You are always my first port of call when I need a refresher on something, or can't work out how to do something, ( I have a love hate relationship with Revit). Many thanks for your great videos.
Great vid. Fairly new to BIM/Revit, and this clip is very clear and precise. You’ve proven that it’s very straightforward to export 2D dwg. files from a BIM Model.
Using AICS solids creates solids in auto cad rather than polyface meshes, which are alot better to work with and will show up better when exporting to the likes of (iges) for solid works and inventor imports.
Is there a simple setting (similar to that in Rhino Make2d) where I can choose to NOT export "hidden lines" for instance there is a lot of geometry in the building but I only need the surface line work that I can see in my view - not all the linework in behind...
I regretted doing this When you export bigger projects with assets from Revit it becomes individual blocks for AutoCAD. It made my project really messy. My prof did give me a B+ tho
How to export a CAD background in my Revit file to CAD? i want the Site background to show up with my building when i import the site plan not just my building.
Do you know if you can export a floor plan without the wall "filler"? As you saw in the floor plan you exported all the walls have a fill but because the fill is called the same name as the wall (usually I-WALL) there is no easy way to isolate the wall filler to delete it. I just need the walls with the fill inside.
I want to learn how to change color settings. For example i would like a linestyle in revit to export so when i open the dwg file the line has a certain color.
You have to hide the base level first in the views by going to the property bar. There is an option of underlay then go to base level and select none...
Whenever i export revit file to dwg, dotted lines also convert into continuous lines, even the problm dont resolve by changing line type in cad... can u tell me the reason?
