Just had my 1st inspection and it went amazingly thanks to all your videos. I spend 5 hours with the inspector and nailed every question. If you know your stuff and do a propa job you have nothing to worry about
i was scared about this inspection an haven't registered an been doing more revising but I'm just gonna bite the bullet and register. Derek is an absolute legend thanks for the information
This is absolutely true, My last one was 3 years ago, It was a new inspector who used to be a local installer , I’d just done a boiler swap the week before that had been under sized badly from original install & would of been AR from the original install 10 years before… It was one of his boilers he installed, Awkward 😮 The inspection went well & I haven’t seen him since 🤣🤣
Been through a few over the years the guys are ok, not there to ruin you unless your a complete incompetent , had one doing the gas rate whilst I did the FGA, my first was CORGI came to my house spent about 2hrs looking at tools paperwork and doing questions and answer’s after that he says let’s have a look at your blr then I says you can but it’s oil fired so we did the flue and ventilation and that was it I passed and was accepted on the register 😅
There is no specific time period for keeping old certificates. Landlords must keep them for two years. The six years he mentioned must come from the Consumer Act, but that doesn't really apply to engineers, it's just not specified.
The first one or 2 may be daunting but after that it isn't all that bad. We have inspections annually for electrics. Again I used to worry but if you know your cookies then on some occasions it's a walk un the park.
Had mine 2 weeks ago, it was fine...inspector was a good bloke. Didn't try to trip me up....Read up on unsafe situations and have your tools and paperwork. You'll be fine brother
Don't stress, jusy make sure you've got all you kit together as derek described. When they ask you to do a tightness test, don't forget the LDF lol.. They are generally decent people and not out on a witch hunt. One thing I will say though.. I've had the odd one be like "right let's get this over with so I can go home"... but don't let your A game slip they are very much watching what your doing. You'll be fine.😊

Im new and just applied gas safe card today... So is this going to be on 1st visit???
I’ve had a few and they aren’t that bad
To be fair to them I’ve had to cancel 2 inspections and one was 24hrs before but to be fair I was layed up in hospital 🤣 they were bang on
Had one in April, first one for 5 years. The one before that was 9 years. apparently I was overlooked. 😂
How about if you don't have any gas work during the period that they will come to do the inspection?
@@costimuscalu3730 I explain that in the video
6 years paperwork? First time iv heard that longer than HMRC tell you keep records. So what about if 5 engineer have been to your install since then?

Weird how he could also come to your place or another center, to do his ACS. Found out they do the same as the rest of us 😊
@@elwittinio2865 we all have to do ACS
Excellent 👍💐🌹👌✌
Got my first one in just over a week, I'm so stressed out.
