That Cyclone Rake sure does a great job. I think it was you saying last year that you have to be careful because it swings out with the backend of the tractor . That's good for going around those trees and tight spots . Can't wait to watch you blow the snow again . Funny seeing your neighbor out in shorts the other winter .
Very good video demonstration - great views and vantage points. I just assembled my new Cyclone Rake XL, and haven't used it yet....but am anxious to see how it performs. I am using mine with my John Deere 1025R subcompact tractor. I added electric start and the jackstand to my Cyclone Rake XL. Happy vacuuming !
I have the exact CR that you have however I converted mine to pivot like a regular trailer....I couldn't stand that solid mount hitch for instance I was going along the fence made a right turn and bam I hit the fence cause I forgot about the solid mount from that point on I converted mine to pivot I bought a longer hose and made some brackets to hold up the hose and welded the casters to stay straight and my CR works perfectly
Thanks for watching. Funny you can't stand the CR solid mount and I really like it! I know of other people that do and do not like the solid mount. I've gotten used to having the big "booty" out back so it's not an issue for me. To each their own I guess.
Multi camera video is very good for showing how to maneuver the tractor and cyclone rake. Does the four camera set up take a lot more time to edit the video?
Good video! I've been using a Cyclone Rake Classic for years on my property, which has steep hills, some tight places, and so many trees that I spend more time on leaf pick-up than on mowing each year. I'm considering upgrading from a Cub Cadet 1440 to a John Deere X738 and have questions about how you connected the Z10 to your X748. Did you use the 3-point hitch adapter sold by Cyclone Rake? Did you need to use the JD iMatch Quick-Hitch, or could you have connected the adapter directly to the 3-point hitch? What model mowing deck do you have? What did you have to do to install the Cyclone Rake mower deck adapter to the deck? Do you use standard mowing blades for leaf pickup? Thanks!
Thanks for watching and your comment. I do use the 3PH adapter sold by Cyclone Rake. You can connect the 3PH adapter to the 3PH. In my case, since I have an iMatch I had to adapt it a bit to fit. I had to extend the upper mounting hole in the CR bracket for the 3PH top link to fit the iMatch. I welded on a couple of tabs which moved the holes for top link higher up. No modification to the CR adapter was needed for the lower pins to fit the iMatch. I have a 60" 7-Iron mower deck and I purchased the proper mower deck adapter from CR for the 7-Iron. I use a mulching kit (no side discharge) for my 7-Iron when cutting the lawn in the spring/summer and into early fall. I remove that mulching kit from under my mower deck so that I can use my CR Z10 to pick up leave in the fall and use the same mulching blades. I hope this helps
I have an X758, but my property is all hill ranging from 5-20 degrees. I don't have the luxury of going up and down in many spots but have to run parallel with the hills. I am wondering how it would handle hills and being full?
Thanks for watching and your query. It would be hard for me to say how the X748/X758 would handle the Cyclone Rake on a lot of hills/slopes because most of my property is quite flat. I do have an area beside one side of my house that has a slope and I figure that it is between 10 and 15 degree and my tractor has no problem hauling the CR around even when its quite full. Have a look at this video at around the 1:15 mark and see it the X748 and CR at the start of the slope : --> ruclips.net/video/uahVxyFoAVA/видео.html Note: The slope is a bit steeper than what is shown in the video further past where I set the camera up.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I was surprised too that I was able to suck all those leaves in one shot. The bag was full to the brim and probably wouldn't have taken much more.
Thanks for watching. In order for the Cyclone Rake to work you need the mower on because it directs the material (grass and leaves) toward the chute to be picked up and blown back into the bag. So yes, if the grass is tall enough I will be cutting it at the same time as picking up the leaves.
Thanks for watching. Ya I really like my CR too. It works very well. The only knock that I have against it is that the rear opening to dump it seems to be not big enough. They should of extended the top of the opening further up so that the material doesn't catch on the top lip when dumping.
Thanks for watching and your query. I bought the original 3-Point Hitch Adapter from CR at the same time I purchased the CR Z10 which had the ability to switch between CAT 0 and CAT 1 pins. I just added the iMatch bushing kit to the ends of the pins. I believe that I had to weld on a couple of tabs at the top of the CR 3PH adapter to extend it so that it had the correct spacing between the lower pins and upper pin.
Great video! Thanks for sharing...I drive a JD X738 I think it's similar to your X748. Maybe fuel difference and some others but I was thinking about the Cyclone Rake after watching you last year...I also want a cab like yours. What number is that cab so I can tell the JD dealer? I think it will work on my X738. Love your videos...again...thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Mike! The cab was made for John Deere by Curtis Industries and was labeled as a "ROPS Hard Cab" model number 9354M by JD. They do not make them anymore of our machines. You best bet is to try to find one used.
Thanks for watching! Yes there are a few reasons why. I like a diesel and JD doesn't make a AWD/AWS version, I have a FEL and AWS isn't recommended for use with one due to inherent tip-overs. At the time (2012) I wanted a 7-Iron deck and a 7-Iron wouldn't fit under a AWS tractor.
I didn’t realize the x739 didn’t come in a diesel I do know my lawn mower could use a little more torque but I thought the diesel was to noisy for my likings. By the way I am a farmer and I own lots of John Deere heavy equipment but the factory cabs and big tractor are amazing for sound
@@Smokeythewelder Yeah auto correct can be a real pain the the a$$ and sometimes can get you into real trouble. Thanks for watching and commenting though!
@@Smokeythewelder You are quite the optimist! I don’t know for sure but if your mower can fling it, the vacuum may pick it up but it could get real messy in the mower deck adapter.
Thanks for watching. I cleanup the leaves and transport them to my compost pile. I mix some dirt with the leaves and turn over the pile every now and again. The resulting compost turns into very rich soil that I use in our gardens. I been doing this for over 12 years. If the leaves were left on the ground they would smother and kill the grass even if they were mulched.

That Cyclone Rake works excellent! A must-have if you have a lot of trees in your yard.
Thanks for watching and the CR definitely has been a time and work saver.
A badass machine with that Green n yellow
Thanks for watching! I guess this rig does look pretty cool along side the yellow leaves and green grass.

Nice video. Nice tractor!
THANKS and thanks for watching!
I've always wondered about those vacuums, if they worked like advertised. Looks good.
Thanks for watching. They do work pretty good as you can see. Everything must be dry (leaves/grass) for the vacuum to work thes best.
Y didn't you show the process of dumping the leaves and what time it takes to do so? Part 2...
Thanks for watching. The next video I make using the CR Z10 I will ensure that I capture the dumping of leaves.

Thanks for watching. I use the high lift mulching blades that came with my mulching kit for my mower from John Deere. They seem to work quite well.
