As a MUA + SFX artist I have to say... I am floored. Truly floored. I obviously had no idea, the idea of it not being real didnt even cross my mind. This is the best social experiment I have ever seen. I've been a huge fan of both you and David for the longest time and I applaud you both SO much.
TRULY GAGGED AT HER CREATIVE GENIUS. But the rawness of this. The harsh reality of people especially the lgbt community trying to be something they’re not. Trying to escape theirselves. Trying to escape the online persona, with social media and editing. People forget themselves. As someone who has suffered from anxiety and depression for a decade I can relate so hard. I literally just want to give Elliot a hug. The lgbt community can be brutal. We often forget who we are. I am so inspired by the honesty of this.
The most artistic people are the most tormented souls. You are loved by many Elliot don't ever feel wrong for feeling sad. Its your right and feelings. It's ok to take a day to cry and feel sad. But at the end of that day please know you have so much to live for and so many people would be devastated. Find someone to talk too. An ear does much more than you realize!
Im at the 25 minute mark... I relate so very much. I lost my husband and father of our two children to a drug overdose Dec 8th 2017. New year's killed me emotionally. I too want to be happy and I'm so disconnected to the point where I avoid everyone and everything other than my children, but even then im not there in the way i feel i should. Feel you and sending you my love. I lost my lover last March to a fetenyal overdose (he was 23) & I lost my mother later in the year to cancer. This Christmas and New year's was so lonely and upsetting. I thought my 21st year would be a great year when I was little I didn't expect it to be the worst year of my life. I’m just going to be honest here. After the “surgery” It was hard to look at you. What I thought you did was so sad, because I liked your content and I liked you. And seeing you like that made me scared and sad. I love plastic surgery and don’t understand what people were talking about before you pretended to get the surgery, bc I think you look hot as hell. When you “had” the surgery I thought about only you, but after you revealed it was a stunt, it made me think of myself and what I felt. So I guess I’m the one at fault here and I’m not afraid to say I’m in the wrong. It was so difficult to see you that way, but that’s your choice not mine. You have always been talented and still are apparently considering you fooled us for so long. But I want to apologize for not sticking with you 100%. I was also really concerned!!! But I feel like if people really were concerned like you or me they wouldn’t bully him or insult him. I remember thinking like wow between mental health and sobriety why would his medical team let him go through all of this? Surely they’ve made sure that’s what he truly wanted and that’s all I could think about: I hope this makes him truly happy.

I was scared for him if he would regret it some day. I would hate for that to happen to someone with their face. Nothing they can really do then, like just some implants in their breasts they can get removed. I am sooo relieved.

This blew me away. Amazing piece of work. but I don’t think it’s an “in your face to those who unfollowed” you don’t HAVE to support and praise someone who wants to distort their appearance. The prosthetic (while I believed it was real) was concerning me when I watched thinking “what is Alexis’ mental state to go ahead with such extreme surgery and be happy with it” just because we live in more tolerant and accepting times does not mean we do not assess the mental state of people looking to alter their selves to such extreme levels. So it requires a balanced approach and mindset. The other feeling I have is that while I have no problem with people doing whatever they want. There are much more important things in the world to address than just supporting people’s aesthetics. Like war, disease, famine and a deteriorating eco system that require people’s attention rather than physical appearance
I honestly don't understand why people keep saying who are we to judge? Like You judge. Everyone judges people for their actions and behaviors. Maybe we don't judge all the same people and we judge for different reasons, but that doesn't change the fact that WE. ALL. JUDGE. Judgment! IS! INEVITABLE! IT's important to judge, too. Utterly brilliant and thought provoking. Really made me examine my biases on beauty and plastic surgery on a whole new level. I have noticed the trend of cosmetic surgery becoming more accepted and supported when the person receiving surgery is conforming to stereotypical beauty standards. It is something I feel conflicted about in regards to people who get weightloss surgery that essentially amputates a healthy organ in pursuit of supposed "health" and societal standards on body size. How far is too far in pursuit of beauty? How do we challenge beauty conventions and encourage people to embrace their "flaws," but also support people who choose to surgically alter their bodies/appearance either in pursuit of, or rebelling against those conventions? it was very shocking and it's understandable that someone might be relieved to hear that someone made such a drastic change of their face with plastic surgery. though, ultimately, the person receiving the surgery made their decision and should be respected no matter their choice.

Jade amber I hope you’re ok, detoxing off that is hard. im 21 and did drugs since i was 13/14. got clean at 20. did everything... detox off suboxone and methadone is awful I hope you are ok, I know some detox facilitys allow u to go there to safely withdraw... they are usually mansions to.
Ever tried kratom? It helped me get off of painkillers and heroin for good. It’s totally all natural too. Check out the documentary called A Leaf of Faith on Netflix!
Congrats girl! I’m still on my methadone dose and starting my taper and detox soon! I’m coming up on 3 years clean from heroin this spring. It’s a helluva struggle some days but so worth it! From one woman in sobriety to another, I’m proud of you!

I was expecting the twats that always say "methadone doesn't equal sobriety".... im sure we all have heard that wonderful statement 2 million times 😒 Kratom is a huge help but a lot of countries and states are trying to make it illegal. Im not sure if it actually passed but i know here in the US they were trying to make it illegal federally. Individual states, like Texas where i live, were also fighting to outlaw it... I should actually research it again and see where all that stands since i havent done so in over a year... Regardless, i just wanted to point out how amazingly supportive this comment thread was to us on methadone and those lowering dose to come off it.

I was SHOOKETH, I gotta admit I was kinda judgmental with the initial belief that you did the whole thing.... Your experiment made me realize how much I need to change and how I can improve as a person as far as judging others. Because at the end of the day, no one should judge anyone.
Approval from others is an illusion because they can always take it back. The only approval you need is from yourself. It can be easy; it can be hard- but it’s the only approval you can control. So...cherish it. Be gentle with yourself. I speak from experience. The moment I looked for approval from someone who never gave it, is the moment I lost myself. It took me 8 years to realize that.

You cannot escape the grieving process. You have avoided it till now. But you have to deal with that hole in your heart. You are a very special person, forget Alexis, you are special....that's why you are suffering so much. Things doesn't flows on you. I feel the same....but with years I have come to the awareness that I have suffered a lot in my life, but all that made the 'special' me. Don't throw away your best years, please.
I feel your grief so much my darling. I've lost several people to suicide, including my grandmother. I don't personally think that grief is something that ever goes away, you just learn how to deal and live with it. It never gets smaller or insignificant, it just gets easier. And this, this is absolutely a masterpiece.

I was disheartened at first but then I thought it wasn't my place to feel that way since it was your personal choice. I was bothered by the comments of constant hate and how it must've hurt you to see them. I wondered if it might've affected your craft since your canvas is altered. This is eye opening. I had lip fillers and my sister wouldn’t look at me at first which really upset me, as I am still the same person inside. She understood she had hurt me by what she had just said and explained that she doesn’t condone my actions. We are fine now! But just because you change your appearance doesn’t change the person inside. So do people hate the appearance or hate the decision you made to do that, or is it the hate because you don’t agree on something like that. If that makes sense at all. You make a decision, people don’t like it and they throw you away instantly without even thinking about why you made that decision. I think it's because she might see you as shallow and vapid? And that's not a very positive personality trait to have to many people? Like who wants to hang around someone so hung up about their appearance? They probably judge others as ugly for staying the way they were born to look naturally? Maybe? Doesn't matter, people judge. Everyone judges everyone/everything for different reasons because we all have different views and morals. It's why arguments and fighting and war will forever be. Judgment is NOT ALWAYS bad. WE need to judge. However, judgment is inevitable.
But doesn't getting such procedure tells a lot about your "inside" too? How you couldn't be happy with your natural body, or how wastefull you are by spending your money on something this shallow and unimportant, or how easy you are to get preassured by beauty industry to do what they want to do. Mybe it doesn't change your "inside", but just show more of that inside to the world.
This is amazing. I watched some disgusting people make disgusting comments through all of this. I’m not famous and I don’t have a presence on social media, but even I have had strangers behind a keyboard call me ugly, fat, horrible things. And even though I think I have a thicker skin it still bothers me. I could only imagine what it’s like being bombarded every day. Well hats off to this project, I think you’ve opened many eyes.

I’m 24 and I was a painkiller and then heroin addict for almost 3 years. I was dating a guy who used me, abused me, and beat me down for drugs and I was too blind to see it. I just didn’t wanna be that person it turned me into. I tried drinking to cope, but I didn’t like who I was on that either. But thankfully, I’ve officially been clean for 2 months, thanks to kratom and tons and tons of perseverance!!! Just wanted to say I love you lots, Elliot. You are a fucking genius. 💖💘💕💞

You are incredible. I feel such a connection with you (hope that doesn't seem creepy). I believe in you in fully and know that you can do ANYTHING you want to!!! Im 25 and have been addicted to the strongest opiates you can get for 11 years. Ive nearly spent more time on this earth fucked up than sober at this point. I do not know how to live without these drugs. The first hurdle is the extremely painful withdrawal, much worse than herion withdrawls. Ive done it 1 time before and ever since have feared that pain. The most pain ive ever felt, not keeping food down for a month, still struggling to eat after 3 months. Not sleeping for weeks (maybe 15 mins naps if i was lucky). Nothing in life scared me more than withdrawals. I have tapered myself down from 200mgs of methadone to 10-20mgs. This last bit is the hardest and for this I will be meeting with a dr on January 16th. I have 1 person who I can semi talk to about things, but honestly I hide things still because I know they won't understand. I just want my life back and you are helping me want this even more. Thank You.

I’m just going to be honest here. After the “surgery” It was hard to look at you. What I thought you did was so sad, because I liked your content and I liked you. And seeing you like that made me scared and sad. I love plastic surgery and don’t understand what people were talking about before you pretended to get the surgery, bc I think you look hot as hell. When you “had” the surgery I thought about only you, but after you revealed it was a stunt, it made me think of myself and what I felt. So I guess I’m the one at fault here and I’m not afraid to say I’m in the wrong. It was so difficult to see you that way, but that’s your choice not mine. You have always been talented and still are apparently considering you fooled us for so long. But I want to apologize for not sticking with you 100%. I was also really concerned!!! But I feel like if people really were concerned like you or me they wouldn’t bully him or insult him. I remember thinking like wow between mental health and sobriety why would his medical team let him go through all of this? Surely they’ve made sure that’s what he truly wanted and that’s all I could think about: I hope this makes him truly happy.

This blew me away. Amazing piece of work. but I don’t think it’s an “in your face to those who unfollowed” you don’t HAVE to support and praise someone who wants to distort their appearance. The prosthetic (while I believed it was real) was concerning me when I watched thinking “what is Alexis’ mental state to go ahead with such extreme surgery and be happy with it” just because we live in more tolerant and accepting times does not mean we do not assess the mental state of people looking to alter their selves to such extreme levels. So it requires a balanced approach and mindset. The other feeling I have is that while I have no problem with people doing whatever they want. There are much more important things in the world to address than just supporting people’s aesthetics. Like war, disease, famine and a deteriorating eco system that require people’s attention rather than physical appearance
I honestly don't understand why people keep saying who are we to judge? Like You judge. Everyone judges people for their actions and behaviors. I have noticed the trend of cosmetic surgery becoming more accepted and supported when the person receiving surgery is conforming to stereotypical beauty standards. It is something I feel conflicted about in regards to people who get weightloss surgery that essentially amputates a healthy organ in pursuit of supposed "health" and societal standards on body size.
How far is too far in pursuit of beauty? How do we challenge beauty conventions and encourage people to embrace their "flaws," but also support people who choose to surgically alter their bodies/appearance either in pursuit of, or rebelling against those conventions?

Jade amber I hope you’re ok, detoxing off that is hard. im 21 and did drugs since i was 13/14. got clean at 20. did everything... detox off suboxone and methadone is awful I hope you are ok, I know some detox facilitys allow u to go there to safely withdraw... they are usually mansions to.
Ever tried kratom? It helped me get off of painkillers and heroin for good. It’s totally all natural too. Check out the documentary called A Leaf of Faith on Netflix!
Congrats girl! I’m still on my methadone dose and starting my taper and detox soon! I’m coming up on 3 years clean from heroin this spring. It’s a helluva struggle some days but so worth it! From one woman in sobriety to another, I’m proud of you!

Kratom is a huge help but a lot of countries and states are trying to make it illegal. Im not sure if it actually passed but i know here in the US they were trying to make it illegal federally. Individual states, like Texas where i live, were also fighting to outlaw it... I should actually research it again and see where all that stands since i havent done so in over a year...
Regardless, i just wanted to point out how amazingly supportive this comment thread was to us on methadone and those lowering dose to come off it.

I was SHOOKETH, I gotta admit I was kinda judgmental with the initial belief that you did the whole thing....
Your experiment made me realize how much I need to change and how I can improve as a person as far as judging others. Because at the end of the day, no one should judge anyone.
Approval from others is an illusion because they can always take it back. The only approval you need is from yourself. It can be easy; it can be hard- but it’s the only approval you can control. So...cherish it. Be gentle with yourself. I speak from experience. The moment I looked for approval from someone who never gave it, is the moment I lost myself. It took me 8 years to realize that.

I feel your grief so much my darling. I've lost several people to suicide, including my grandmother. I don't personally think that grief is something that ever goes away, you just learn how to deal and live with it. It never gets smaller or insignificant, it just gets easier. And this, this is absolutely a masterpiece.

This is eye opening. I had lip fillers and my sister wouldn’t look at me at first which really upset me, as I am still the same person inside. She understood she had hurt me by what she had just said and explained that she doesn’t condone my actions. We are fine now! But just because you change your appearance doesn’t change the person inside. So do people hate the appearance or hate the decision you made to do that, or is it the hate because you don’t agree on something like that. If that makes sense at all. You make a decision, people don’t like it and they throw you away instantly without even thinking about why you made that decision. I think it's because she might see you as shallow and vapid? And that's not a very positive personality trait to have to many people? Like who wants to hang around someone so hung up about their appearance? They probably judge others as ugly for staying the way they were born to look naturally? Maybe? Doesn't matter, people judge. Everyone judges everyone/everything for different reasons because we all have different views and morals. It's why arguments and fighting and war will forever be. Judgment is NOT ALWAYS bad. WE need to judge. However, judgment is inevitable.
But doesn't getting such procedure tells a lot about your "inside" too? How you couldn't be happy with your natural body, or how wastefull you are by spending your money on something this shallow and unimportant, or how easy you are to get preassured by beauty industry to do what they want to do. Mybe it doesn't change your "inside", but just show more of that inside to the world.

I’m 24 and I was a painkiller and then heroin addict for almost 3 years. I was dating a guy who used me, abused me, and beat me down for drugs and I was too blind to see it. I just didn’t wanna be that person it turned me into. I tried drinking to cope, but I didn’t like who I was on that either. But thankfully, I’ve officially been clean for 2 months, thanks to kratom and tons and tons of perseverance!!!

You are incredible. I feel such a connection with you (hope that doesn't seem creepy). I believe in you in fully and know that you can do ANYTHING you want to!!! Im 25 and have been addicted to the strongest opiates you can get for 11 years. Ive nearly spent more time on this earth fucked up than sober at this point. I do not know how to live without these drugs. The first hurdle is the extremely painful withdrawal, much worse than herion withdrawls. Ive done it 1 time before and ever since have feared that pain. The most pain ive ever felt, not keeping food down for a month, still struggling to eat after 3 months. Not sleeping for weeks (maybe 15 mins naps if i was lucky). Nothing in life scared me more than withdrawals. I have tapered myself down from 200mgs of methadone to 10-20mgs. This last bit is the hardest and for this I will be meeting with a dr on January 16th. I have 1 person who I can semi talk to about things, but honestly I hide things still because I know they won't understand. I just want my life back and you are helping me want this even more. Thank You.

This blew me away. Amazing piece of work. but I don’t think it’s an “in your face to those who unfollowed” you don’t HAVE to support and praise someone who wants to distort their appearance. The prosthetic (while I believed it was real) was concerning me when I watched thinking “what is Alexis’ mental state to go ahead with such extreme surgery and be happy with it” just because we live in more tolerant and accepting times does not mean we do not assess the mental state of people looking to alter their selves to such extreme levels. So it requires a balanced approach and mindset. The other feeling I have is that while I have no problem with people doing whatever they want. There are much more important things in the world to address than just supporting people’s aesthetics. Like war, disease, famine and a deteriorating eco system that require people’s attention rather than physical appearance
