Living here in Miami I see a ton of "Go Fast" boats like the Pershing 7,8 and 9x's. I've had everything from a 21 footer to a 72 footer and there is one truth I've found: You spend most of your time and most of your enjoyment cruising slowly, docking and dining, or anchoring at a sandbar. Being able to do 50+ knots vs 34 escapes me. The journey is the destination as I often say. The more important features on any boat, in my opinion are, plenty of refrigeration (I owned a multi million dollar Azimut and still had to bring cool boxes on board for beers and drinks), storage, ample social spaces, easy handling, and a good connection to the water. I love how this Pershing is taking a great step in these directions. I never really considered Pershing's before but will certainly check this one out. Thanks for the great review Jack!
i had a 70ft as well, being a cheap asian i normally cruise slowly to save fuel but always ended up going about 20knts cause of seasick and just wanna reach my destination asap.
What a beautiful yacht, everything is just perfect the designers are on another level. Which one would I have, this or the X8. Well what a dilemma I would love to have, (Lottery win needed), to answer the question it would be the X8. Great video Jack thank you.
So nice. Not much to pick at here. Maybe the colours inside are just too dark for my tastes but I assume you could choose whatever you wanted. Also, I think formal dining tables are a waste. People want casual so a sofa there with an expanding table probably makes more sense and creates a better vibe connecting to the outside area. That deck space seals the deal though. Could fit a large jet ski and tender on those deck areas and have a great space for tons of people on the water for the day. A+++
Thanks for reviewing this boat! Great review and I’d go for the GTX over the X. It’s simply because the GTX is laid out for how I’d use it. I have 8 kids and 8 grandkids. I’d love to cruise along at 30 knots and have lunch on that beautiful dining table or on that great foredeck lounge.
Such a perfect presentation video. Even with the brilliant layout pictures added in to keep us up to date on where we are. This time even the background scenery is brilliant!
The 115 is amazing and I’m almost as impressed with the 80. I love the combination of a fly bridge and a sunroof. Looking forward to the release of the 70 to see if 10 feet less forces more compromises or if they pull a rabbit out of a hat and they introduce another work of art.
A lot of innovation and some cool use of space. In my opinion it seems to me that some great ideas were envisioned then the rest of the boat was cobbled together to incorporate those ideas. I’m not a fan, give me an 8X or even an 82 VHP over the GTX80 just because of the complete package of those 2 work so much better.
Wonderful video. I'd take this over the X. In fact this is the first Pershing I'd have. Not a great fan of the super fast fuel guzzling boats. Love the design, except for the lack of handles, I hate looking for how to open something. Also love that you mention that the surfaces will be hard to keep clean. You wouldn't take a captain - you'd take a maid to clean all the fingerprints.
The first thing to say about the GTX range is it's more approachable, they've started using fire retardant seats so the fire crews can get closer to it.
Interior design of this pershing is (better than that of gtx116 and) very sleek and sexy n masculine which show why ferretti group is top 3 yacht company by annual revenue on the planet with lurssen n azimut benetti group
yeah....im sure your hired captain will definitely appreciate your investment in the driving experience. a fantastic boat, but none of these maths add up,. and the main deck galley that takeus up 40 percent of the main deck. no thanks.
Such a shame that Pershing is now owned by the Chinese. I hope the brilliant engineers and designers move on to other companies and make more such beautiful creations under some other roof.

That’s great to read, Kevin, thank you for taking the time - Jack

Very nice review as always! Glad joystick driving was mentioned, it is really very relaxing to use when at speed.
Love the strip lighting design motifs BUT I wish they used brighter woods in the cabin. Just feels a bit dark and gloomy. Great scoop Jack and team!
Very impressive, love all the room at the rear ❤️🇬🇧

Much prefer this version.
Great review Jack 👍
I think you would use the GTX far more than the X, though purists may disagree...
Yes agree the GTX80 is following the popular trend for getting closer to the ocean.

Good choice!
Great tour, Jack, and congratulations on being one of the first to review this beauty. Definitely the GTX for me over the 8X.
Thanks! - J
Great review Jack and team.
Heart would have the 8X, head would choose the GTX - not sure which would win the battle.
Looks like we need to do another PropGear video with Pershing😅 Thanks Nic👍🏼
@@Yachtbuyer great idea! 😁
That would be worth watching

Thanks for the kind words, it’s a team effort for sure! Glad you enjoyed it🙂
Great video as usual 👏👏 Like a good Pershing I would choose the GTX80

Great interior
Gorgeous Yacht ❤❤❤❤❤
The boy in me says 8x, the family man says the GTX. The innovative side of me says we need a GT8X - for go fast dads👍
BZ Jack - as always, best reviews.
Much appreciated!
Jack, today I am suffering from a deadly sin: ENVY!! 😂( hey, it’s still almost 40 mph on an 80 footer 👌)
Quite something, eh? - Jack

Thanks Chris 🤝
I prefer the X8 , but what is the price difference? Also the fold down sides on the GTX very nice. great review.
Thanks!
Thanks Jack
No problem Chris, thanks for watching 🫡
@@Yachtbuyer You're the best Jack. A real class act!
It's proper, proper, proper! And it's proper, proper, proper, proper! Which makes it proper, proper, proper, proper!
The first thing to say about the GTX range is it's more approachable, they've started using fire retardant seats so the fire crews can get closer to it.
The lighting on the ceiling of the owner's cabin looks like Eddie Van Halen's guitar
Would PPF be a good idea to keep the dining table free of fingerprints or at least easier to keep clean?

GTX 80 for me
It seems that, if there is an area who works in Italy, it's the nautical, how many shipyards there are?
Price ?
6 million Euros
Like some of the dark..wood (let’s hope it is).But it’s to cold and strict…Scandi style? (As a 🇳🇴Im still not a fan of that fashion’😏)
Shaped like a Coupe sportscar. But has a flybridge ala Destroyer.
Lovely fast boat and tour but disturbing to hear it’s now Chinese owned and a violent authoritarian government . Thanks Jack.
Good...
how much is this ?
Damn thats beautiful,how much.❤😊
What is the price
Its literally written on the video…
🤩
This one
8X

Or they could just carry on at pershing like grown ups.
(Evidently Steve Fitchett is a communist)
