@ LDS.. Idk but Ellie Shea, the winner, has an (indoor) 3,000 PR that’s over 12 seconds faster than Riggs’ 9:14 and she’s a grade younger. (Also has a faster 2 mile PR by 3 seconds.)
She specializes in the 16 / 800. She doesn’t really run the 32 so it probably was a lot to ask for her to do 8 laps when she’s used to only doing 4. She will most likely come back and do well in the mile !!
@@yourfriendcoca I would also mention that if Sadie is really in shape for the 1600, it's really no big deal for her to run a 3200 and do it well. If you watch her last few highly competitive races - not the CA championship - you can see that she fades and doesn't really have her endurance down. I'm not sure if this is a lack of zone 2 training or what it is, but hopefully she takes a good look at her training approach and makes some changes because she is a supremely talented runner.

LOL, right! To be fair, I used to run the 3200 and I would occasionally miscount. It's hard to count to 8 really slowly. 🙂
