hp Chromebook g7 dull dark screen problem reattachment

- we have found on the hp g7 now that they are a couple of years old that with being carried around we are starting to have issue with the screens attachments
we have found that disconnecting and reattaching both ends of the screens cable normally fixes the screen form.apeering dark or at leaste very dull
this video shows how it is done and give a bit more information if this doesn't work

Fantastic advice, ours was fixed doing the exact same method, second attachment was the problem...thankyou saved us loads of $$$. We had the x360 11 G3

I remove the screen and it worked the brightness worked and I'm very thankful from the bottom of my heart I really didnt want to take it to school to fix but u saved me means alot bro💪💕💯

Yes I have a problem at school like this Chromebook number 13 not working nobody fix it it’s still on my teachers desk you need to go all over to my school to fix it now!
if nobody is gonna fix it take a chance and just try and fix it yourself. and if it doesn't work or you break the plastic or screen its still a broken chromebook on your desk. good luck. I'm sure you'll fix it no problem

I saw this video and this could work bc I have that exact problem so I opened it check the first wire put it back in tried to open it and it didn't open I was like ok so I unscrewed the screen got the other wire out and put it back in and didn't turn on I sreed everything back together and charged it for an hour I tried to open it and it didn't turn I started crying bc I knew I f'd up also there was this black wire connected to the screen thing and it said don't touch I saw that you ripped took the hole thing of so I was like It's probably not important now it's charging but it won't turn on it's a white hp chromebook 14 pls help😓

I have an HP chromebook 11 g7 ee and the screen flickers black randomly a lot. its really annoying and i dont know how to fix it. could someone please help me
This could be the same issue as shown in the video you are on. One end of the cable can be lovely attached so when the screen is moved it can change the contact. But it can also be the display section of the motherboard. Very rarely you can have failure for the output section of the motherboard which results in display issues. Iv seen some very weird display issues that are on a hardware failure level and not able to be fixed with a screwdriver or powerwash. Give this technique shoe a go and if it doesn't work you next move is to msg hp to see if your warranty covers an engineer or repair which would hopefully cover a new motherboard

My chrome books in hell because it’s acting so bad hell is worried to go whenever your chrome books at the chrome book hospital as well my writing teacher said LOL.
I ask for help my Chromebook of the brand Acer CB314-3H gave black screen I am trying to do everything it is not going anywhere I watched the videos on RUclips even so it is not working at all press the screen ESC+RETURN+POWER is not giving anything I ask for help
Sounds like you might have a broken Chromebook and not just a broken screen or cable issue. I would take it to a professional to have a quick look.withiut seeing it in person I can't tell you what's actually wrong. Sorry

My issue was the screen flickering to this black and dim depending on the angle of screen. Now it stays dim. I tried ur ways except power wash and no luck. I'm bout to put it back together and idk if I'll even be able to see to power wash it smh
It can be the cable but I have seen a few where the motherboard just has issues and it isn't outputting properly. It's rare but can be a huge issue that's levels above us fixing. I'd give the cable clean and reattachment a go as it works in most cases.

How do you powerwash this chromebook ?
It's pretty simple. But if you don't it will remove all settings. So if it's owned by a school , university or work they should do it. Switch the Chromebook off then hold down the escape , refresh and power button at the same time for about 10seconds to switch it back on. When you lift your fingers off the keys it will come up with a white screen. You have to go through 4 or 5 steps to powerwaah it but it will tell you how to on screen . If you get stuck look up the steps on Google. Good luck
@@thecandleman5129 thank you so much i did get it working after going inside the chromebook it seems a part inside was a bit burnt so i will have to replace that it doesn’t charge when on but it works so im thankful

i did the refresh button + power and all it does is have a faint beeping noise but doesnt turn on.
update i did everything i did in this video and sadly nothing worked now i gotta pay 50 to my school for a replacement
Sounds like you have a display issue. Of the power light comes on but not the display. The display is either broken or disconnected. You need to go through this process again and reconnect each end. Good luck
@@thecandleman5129 yea i tried i guess it burned out, because when it turned off it just turned of instantly and never turned on again but thanks for helping getting a new one today maybe for free or for $50
@@reyes3579 I deal with about 1500 Chromebooks at my work and iv never seen a screen burn out. They sometimes go into a limbo mode, or the display output from the motherboard can go. But unless you break the screen it won't wear or burn out. Good luck though.
