      I’m the second owner of my Cycolne rake. The person I bought it from had it attached to a full size Ford/New Holland tractor. I installed cyclone rake commercial to a much smaller smaller 2548 Husqvarna and needed the attachment bracket. The person who answered the phone asked if I wouldn’t mind sharing information prior to starting with my parts needs. At first I was wondering, is this going to be one of those, sorry Charlie but since you’re not the original owner we can’t helped you. They asked what the serial number was, if I recall who I bought it from, and if I had the all the service manuals and books from the original owner? I said I’m not sure but I didn’t recall that I did have them. So we started talking about the items I needed for my lawn tractor. At the end of the call, the representative recapped my order and said they’ll also be a free copy of the the books. She also said they’re a smaller company, and what sets them apart, is way above customer service, willingness to be the best in class. They also like to track who owns their product especially if you’re not the original owner so that they can keep building the relationship.
      Again, I’m a proud owner of me cyclone rake, and I tell folks if your in the market and the choices are between Cyclone Rake and an other, even if it’s a few hundred more, you’re paying a little more for the best customer see one as well as a top quality product!!
      I think I’ve owned mine now for 8 years, I do about 1 to 2 acres of dense maple and oak leaves. Never a jam or issues even if the leaves are wet. The previous owner did about 20 acres of a pine tree Nursey collecting all the needles so they wouldn’t catch fire. He sold it to me because he was retiring.

    after you reattach the good section: use 2" wide eternabond RV tape to wrap about 2 lineal ft of the hose (with the fragile area in the middle of that 18"). the non ribbed portion of hose is not particularly strong, as you've discovered; make sure that the eternabond has bonded to that non-ribbed portion. when they say "eterna" they are not joking

    After five years, mine failed just like yours. but i was thinking that seemed fair to me. I'll probably order the yellow one now that you mentioned it.

    I have had the same problem with our Cyclone Leaf Vac. We have had it for four years and I have had to repair / shorten the green vacuum hose each time by at least four inches.
    I guess I will have to try the taping repair that's mentioned in several comments

    I’ve had the Classic for a long time…( well over 10 years ) I also purchased the vacuum attachment…and yes, the suction is pretty impressive…I’ve had no issues with that “ green” hose ….except for the weight and awkwardness of the “head” I’ve asked them to maybe offer a smaller diameter hose/ head …say 4 inches in diameter…with all that suction, it would still get the job done…apparently they do not think there would be a market for it…wait till you get older and start carrying and hose and attachment around….my issue is with the two pin mounting plate holes…after a couple of years, the holes started to elongate. I welded two 3/8 thick washers to “ beef” up that mounting plate…still continuing to elongate those two pin holes …..the two pins obviously hardened, show very little wear…I’m not sure if the made any design changes with that mounting plate? would I purchase another one of these ….Absolutely! I’m sorta well over 70, so hopefully this will outlast me ….

      Yeah, wrestling those hoses around can be a chore. I have not seen wear in the mounting plate but I'll watch for it. I guess I'm 5 years in right now. Most recent problem is that Briggs 6.5 no longer wants to start when it is hot. That's new this year, even with oil change, filter change, and new plug. 30 pulls at least to get it started again, which is wearing me out as much as dragging the hoses.

      I have had the very same problem with mine and it gets pretty sloppy as far as the cart moving from side to side instead if holding still.

    I bought that extra sucker hose attachment, and YEAH, it will suck up EVERYTHING...leaves, twigs, bark mulch, rocks, bedding plants, landscaping fabric, drip lines...!! The nozzle is big, heavy, clunky, and difficult to control (but then, I'm a "little old lady"). I think I tried to use it twice, and now it sits in the packing box. If you're a big strong dude (and you're careful), this thing is MONSTER EFFECTIVE!!

    PVC tape from Lowes. I get it outside in lawn and garden section where the pipe is located. It's really sticky and stretchy. Put that hose together and start about 4 inches from the rip just pull as you wrap the tape. It will form perfectly around the ribs of the hose. I have a Dr leaf vac. It doesn't have the 2 point hitch and the house from the deck to the impeller moves back and forth when turning. IT'S A CONSTANT PROBLEM. The patch by the impeller hasn't failed but the patch at the deck adapter just failed after about 8 uses. But it only separated shit an inch. I just repatched it will no issues using it today.

      Aka pipe tape, plumbers tape, pipe wrap tape etc.
      Great stuff, better hope you don’t need to get it back off whatever you wrapped up with it!

    Amazing how some companies are quick to respond when problems start getting visibility. But drag their feet until then.

      After watching this video, it was clear that Woodland worked with this customer as soon as they knew about it, and resolved the problem. I've been going back and forth for years about whether to get one of these, but there are extremely few complaints about the quality of service from the manufacturer.

      Bummer. I guess everyone might have their own experience. Mine has been pretty good, and I've heard a lot of similar stories of them going above and beyond. You should reach out to them again. Good luck.

      Hello Roe, apologies for the late reply. It sounds like you found a temporary fix for your hose issue, but duct tape will fail over time. We would welcome the chance to speak to you about your concerns with our customer service team and hopefully resolve any issues. Please let us know when would be a good time to contact you. Regards, the Cyclone Rake Team.

      @@CycloneRake Well maybe I should call them about my hose breaking at the end of the vacuum tube.
      I have been wrapping Gorilla tape around mine and it holds it together a while longer.
      But my hose is gradually getting shorter and shorter.

    how does it work with the 3 point hitch when you raise and lower your mower deck what happens to the rake connection

    • @EricLakin
      @EricLakin  2 года назад

      It doesn’t seem to have any effect at all. Because it does not pivot at the hitch it only changes a little bit vertically. It never pulls on the hose.

    When just vacuuming up the leaves (versus coming from a mower) does the Cyclone still chop up the leaves much?

    • @EricLakin
      @EricLakin  2 года назад +1

      Not really. The 5 blade impeller probably chops them up a little just due to its speed, but it doesn't mulch them up as much as when they go through the mowing deck first.

    • @M.TTT.
      @M.TTT. Месяц назад

      it mulches them at least 50% if not more, I have the 4 blade impeller. I blew all the leaves into a large pile, 6 or so yards, (as in the measurement), and turned it into maybe 2 or 3 yards max. I only used the blower, suction hose, and upper elbow so I could blow the pile higher into a large compost bin, rather than trying to dump loads out of the trailer. Edit: my leaves were mostly maple, sugar, red and norway - with maybe 15% ash or oak and miscellaneous. The latter 15% are tougher to mulch up.
