- www.vladtv.com - Lord Jamar continued his critique of the recently leaked Justin Bieber footage of the teen making racist jokes and singing the word "ni**er" over and over.
When told that YMCMB's Mack Maine said Bieber isn't racist because he has "legitimately adopted black culture," Jamar questioned exactly what that even means:
"What was his initiation? What is the criteria for legitimately adopting black culture...Is it because he hangs with black people? Is it because he uses black slang? Because he f**ks black girls? Plenty of slave masters f**ked black women all the time..you prefer to go to black strip clubs? I don't understand."
Usher has also come out and said Bieber is just naive, not racist, to which Jamar responded that Usher has a vested interest in Bieber and may be willing to overlook his problems for financial gain. While the Brand Nubian emcee points out that we ultimately wouldn't want kids looking up to a potential racist like Bieber, he argues that many people will ignore the behavior in the interest of money.
He also doesn't give Bieber a pass because of his age, as the young man painted a questionable looking monkey with gold chains and a gold tooth somewhat recently in Brazil, which Jamar sees as a potentially racist gesture.

The funny thing is how different Hip Hop is now. You see, back in the day, rappers were complaining because of our lack of respect as an art form from mainstream society, we were getting no love and shown as gangsters and criminals and all this other stuff. We FOUGHT for our right to express ourselves as artists in music. We said, if you don't like it, just change the station or the channel, etc. Soon, mainstream started to LOVE us! We were EVERYWHERE. It was literally mandatory, and we were finally getting our pie. NOW, the same thing is happening to another group of people. The gays. They're being loved more and more and thrusted into our TVs and radio, but now rappers that don't support this, like Jamar, are saying shit like, I don't wanna see it, this is my house, etc shit that ppl who hated rap were complaining about. And now here goes Jamar again. The fight was, and still is, that everyone was blaming rappers, rockers, games for children acting a certain way, and the artists had to fight that the parents need to raise their kids. Now, the new argument is: it takes a village? Now the artists ARE responsible for raising these same kids they said the parents are responsible for raising? It's just really weird how stances change sometimes.
