    So, what do you do with the exup valve? Can a person reinstall it and hook the cables back up? You never really explained that or showed that part. Other than that a good video..

    • @TheTSFChannel
      @TheTSFChannel  6 лет назад +1

      All I did was disconnect the same cables from the actual EXUP valve under the seat. I accessed it under the right-side rear wheel fender, after I removed the seat. They come out much the same way, built like bicycle brake cables. Then I left the valve in place. R1 jockeys discuss removing the EXUP valve to save weight, but I didn't see the need at 800+ lbs. Also, removing the EXUP valve causes an engine warning light on the instrument panel, to which there are MORE things you can buy and MORE system manipulation to "trick" the engine sensors to disregard it. Meh... no thanks. I left it in place. GREAT QUESTION!

    Been looking at exhausts for my Raider. Since V&H are no longer made for the Raider, I ruled those out. I came down to the Cobra Swepts and these Freedom Performance pipes. I think I like the look of the Swepts better as I think they follow the flow of the bike better, but from everything I have heard they are among the quietest of the aftermarket exhausts and almost everyone says these FPSC are among the loudest. 1x oxygen sensor connected to the top exhaust, as shown in the video. Great question!

    • @TheTSFChannel
      @TheTSFChannel  5 лет назад +1

      Guys, remember at 1:07 in the video, the single O2 sensor was originally plugged into the EXUP valve (and here's the key) before the exhaust splits into 2x pipes! So while the single O2 sensor plugged into one exhaust pipe won't sense the same amount of airflow, you do not receive an engine check light.
      You also bypass the EXUP valve with this system. The EXUP system is still doing it's thing, but you have removed the cable links, so nothing has really changed for the bike computer. The result is popping at the downshift, but a tuner solves all that. Great questions guys! Cheers!

      I want to put two independent leaks and put the co2 sensor in one. Do you need to put the exup valve? What is the function of it? thanks again for the info

    • @TheTSFChannel
      @TheTSFChannel  5 лет назад +1

      EXUP valve regulates back pressure(?) in he exhaust by opening and closing the exhaust port as needed. This information is given by the o2 sensor then the exup valve is opened and closed as needed from the wires threaded down to it from under the right rear driver's seat. The EXUP valve is removed with the stock exhaust. If you remove the EXUP module from under the seat, you will get an engine check light. There's an involved bypass process that some Yamaha R1 jockeys have done, but to me it's not worth it. You would have to fabricate a 2nd o2 sensor for the lower exhaust tube, and will the computer accept the new data/voltage in the signal, and what errors would that cause? I recommend researching the forums online for what others have done.

    • @marianoarrighi336

    Forgive me for asking an obvious question, but why would someone with hearing issues do something like this to their bike? Do you plan to be as deaf as a post by the time you are 50? You have made a bike so damn loud you need earphones to run it? Are you getting any extra noticeable power, or is this all for the extra noise?

    • @TheTSFChannel
      @TheTSFChannel  4 года назад +1

      Well, I'm already in my 50s, so no waiting there. Isolated in a 3-walled garage, the sound is obviously going to be louder. On the road, the roar is behind me, so it's pretty benign. I wear plugs when I ride, but that's mainly to kill the wind noise in my not so top of the line helmets. I haven't dyno'd the bike, but others have. I feel more torque on the lower end, that's for sure. Looking to do an Ivan's ECM flash one day, which will add more performance tweaks. Also, I do highway miles where, at top speeds, other drivers need a kicker to pay closer attention. The extra sound helps.

    Qué tal amigo.
    Le cambié los escapes a mi moto y note que disminuyó la potencia del motor.
    Que pudiera ser????
    Le puse marca cobra.

      ¡Hola amigo! No tengo pensamientos de por qué estás perdiendo poder. Mi experiencia con estas pipas Freedom Perfomance es que ahora la bicicleta es rica. Cuando cambio hacia abajo, el escape aparece. Necesito instalar un módulo Cobra Power Commander. ¡Pero eso cuesta $ 500!

      Not handy, but there's a 2008 pdf of the Raider Service Manual floating around the web. That's where I got my torque specs.

    Buen día amigo que le estás adaptando en el censor de oxígeno.
    Saludos.

    • @TheTSFChannel
      @TheTSFChannel  6 лет назад

      There are two ports tapped into the pipes. I think this model fits more than one bike. The Road Star might have a different size oxygen sensor. For the Raider, the sensor fits without an adapter. You just need the lengthen the cable at least 4 inches. There is a cap to seal the other oxygen sensor hole.

      No. Esos cables llegaron a la válvula EXUP. También debe quitar el otro extremo de los cables del MOTOR EXPULSOR que está debajo del asiento. Puede acceder a los cables desde debajo del guardabarros trasero con el asiento retirado. Quita los cables del motor de la misma manera que los quité de la válvula.

    • @TheTSFChannel
      @TheTSFChannel  6 лет назад

      He leído en los foros de personas de Raider quitando el MOTOR EXUP con los cables. Dejé el mío en su lugar. Solo eliminé los cables.

      The piece is called "Also Sprach Zarathustra" by Eumir Deodato. I remembered it from when I was a kid in the early '70s. I think Deodato was impressed by 2001: A Space Odyssey which premiered in 1968. This track is from 1972 and won a Grammy in 1973.

      I was and still am a novice. An adult would google the pdf instructions prior to purchase, to see if they can handle the job. The reason is because the instructions said so. I've never soldered anything before or since, but youtube research taught me what to buy, and how to work the equipment. I don't even recall recommendations on wire gauge. In the end, I just had to take the risk. Man up. It'll be okay.

      Shouldn't be like that, but improvising and problem solving makes successful "motorheading" that much more fullfilling.
