About The Channel:
The Film Companion is a web channel intended to promote Indian cinema through films review, interviews, discussions, video essays, and analytical compilations. It is intended primarily for the purpose of encouraging informed discussions, criticism, and review of cinema and towards such purpose, the programs use short extracts of cinematograph films, sound recording, and photographic works. These clips and extracts are of a minimal nature and the use is not intended to interfere in any manner with their commercial exploitation of the complete work by the owners of the copyright. I can't fathom the fact yet. Film Companion has truly been my companion ever since its inception. From waiting for every review on Fridays to listening to FC addas and following every FC recommendations, it feels like losing a friend. I am going to miss it so so so much. Thank you for being a true companion for movie lovers like us and making us fall in love with cinema over and over again. ❤😞
I feel heartbroken. Thank you Film Companion for entertaining, educating and enriching our lives for 10 beautiful years. I will miss Film Companion, especially Anupama sorely. I'm a loyalist and I think I will have trouble finding a replacement for Film Companion. Maybe some insight into the reasons for the shutdown of Film Companion might offer some closure for its ardent fans like myself. Anupama, we would also like to know what is next for you. I started working in 2014 and it used to be a long ride between work and home, it was Film Companion that kept me company on those long bus rides. Watching FC Adda, master class, tape-cast which was again a very interesting format that brought two film personalities together, Baradwaj Rangan’s takes on cinema, Sucharita’s witty reviews, Anupama’s interesting, long-format interviews that were entertaining and educational at the same time. On so many lonely days, Film Companion was my comfort zone, a cosy,little corner I could escape to whenever I needed to listen to a soul-stirring conversation that was pure bliss for the cinephile in me! There maybe multiple podcasts and talk shows today, but it was with Film Companion that it all began! Thank you for it all!! I’ll miss you guys, and will always keep returning to these videos! They are more than just interactions and reviews, FC has documented some landmark events of Hindi/ Indian cinema, and is an archive of knowledge for writers, directors, and anyone who’s passionate about cinema. This was film journalism at its best! It will go down in history for bring one of a kind! Take a bow!! ❤❤❤
Yaar, I’m sad that Suchitra Tyagi is not included in the journey of Film Companion. I mean, she should’ve been included.

Have watched every single interview in this clip. Right from the very first interview way back in 2014. Me and my wife are a big fan of this channel. And we are gonna miss this real bad. There have been times when I have watched the video within 5-10s of upload. If you guys see your youtube analytics and get a spike from Seattle, US region within seconds of upload, thats probably me and my wife - the bollywood buffs who are tour biggest fans !!! As anupama says - be an optimist and hope there are good times ahead for all of us. Good luck.

It was 2020, during the covid times I first landed on Film Companion interview after finishing "mainstream movies" and not knowing what to watch anymore. That was the time I first heard a word 'filmmaker' through the interviews Anupama ma'am had taken. Since then I aspire to be a filmmaker myself.

I cant beleive that this is goodbye for team film companion. I have loyaly depended on FC reviews for film watching decisions, anupama's interview with actors, and the different movie conversations.
