Lord Jamar spoke about how it seems like Kanye is just looking for his ticket into the White House to spite Obama for calling him a "jackass," and also for giving Jay Z and Beyonce "carte blanche" to the White House.

I agree with Lord Jamar that pettiness is a part of Kanye's motivation. However I disagree that it is simply because Obama is on his way out - if it were another Republican candidate who had won, say Cruz, Kanye would have been uninterested. Trump validates a large part of Kanye's celebrity. They both have a reputation for being politically incorrect, egotistical, anti establishment, misunderstood, brash and uncompromising. So Kanye wants to associate himself with Trump because he knows they both view power the same way and Kanye stands to push his own agenda - whatever that is - forward.
