Melco was my very first embroidery machine I had no prior experience on embroidery, I got a free training course for 2 days., I did mine over a zoom meeting. If you have any questions about the machine the trainer will answer all your questions. You also get 2 free digitizing designs of your choice. Everything needed to get you started comes with the machine including blanks hats, thread, replacement needles, and stabilizer. Customer service is always super helpful. I recommend a Melco its user friendly. Thank you for the video ❤️
I researched for two years before taking a plunge on PE 800. Because I sew it came very naturally but like everything there is a learning curve. Digitizing takes a lot of time and patience. As Ive been told “ hire out your weakness” until you become proficient. What I can say is I learned vinyl to help fund my embroidery dream and now it’s come full circle. I now have a 15 needle and don’t have to turn down the jobs I once wanted. It’s definitely a game changer and a market that is in demand where I live. Take your time - I’m sure you’ll make the right decision.
Yes brother. You said it, It is a learning curve.. But it when you get it down it just like anything else. Most expensive part about embroidery.. The hoops. But like you said Rhy and myself doing our thing so you have us for any question. Thanks for the mention and if you got question give me a call....
Big dog, you should look into the Ricoma single head, either 10 or 15 needles. I just got the 10 needles for $9,300. 7-day technical support bro. There is money to be made. I'm in SD killing it.
I watch angela jasmina on RUclips. she has an embroidery business from home and uses i think 16 and 10 needle machines. Melco's and brothers/babylocks. You can check her channel for embroidery machines too. And she's like you @Big Brandoh, she helps people with their businesses too. You guys are my faves because you both help people and you're down to earth and real!!
I got an MT1501 from Ricoma and it really is a game changer, but like with everything in life...I feel anyway - You get out what you put in, it's not necessarily a set it and forget type of thing. You gotta do your due diligence and learning how to run and maintain the machine and make sure your tension is good. and the hidden key is to make sure you got a solid digitizer, yeah you can get by cheaping out with dudes on fiverr but its worth while getting it done through an owner/operator type of digitzer that will know what to look out for when digitizing. $220/month for my machine rn too 😅
Whats up OG, always great info. I just posted a video on the basics and the cost of running a Home Embroidery Business, definitely might answer some of your questions. Peace.
I have a single needle machine and the largest hoop I have is 5x10. I've done mask, shirts, patches, aprons, etc. I would say check in your area for a place that offers classes and has a unit you can use. I'm in MD and I took a class on a 16 needle machine and now I can reserve it and use it for the hats I need to embroider. Thanks to your videos I'm now looking into a larger cutter.
I own a Commercial embroider Machine for 4 months now and spent a lot of hours on it, it's a hard learning curve but once you get it down you can see the quality of your work.
Yep, Im currently looking into it also. Im trying my best to wait it out until August when the GPX expo comes to town in Long Beach to see what embroidery companies will be there and score better deals and incentives to pull the trigger.
As I am looking into the same things as BB the only advice I would give is to have a plan! Find a niche before you get a machine. T-shirt business 1k to 2.5k Embroidery 12k to 60k so listen to BB its a next step but sometimes it's not always bigger is better. It's great free info watching BB putting out FREE info. Good Stuff!!!
I’m into embroidery, I have 2 PE800 single needle machines. I paid $800 for one and $500 for the other I found my 2nd used on amazon before the price became ridiculous before the pandemic. The single needles are great for patches if u go that route. Not for directly on the hat because u will have to sit and babysit it on the machine and it will kill production.
The big question you need to ask yourself is how much embroidery do you outsource? Over a yearly basis. Single head embroidery machines are great for 12,24 maybe even 36 garments anything beyond that outsourcing is most likely the best way to go. I was in your spot in 2019, should I buy one or should I not. I did take the 12k leap and picked up a 15 needle single head. How much have I used it? Honestly not that much, most of my clients I can get to do 48 or more pieces so I just outsource. But I do get clients that I do 24 polos and can turn them in 3 days with my machine. People like instant satisfaction. So it's really gonna come down to volume. It's ok not to do 48 hats on your single head machine, Time is money, so ya I might be paying on my machine and not using it for 48 hats but it's also not putting wear and tear on my machine and still getting paid for. :) Lots of pro's and con's. Best to just write them down and see if you really want to take that leep! _ Great video btw!
I’ve been researching Meclo Embroidery Machines. Angela Jasmine has her channel based around embroidery and her Commercial machines are Melco. The print life , & rouge lab (both YOuTube channels) have melco machines and they are fairly new to the embroidery game. I would check them out as an option.
I actually prefer companies that have a RUclips page because that tells me they’re actually investing time into making content that’s free and accessible to everybody. I chose Ricoma because they offer the training and tech support. The EM-1010 works for me because I don’t do a lot of hats at a time. I do one offs all the time and people pay top dollar for it.

I got the EM-1010 , I love it.
Got one it's a whole different ball game. Custom shirts/caps/kids clothing/custom patches so much you can do.

You can get two brand new Melco 16-needles for about $15-16K. Used for much cheaper.
I own a Commercial embroider Machine for 4 months now and spent a lot of hours on it, it's a hard learning curve but once you get it down you can see the quality of your work.
Brooo I'm legit 100% EXACTLY in the same situation..,I think I'm gonna go for itⁿ

Definitely looking into this. Lot of ideas but my embroidery guy takes too long. Those prices are crazy for a 6 to 10 needle machine.
Been thinking about embroidery
Great video. I eventually want to add embroidery to my business.
