The first rule of microwave ready meals is reduce the given time by 20%! Otherwise it’s incinerated and ‘bubbling’. Remember the soup warnings ‘Boiling may reduce flavour’.
Tesco do a fresh meal for one curry, you can sometimes get on clubcard for like £2-2.75 depending on the offer, it's actually really good! Curry, rice, bhaji and bombay potato.
Don’t get me wrong as a preacher , as I work shifts and have the odd micro curry and pot noodles ect but makes you think when you read the back of packets, like the donner you reviewed ,and now ‘made in Ireland with chicken from Thailand’ …. I do try to make meals from scratch and freeze leftovers when possible.
two and a half squid!!?? bargain. Looks lovely!. im having an iceland frozen madras tonight. Just the weather for curries just now. Another great video!
I've never known a bloke nod and shake their head so much simultaneously and to mean exactly the same thing. I bet his missus spends most of her life really confused 😂
@@BaldFoodieGuy You should pay homage to the 'Indian head wobble' - side to side and can mean anything. I remember trying to buy rail tickets in India and not knowing whether they meant yes, no or don't know 😆

We'd never see this is in a 'normal' American grocery store. We may share that common language of sorts, but the Indian influence in the UK simply doesn't exist here. Great video!
To be fair, the UK has had ties with India, longer than the USA has been a country. Also to be honest, you guys are missing out, Indian food is lovely.
The Asda takeaway for 2 that is often reduced to £5 is better value as you get much more. Morrisons are also doing a great deal on there meal deals for 2 atm also £5 and again much more in it 👍
Aw gawd! Morning Gareth! Another ASDA item to place on my Derc. list if you recommend it at the end. I LOVE Indian food & any excuse will do for me! It looks superb, save for the bhaji which would make a good conker for one of your children. Where are the 15 pints of lager? Another item to order having met with your approval, at this rate ASDA will need a lorry just to deliver my nosebag! Dec 23 in the diary!!! VBW & Thank You x
Where I live up Teesside it would cost you £1.50 just to get a Indian takeaway delivered But for that meal You would not get much change out of £10 and if you feel hungry you just have to get it out of the freezer and put it in the microwave and you. also won't have to spend an hour waiting for a knock on the door aswell 🚪
I’d be cooking. Nan at the same time in that fryer.. and a popadom.. that extra food cavity is to hold mango chutney mmmm For £2,50 that is an extremely good micro meal
That is a good price for what you are getting, cheaper than making it with fresh ingredients at home, and it looks really nice. Mind you, it would probably cost that amount again to heat a whole oven for one lonely little onion bhaji! I wonder what would happen if the bhaji was done in the microwave along with everything else?
Nowt up with Thai chicken (gai) mate , been living in Khao Lak for a while now pretty much a staple diet in various forms.Mouth's watering from all the foods you show that i can't get.

Would need to add to it to make it a bit more filling Gareth. But looks good, will get this. Our local Asda doesn't seem to have the essentials one , you reviewed recently.
My wife got the similar curry takeaway packet from cold section at Morrisons viz; 2 x people for £7.50 reduced to £5….included 2 x madras chicken dishes, 1 x large pilaw rice, 2 x naan, 4 x proper large onion bhajees…..it was devine, so for a quick cheap Friday night takeaway can’t beat it…..or order in a home delivery of the same for x 2 from the local Indian restaurant for £40…no contest 😊😂😂😮
That actually looks ok, and for £2.50 who can grumble. Good, quick meal there, and like you said 'How much would that cost if ordered. All the best bud.
Gaz, you heathen, microwaving your naan !! 😝...pop it in the toaster if its a mini or the air fryer for a few mins, if you like, like hehe....looks ok that, love a ruby !!
Well, the best thing that I learnt from this is that lorry drivers could heat it up in their cabin ; I'd never have thought of that. Your reviews are so versatile ie ok for me + the truck driver. Are you in danger of becoming a "national treasure"?
I used to buy Tesco chicken tikka masala every week, but too many times it became inedible as the chicken breast pieces were very tough and rubbery. I noticed this in some of the other supermarket chicken curries too. The only one that is consistently good with tender chicken breast is Waitrose hot tikka masala. The are more expensive, but at least I know I won't be binning it because the chicken is inedible.
Indian/Asean food would be the remaining feature of "English " culture that I miss from up here in The HURUNUI hills of NZ - now that all of my UK Aunts & uncles and family etc have passed. - I had to learn how to cook my own half Irish version of a decent chicken curry on landing here back in 1976.
