I had a catalytic converter put in on a 2015 Kia Soul last year in October 2021 and i had no check engine light and it was running rough. Poor performance and lower gas mileage. No oil leaks and i had the PCV valve changed during the same time last year. So can you help me figure it out.
It turns out the PCV Valve they put in last year failed and they are replacing the catalytic converter for free and in going to have them replace the valve.
Hi I have the Kia rio as well my car turned off mid driving and won’t turn all the way back over I received the 0420 code but am not certain on should I use cataclean before dropping 1700 on a new cat and it’s work.
I got a 2013 rio - same car as this one, over 250K on the clock, and it has the dreaded 0420 code, but never had any of the purge valves etc. I figure a bottle of cata-clean may be a cheap thing to try before dropping $400 on a new cat. Is that just for the labor or does that include the part? Dealer price for a cat alone is about $1k not including gaskets or sensor etc.
Just got a check engine and was told to add a cleaner to my fuel. The light went off for a week, now the fuel filter has never been changed out. Still starts up good, has power, should I be concerned? I plan on changing out the fuel filter on Friday.
Many factors there product quality ..tune up done purge valve replacement engine burn oil ? Up stream air fuel sensor ..all.these bases need to be loled at Cause effects..lastly the qualifications the converter Now you see why people short cut on these jobs
@@anthonynastasi4098 sensors looked normally, didn’t show any signs of running lean nor rich. Replaced them both for new ones and the check engine light is back on fml…..
So my check engine light came on Sunday, took it to my guy yesterday. Said low oil (which is weird bc just had an oil change about 2000mi ago - shouldve been fine), but got it changed and light went off. Then 2hrs later, it's back on - got it checked out and its a P0420 code - which is how I found your video. I'm gonna have to take it back to my guy on Thurs (since tomorrow is Xmas go figure lol) but I'm wondering what's up with this. The current code is the only one showing, but that its popping up right after yesterdays issues is weird. Your thoughts?
I'm having an acceleration problem took do dealer was told needs a new cat. On my 2015 kia soul its got 2. One at the manifold. Was told thats the one I need. Help

You can try it cat o clean good luck ..tune it up for sure ..I can do a direct fit converter for less than the dealership

With out codes I can't really advise
I assume you checked the o2 sensor's voltage first?
What if you replaced the converter and the code is still coming up? 2015 kia soul with the 1.6 as well.

Side note, the voltage on both sensors seems normal

2014 kia rio 1.6 has 91k just got the p0420 guess I'm changing out the cat

My rio has 140k miles. How long do these cats last?
These cats lasts forever.
My 2013 Rio has 400k miles.
If you don’t know anything about cars your cat will clog up before 200k miles.

Such a stupid design to have the exhaust headers and the primary catalytic built together in one unit. They are super expensive to buy another one.
