If you´re planning a trip to Brazil and don´t know where to stay, in this video I´m going to explain the differences between copacabana and ipanema and tell you in my opinion what is better: copacabana or ipanema district. Well, copacabana beach is probably the most famous beach in brazil and there´re many hotel and apartments options to have a pleasure stay in this area. Ipenma is located just next to copacabana and also is a beahc neighborhood! Before choose a hotel in copacabana or a hotel in ipanema to stay, check my video! It will help you to decide what is better for you!
The three places I most see tourists choosing their accomodation is: copacabana, ipanema and leblon. (all beach areas)

I am traveling to Brazil for the first time next week and staying in Rio. Your video was very helpful!
She may not be saying it but I will. Copacabana is not safe especially at night because that's where a lot of the prostitutes and drug addicts hang out is near the beach so it's not a place you want to have your phone out unless you absolutely need it and it's not a place that unless you are on the actual boardwalk you want to hang out at especially across the street away from the beach. At least as a gringo that's my perspective having stayed there for 2 months in Copacabana but that's towards the beach I'm talking about those two blocks
What area would you stay if you were trying to get away from tourist?
Cheaper housing and near a gym🏋️♂️ .
Even if a taxi is required to get to the beach ⛱️. Thank you very much 😊
I would stay in Barra da Tijuca!
I would recommend you to go to north Brazil 🇧🇷 I’m Brazilian my husband is From USA and he loves North Brazil. Ceará 😍 , Alagoas , Recife. You will fall in love how beautiful it is !
You forgot to say about busy life, ipanema at nght is a bit dead on weekdays , while copacabana is a 24 hour bussy neightborhood. More people etc , so if someone whats a more chilled experience, ipa for sure, but if you like seeing a more busy area with lots of tourists , and a more downtown / beach paradox , copacabana for sure . I love both , but i feel that for tourists Copacabana is more fun on normal weekdays , and Ipanema on weekends.
Hey. Can you tell me if i should stay more in the center of copacabana in the area around the street tomeleros 205 or it is better in the area 152 rua sa ferreira? We are going to travel with to teenager and we like to stay veru central and where there is lige in the streets
👏🏻

Good job. Especially like the map near the beginning of the video.

Are there any historicial cathedrals, museums or shopping areas near ipenema? Looking for swim wear that locals would purchase.
Hi Reggie! for cathedral and history, the place is the Downtown. There aren't this kind of place in Ipanema. And about the swim wear, there are street sellers (in this case beach sellers, hehe!) You have have a look at their stuff. It's cheaper than in a mall, but you will have to bargain. Don't take the first price. I prefer to buy in shopping centers or in shops, in Ipanema you will find so many shops selling bikinis and things like these! don't worry, it's all what locals wear.
thank you very much for your helpful video. is it true that its not safe to have your phone in your hand while staying on the beach? i love to take photos and videos so, if its not so dangerous as i herd, i will be very happy to knoe that. thank you so much
Yes it is true… people can stole your phone in big cities like rio or São Paulo coast…
In small beaches You can go but don’t leave your belongings alone…

Thats a really good question! I should make a video! hehe!
But some options for food: Zaza bistro;
Bar: Banana Jack (for a pint of banana beer! ) and BELMONTE (Belmonte is very local, and please, try the finger food there. Anything or everything. it's very good.
Bar do Adão (Brazilian food too, in special PASTEL)
Barbecue/ Meat: Carretão
For health and delicious food: Balada Mix and Bibi
For açaí (it's more pricey than other shops, but worth): Amazonia Soul.
Hope it was helpful! Subscribe to my channel for more video and tips! =))
@@onlyinbrazil4736 thank you.
Lindo o Rio de Janeiro
tnx ur awsome
Você é muito fofa!
How about what clothes to buy to fit in on the beach?
Hi! have a look at the people there... but it's very simple and normal... just like anywhere... Ah, just that some girls like the bottom part of their bikini very very tiny.... but nobody cares if it's big or tiny... cheap or expensive... on the beach it's very democratic. Well, then in fancy hotels it's different... but over there it's international people, so the Brazilian way doesn't really matter! hehe!
@@onlyinbrazil4736 Thank. Have a good day. Love the channel.
Thanks
Obrigado G
