Used to work at Kauffmans in the mid 90’s, that mall was always busy back then. Loved going to the arcade as a kid too.

Dillard's was open in Spring 2003 , not 2004. I worked at the old Food Court then

Midway Mall is a dead mall because of 2 simple words Avon Commons.

nah it was dying long before avon commons. it started with the two strip malls across the street bleeding stores and then the mall started dying. it died because the area was not good and the people didn’t have enough money to support it. in the 80s/90s it was hopping but started declining after

@@sammysoppy3361 When was Avon Commons built? It has been around since at least the late 2000's so yeah the decline did start around the time. I actually thought Midway was still thriving in the 2000's the decline started around the mid 2010's.

Dillards closing in 2007 was a small decline, but Midway started to seriously decline after 2012 when it was managed by some crappy management company, they drove up the rents, and did not really manage the up keep of the mall concourse, the Dillard’s wing was notoriously bad and it was always super empty after 2007. The mall still made decent business and was probably 65% occupied around the time Macy’s announced the closure of their store there, after Macy’s left, everything fell by the wayside.

@@A51498 I think 2017 is when midway really started to go downhill.
