Abstract Art Mark Making -

In this video I experiment with beginning an abstract mixed media painting with mark making (vs. my usual go-tos, paint and collage). I began this exercise after participating in Judy Woods ( / judywoods_artist ) and Nicola Bennett's ( / nicolabennettart ) drawing workshop. They are amazing artists and I continue to be inspired by their respective processes. My intention was to focus on mark making at the beginning and carry it through these paintings so that mark making would still be front and center at the end of the exercise.
Materials used: acrylic paint, gesso, graphite, ink, and collage.
