- Beat the Beats is a boxing rhythm game, but is it worth picking up over some of the other rhythm games out there? I go over what the game offers to help you decide if this is one for you.
If you've enjoyed this review then make sure to stick around as I will be covering all PSVR2 titles. Therefore, you'll be seeing both new and older releases.

Bro phenomenal review. Fucking love this game working on the platinum right now
It's a very achievable platinum and a very fun game.
Yeah the dodging feels pretty sweet in the demo. I definitely noticed the poor hit registration though with going through blocks. How many hours of content would you say it has? Does it have difficulty modes?
@@Evanz111 Each album you unlock(or EP) gets harder as you go on. There is some poor hit detection but it didn't completely ruin my experience.
As for hours I'd say it heavily depends on if you want to chase leaderboard scores I think to complete every track you're probably looking at a few hours. If you want to platinum the game you'll get even more hours out of it.
Appreciate you checking out the review.
@@GWTGamesWithTea Thanks a lot for the answers!
@@Evanz111 you're more than welcome. Appreciate you checking out the videos, if you haven't already hit that subscribe button it means a lot.
From my time with the game, the only thing I really don't like is the hit detection missing sometimes and not understanding why. That was mentioned in your review but not listed in the Cons at the end. Aside that, I haven't liked the actual soundtrack as much as in other rhythm games but this part is subjective.
If this game had perfect hit detection and offered multiple difficulties for each track and had higher quality tracks (like Beat Saber), it would have the potential for that kind of success. I mean visually it is very appealing with intuitive gameplay and the haptics are fantastic where you are spot on about how the dodging and blocking feels so good in this.
@@cusman So prior the games first update, the hit detection was miles better, and while testing I couldn't determine if there was something off with hit detection or if it was me missing in some way. Therefore I mentioned it but left it out of as a con as it worked more than it didn't. That being said, after the first update the hit detection worsened and made it clear that it wasn't my mistakes but the game itself but unfortunately the video was already published.
I'd actually go as far as to say that since the updates my views and thoughts have changed. But before the updates, this game was great and became one of my favourite rhythm games.
Personally for me I liked the soundtrack, sure it's not the best there is but it certainly didn't disappoint.
Appreciate you checking out the reviews.
@@GWTGamesWithTea Odd that they made it worse with a patch and still haven't fixed it. I think it is the main thing that holds the game back from higher popularity (in terms of word of mouth recommendations).
@@GWTGamesWithTeagr8 review! It’s on sale currently, maybe consider pinning a comment warning peeps about the hit detection being worse post update..
lol so first off this is gonna make you somewhat fit lol second off is it was beat saber that was the first ever game I watched you play live. And thus a great friendship was bourn. Good strait to the point review T mate. Love the honesty as ever to
Those beat saber streams were a lot of fun. Yes I remember you always checking them out. Appreciate you still being here and checking everything out.
Thanks for your review!
You're welcome, thanks for always watching.
Nice review! I'll keep my eye on this one. It looks interesting but I'm a little worried that I may be to lazy to play it. The same happened with Synth Riders, Box to the beat and Pistol Whip. I have them, I like them, but don't play them - to lazy after work! 😂😂😂😂
Haha that's fair, sometimes rhythm games are great for that weekend morning workout.
Appreciate you always checking out the reviews
@@GWTGamesWithTea It's because I like you and your reviews 🤗
@GWTGamesWithTea Hopefully my Globular cluster (if and when it arrives) will convince me to play more sporty psvr2 games.
@@golu_pl I'm sure it will arrive. I find I don't have to readjust it once on and it's made the headset a lot more comfortable. I'd say try the different pads when it arrives to find the one that's best for you.
This game feels so similar to Beat Saber.
@@nexus8-r3e it's a bit similar to Box VR from PSVR1, but I feel a lot of VR rhythm games fall in the same box.
Appreciate you checking out the review. Any questions, feel free to ask.
Fair enough.
How would you say this stacks up against Beat Saber? I like using Beat Saber as a workout/physio and because of the insane amount of customization in that game, it works great at varying levels of difficulty.
I will definitely check this out, though.
Thanks for the review.
I'd say this blends the line of a rhythm and fitness game. I also have said a few times to people that I hold this next to beat saber as one of my go to rhythm games. I highly recommend it, it's a lot of fun.
Glad you enjoyed the review.
Is this what happens when the Cookie Monster doesn't get his cookies?
It's a such a great mascot design. However, now you've said this, I'm just imagining cookie monster fighting through to get to the cookie jar 😂
Such a great fitness/rhythm game.
Yes yes it does
