) After the 30-day trial period of cloud-based recordings ends, you can't even save any videos to your phone. $3+ per month is too much after dropping $250 on the hardware.
    2) Within the app, you canNOT temporarily disable motion detection; instead, you can only "Snooze Motion Alerts," which merely snoozes the alerts & you WILL STILL be deluged with countless stored junk recordings, that'll later need to be deleted. Example: Today I repaired my sister's vehicle in my driveway & when I finished 2 hours later, even though I'd enabled "Snooze Motion Alerts," there were 89 recordings in the "Event History" that I had to individually select & delete! This happens EVERY TIME you're working in the yard, washing a vehicle, ect., etc., etc.!!!
I'll likely be returning this unit & trying the Arlo Pro 2. I the same units for my sister, neighbour & real estate agent/ but they'll all follow suit, as they all share the same sentiment...

jsouto77 we thought so too, but we have 250 mbps Internet, a 1.4 Gigabit router. The capacity is there. We tried a lot of things and the Ring people finally decided it was their device.
