Happy New Year or Feliz Ano Nuevo when it comes. You have a nice mix of genres and a good mix overall with your list.

I cannot agree with you more! This is my favorite video to put together throughout the entire year. I love being able to rank what I read and then put together a 10-1 countdown in the form of a video. You have quite an eclectic selection of books as well! I recall coming across Melmoth when it was nominated for the Booktube Prize and while I have it as part of my book collection, I have yet to read it. I have a copy of Anne of Green Gables somewhere and I have heard that it is quite cozy and nostalgic, but I am not sure if I am going to read it anytime soon. I smelled an Anne of Green Gables scented candle and it was merely the smell of fresh cut grass (and that is what it says on the label as well). Whenever I think of the Spiderman musical, I think of the Sesame Street sketch with Grover and Mr. Johnson called "Spider Monster." It was quite comical! I would be inclined to learn more about the inside details to this musical, despite having never watched it. It is quite amazing to be able to come across a work that genuinely makes you scared. I would not have taken J.K. Rowling to have that effect, even if she had the ability to get dark with her writing. It all comes down to zoning in on someone's fears. It would be an interesting strategy to examine a list of phobias and concentrate on a particular phobia. Either that or expand on a slightly common one, such as how Stephen King expanded coulrophobia with IT. I will definitely keep in mind your feedback about Robin Hobb. If a book you did not see as your favorite in the trilogy is still #3 among a great group of books, then that is saying something! I, too, really admire George Saunders and his writing. The Semplica-Girl Diaries is one of my all-time favorite short stories and I would like to read even more. I also read A Swim in a Pond in the Rain for the Booktube Prize and really admired Saunders' take on such a brilliant master class! I will have to look into Anthony Horowitz and his writing as well. I do know the feeling of having to know what happens, though it is saying something to have to stay up until 3 or 4 AM to do so. That is intense! Thank you for sharing and I hope 2024 is just as good or better as a reading year! -Josh

That Soldier Son series by Robin Hobb is quite special. I read it about 3 years ago and to this date I still think about Nevare Burvelle. Love it.
