    HAZBIN HOTEL season 1 has reached its finale, and for the most part, I think it really stuck the landing. Delivering a satisfying conclusion for the main season 1 through line, and of course ending with some VERY tantalizing teases for what’s to come. So let’s talk Charlie, Vaggie, Alastor, Lucifer, Lilith, Adam, Pentious oh my god so much happened let’s go!

    Personally, I think the break in Alistor's voice modulation is less about the "source of his power" or anything like that, but more about a break in his demeanor. In the previous episode, Alistor explains why he's always smiling, pretty much telling us that it's a facade he maintains to keep his enemies guessing. I feel like the voice modulation is part of that facade. He keeps it up to continually remind people that he's the Radio Demon and not to be fucked with. When Adam breaks his staff, I think it's more that Alistor was caught off guard and dropped the facade for a moment, and you can kind of hear it in his voice, how surprised he is.

    Apparently there’s actually an answer to what happens to sinners that are killed but don’t make the cut for heaven. It’s an odd one. I think it has to do with the environment, soul and vessel(body) matching (all three matching or mismatching in the case of redemption) when killed with an Angelic weapon which I believe breaks the connection between vessel and Soul completely (even if your body is completely vaporised as a demon normally you will just respawn in hell because your bodies imprint of its vessel is still intact so even with the physical body gone that imprint is still their but is destroyed by angelic weapons.
      For example, Sir pentious was in hell when he died, but was good natured when he died as well, his body was demonic, resulting in a mismatch between self and environment/vessel causing ascension to the heavens aka redemption and a new vessel to form.
      I believe we can use this to also explain what happens to sinners when they normally get killed with angelic weapons and what might happen to Adam if this chain of logic follows.
      An average sinner in hell is still evil when killed by an angel, their vessel is also demonic, the result being their vessel becomes hell itself forming a new eye in the environment as they dissolve into a part of hell itself
      And now let's go over Adams case and see if the same pattern is here, adam died in hell, His soul was evil, but his vessel was Angelic, which means his soul matches the world around him but his previous vessel doesn't that mismatch between vessel and environment allows his soul to avoid merging with the environment and enables him to become a demon and be reborn as a sinner being the opposite of sir pentious's redemption it also create a parallel and proves Charlie right in that sinners can be redeem and that angels can do whatever and remain in the sky, so long as they don't become evil and have their body killed

    • @lumithor9828
      @lumithor9828 3 месяца назад +2

      @@Nanook128 The generic term angel/demon denotes whether you are resident of heaven or hell, but doesnt neccessarily mean any specific angel and demon are of different nature. Both Adam and Pentious were human souls, and as such, there should be no fundamental difference in their vulnurability to angellic steel. Also the exorcist, Camila has killed with angellic steel weapon, was implied to be gone for good, not remanifested in heaven, otherwise it wouldnt even be that big of a deal for Adam and the exorcists. So no reason to think Adam specifically would be immune to the permanence of death by angellic steel weapons. Also, the show (both Hazbin and Heluva Boss) has made it pretty clear it is the substance of angellic steel that is the key to wiping out a soul for good. It would kinda go against the worldbuilding of the Hazbin universe to sudenly introduce some blast, Adam conjured up, as capable of eliminating souls permanently. Otherwise, why would Adam/exorcists even bother with swords and spears?

  • @glitchyrune7625
    @glitchyrune7625 3 месяца назад +45

    I can't remember if it was tweeted or on the podcast but normally when a sinner is killed by angelic weapon their dead, their essence is absorbed into the surroundings of hell since why some objects have eyes and are looking around. However you might be on something about being Rejudged, perhaps upon 2nd death if the soul cannot be redeemed it'll get absorbed by hell permanently

    • @sebay4654
      @sebay4654 3 месяца назад +1

      I think it's not about being judged(I think soul and essence are the same thing) but about your soul, body and environment matching.
      Basically if a bad soul with a bad body(vessel/container) dies in hell by angelic weapons their vessel becomes hell itself and they become just another eye In the environment but if your soul doesn't match with either the vessel or the environment then the potential for redemption and falling/being reborn a sinner becomes possible.
      Sir pentious died a good soul, his body was demonic and he was in hell, this created a mismatch so instead of becoming a new eye on some wall he was redeemed into heaven (I also think this redemption process may elevate a soul above your average winner but that's just a guess based on him arriving in the seraphims room)
      Adam died evil, his body was angelic and the location he died in was hell, this creates a mismatch between vessel and the environment/soul with the vessel acting as a barrier I hope preventing his soul from merging with the environment becoming a new eye (if it did become a part of hell then it's the giant eye on the hotel in my opinion but I don't like that idea) allowing Adam to be reborn a sinner in hell

    • @sebay4654
      @sebay4654 3 месяца назад +7

      This also leads to my theory on how divine judgement works when a human dies on earth, it's based on the souls perception of the self so even a good person and go to hell when killed on earth if the world has pressured them into believing they're evil (this explains why so many "not straight" people end up in hell because the world itself pressures them into seeing themselves as evil or as not deserving to get into heaven) but this also explains why people like Adam can get into heaven because they don't see themselves as evil but unlike this first judgement which is based on the perception of ones self the 2nd judgement which can allow ascension or descension which I believe functions based on matching your environment and vessel.

      Alternatively, I think the way Adam killed Sir Pentious in the blink of an eye was actually more effective than most would consider. It not only displays the sheer magnitude of what they’re all up against, but Adam killed Pentious so callously and without second thought. THIS is how everyone in Hell is regarded by Heaven. We wanted more from Sir Pentious in his last stand because we’ve spent time with him, getting to know him, getting to like him, and over time, care for him like everyone else, and in a single flash, that person we’ve become so close to is just gone. Like that. Because for Adam, it’s just Tuesday.
      Personally, I think it was an effective way to simultaneously display the absolute callousness and apathy of Heaven’s forces alongside the immersion of what everyone in Hell is fighting for. In that moment, we all felt what the Hazbin’s felt, and we were all reminded how little each and every one of them are regarded from the angels point of view, because frankly, though it was Sir Pentious today, it could’ve been ANY of them.

    I think Sir Pentious, without realizing it, overcame the seven deadly Sins. Which is why he was able to ascend. The Sins are what make people fall into Hell, Because what is the point of the other Sins if they don't affect the Sinners in some way? I know it's obvious, but I want this, so badly, because I truly really wish for the Seven Sins to appear in the series so that we see the whole Circus. C'mon Helluv and Hazbin crossover! We're waiting!

    So Vivzy did mentioned that the soul anyone who is killed by angelic weapon get dissipated throughout hell, meaning that essentially the soul stops existing completely, sir pentious was killed by Adam's ray thingy which means that his soul wasn't destroyed since he didn't die to an angelic weapon, that's probably why he was re-judged. Which also means that if the same logic applies to angels Adam is gone gone since his soul would have been destroyed, however we don't know if the same logic applies to angels.

    I like the detail that Sir Pentious doesnt look all that different. He just got a little heaven makeover. Here i was expecting that sinners that go to heaven go back to how they were when they were human. But nope. Its a subtle detail of separating the Angels from the i suppose Redeemers.
    Pentious has taken a new path but his looks are a reminder of what he left behind.
    Im assuming if Angel gets to be redeemed hes going to have a more male appearance instead of a feminine one. Who knows? Maybe he can swap between genders at will as a Redeemer.

    Something I genuinely hope gets explored is the power scaling for those who fell/rose. We know that Lucifer is the strongest in hell, the top dog, but it's worth noting that he was an angel before he fell into hell, similarly to how Adam will be an angel who fell if he comes back. Something I am dying to find out: does the transition from heaven to hell and vice versa give souls a massive power boost? Will Sir Pentious become one of the strongest angels in heaven, and will Adam become one of the strongest in hell? Or is it different for Lucifer because he fell instead of dying and being judged? Orrr is it because Lucifer is an ancient being, existing since before humanity? If it's his age, then Adam would get similar perks (despite being younger than Lucifer but also literally the first man)?
    I'm just super curious :)
    Edit: more thoughts
    Mkay, thinking back, Vaggie also went from heaven to hell like Lucifer, except she wasn't banished by all higher ups like he was. This is probably because she was an exterminator, which not everyone in heaven knows is a job. Still, going off that, she didn't seem to lose or gain power after her "fall". To go off of my previous rambling, maybe the power scaling is based on how much power the character previously had: Vaggie was an exterminator and therefore weaker than some sinners once in hell, much like she was weaker than some higher ranking angels. On that note, it's pretty much been confirmed that Lucifer was a seraphim. I don't remember if it was ever explicitly stated, but it's all there: the six wings and many eyes when agitated, just like Sera/Sarah and Emily, and the fact that the seraphim seem to be on top of heavens ladder, where Lucifer stood before his fall. That does beg the question where his demonic qualities, like the horns, came from (maybe just environmental tho, its not terribly important, Vaggie's eyes also seem to have become pinker afer her time in hell). Now, if later in the series Emily does fall (as was theorized as a later plot point) or just pop into hell for a visit, I'm curious to know if her power will be on par with Lucifers (but probably not because he is ANCIENT), and age seems to relate to power a lot for this world (see also, Zestiel being one of the allegedly strongest and oldest). Ah, and about Adam. Since he was the rank of an exterminator (I think?), but was still shown to be a lot stronger than Lute or Vaggie, it's not crazy to assume that if he ends up as a demon his power may rival most overlords, because, if Adam's power is his own and translates into his demon form, he'll be able to beat anyone below Alastors power level, if not Alastors equals and the radio demon himself.
    Yippee

    honestly a small personal note about why i enjoy Hazbin Hotel so much better then Helluva is because its HEALTHY. Hazbin does many of the same plot points as Helluva, it does relationship issues and daddy issues, but theyre done so much better, and the characters actually work through their issues and grow from it, Helluva can be fun, but it always feels so toxic.
    the best way i can describe it is that one line from Velma "if we cant be friends, maybe we should be girlfriends" thats basically the entirety of Helluva Boss

    • @tisvana18
      @tisvana18 3 месяца назад

      I mean, one is meant to have healthy resolutions, the other is meant to explore toxic themes. Blitzø and Stolas are supposed to be toxic, and their arc is exploring whether or not it can ever become healthy. Moxie and Millie are meant to be healthy but with one partner with insecurities and how they navigate it. You can’t compare those really to Charlie and Vaggie, two mature adults with their shit sorted. Angel and Husk are a closer comparison, but even they are starting off on a much healthier footing.
      Basically, one show is “can a relationship be salvaged” and the other is “how are our decisions influenced by our relationships” which are two fundamentally different stories.

The exorcism is just a way to expidite the process in that if you can fight against the very sins that landed you in hell and become a better being you have every right to have a second chance. That in of itself is a very noble premise. No one is beyond redemption.
