A year ago or so, I set up Teknoparrot to play Star Wars Battle Pod. Everything worked except the Brake which simply was not possible, no matter which key I assigned. I tried it with the Xbox Series X pad, but no brake function in game. Sure, you can play it without the brake but in order to achieve proper scores you have to brake. I'm pretty familiar with the original arcade machine, so I immediately noticed. There seems to be no YT tutorial addressing this particular issue. Have you tried the game? Is there a flightstick with throttle controls that works with Teknoparrot?
@VideoGameEsoterica makes sense. But , you know, id rather pay three digit sum in dollars as a single purchase (couple of hundreds of dollars maybe?) than pay each time when you want occasionally once a year play some hotd, time crisis or aliens with your aimtrak/sinden lightguns for just an hour or two. And besides, what if the guys will just vanish someday leaving us with nothing to preserve? I feel more secure about such things when i know i can back this stuff up any play it anytime i want.
I believe it was part of how the control hooks work. When my discord did software for Akuma and Castlevania windows defender would get angry too. Basically you patch ram on the fly (it hates that) and then you basically are checking key inputs for the game controls in a manner that might be construed as a logger (windows defender also hates that) But it’s 100% safe software. I’ve used it for years
I can see why you have a bit of sore spot for Akuma. TP stole "the spotlight" with a paid version? WTF? Butt, I looked for your version had a bit of trouble finding it. (Compared to TP dumps that were everywhere) Finally found it (and PBX!) downloaded extracted it and it didn't work just started and black screen back to homescreen. But was exact opposite for PBX. So keep in mind most ppl with any sense want your version. It just didn't work for them like me, or they had 0 idea you even had released it.
Castlevania, Akuma and PBX controls were the work of my discord. They then put them behind the paywall. So there was a moment there in which yeah I expressed “ugh” but it doesn’t negate the fact they were avail for all for free and first. But I’m not a grudge holder. People asked for a Teknoparrot tutorial so I made them one :)
I guess they are cool with me now? They retweeted the vid. Which I appreciate. I have no issues with them. It’s just that if my discord solves the issue of controls and can make a small app to make it all work you know it’s always gonna be free for everyone :)
Thanks for doing this video because alot of people are having problems with setup. Also I wonder using this method on steam deck because I want to play tetris the game master 3.
Jennifer That must be why I have trouble getting Outrun 2 to boot. Jennifer/Jennifer I'll have to see if the version I have is complete And if I even still have it
To be honest, expecting arcade emulation for free makes no sense. Once you know how expensive arcade cabinets units are, modern arcade cabinets can cost up to 15k, not to mention the amount of work it takes to make the games work per system and let's not forget the security they have to deal with in order to make the games playable. I wish they had one time purchase but then again arcade emulation is too expensive and not everyone has the skills to make them playable on pc, implementing online multiplayer on arcade games takes a lot of effort as well. I'm no programmer and I'm not affiliated with any of them but honestly they deserve subscriptions, besides people tend to pay patreon to game reviewers and they get nothing but a shout-out, at least I get something from Teknoparrot. Plus now they are giving more games and still regularly update the games for bug fixes, crashes etc. if you want arcade emulation for free then make them playable on PC for free and good luck.
No its atuly 6 Teknoparrot Sargent is the first tear $6 dollers one ativation key. Tekno Colonel $12 dollers two activation keys its on the Teknoparrot Store and goes all the way up to $250 dollere a month.
Unfortunately, the discord community is completely awful. I recommended that they give those who lost the month's subscription during the hack that they offer a free month with whatever new system they decided to use. They booted me off of discord and I can't access their channel, patches or anything now. I can't even sign up for the subscription anymore because to get the verification info you have to have access to discord. I know you criticize Nintendo a lot and I feel more often than not you're right about it, but I think we need to also criticize those who gatekeep emulation behind subscription and rule it with an iron fist. Just because a lot of effort is put into something doesn't mean they get to monopolize it.
I don't like it anymore than you do but I have to disagree with that last statement. Until somebody else puts in the same effort in order to offer what they offer, but for free, (or crack their software) then they do essentially get to monopolize it
@0Mike0B I'm not saying that the games should be freely accessible, what I am saying is that monopolizing their distribution based off of feelings and feedback is expressly counter to preserving games. And how is what Nintendo doing any different by holding their retro games behind a paywall subscription? They put massive effort when they originally created the games and they legitimately owned them. So don't they get the right to monopolize it and keep it out of everybody's hands unless they pay for it? I disagree with that sentiment but that's essentially what you're saying.
I have mixed feelings. I’ve mad the Teknoparrot people angry in the past as well. But people asked for this and I’m willing to let them make their decisions
@@VideoGameEsoterica My apologies, I didn't mean to imply that what YOU were doing was wrong or anything like that. I was just giving my feelings on their community.
I adore Teknoparrot, had so much fun with outrun 2 and wangan 6.
Two incredible racing games! What’s not to love

You did the thing! Very good sir.
Everyone kept asking so I moved it up haha
Only place you can play the LIVE editions of Golden Tee. I don't love paying, but when it is the only way to play the value is undeniable
Blessings to diego.
Solid work for sure
Don't you mean Go Diego Go!?

I haven’t done a vid on it yet but I’ll check when I do
Back in the emu trap house
I may have to change the channel name 🤣
If only not the subscription model, i would have called it a true post-naomi arcade legacy salvation
At least it exists is the way I look at it

It always kinda worried me the this always seemed to bring up virus alerts. I get they are false positives but what is it doing that makes the alerts?

@@VideoGameEsoterica Makes sense
Yes it just on the fly does things that are reminiscent of how bad actor programs would act. So it’s “suspicious” but inert
does it still bring up virus alerts? I don't want to risk it until it does not
Shouldn’t no
Does modern arcade hardware need security in order to boot
It does generally yes

Did counter strike have arcade release
Will this work on steamdeck?
Game to game dependent. Coin flip usually
Im trying this method out now.
Lmk how it goes
Tried to get Wangan 5 set up on Steam Deck but it just kept closing after the initial text on the game. Looks like a cool emulator.
Yes with proton it’s very hit or miss when it comes to what runs
Which games that support multiplayer that are actually playable over the internet whether it’s direct up to ip, VPN, etc
The list of LAN and internet enabled games is on their website. It’s too many for me to remember haha
amazing team...saving modern arcade games. hoping they will release walking dead/house of the dead 4 for free soon.
Things seem to randomly pop up in the free category.
@@VideoGameEsoterica yes, terminator was my most wanted game...amazing its free!
It’s a fun one! Made the thumbnail after all

I want to setup teknoparrot on my steam deck but heard I would need to install windows first and dual boot operating systems. Is that true?
If you want an easy time then yes it’s very windows dependent. A few games may run via proton but it’s more miss than hit
Thanks for doing this video because alot of people are having problems with setup. Also I wonder using this method on steam deck because I want to play tetris the game master 3.
Every game is its own “emulator” even if it’s not technically emulation so every game on Steam Deck will be its own “works or doesn’t work” instance

honestly f them (teknoparrot) locking games behind a paywall/subscription believe there's like 56 currently

Robbers £5 quid each per game for patron costs more per year to rent a game than buying a tripple A pc title.
I think it’s just a one cost all games deal
its not per game its 5 a month.
