Well sort of, BUT, he butted in big time, he just would not politely let him finish, what he was talking about. Devons so ignorant, low and very disrespectful. We know hes not good enough arm wrestler or strong enough, so he had to go down a class.
Devon is so good at these pre match interviews. Honest while also being combative. Keeps it interesting for sure.
Don’t forget his ability to strip and extract any and all confidence. Sandris looked a little uneasy at the end

That’s exactly how I arm wrestle I try to always stay in the center regardless if it’s a flop hook or toproll so I can wear my opponent out

It really is, thats exactly how it feels because its static strength especially with loading at the start. You both push at the start completely tense just a little and whoevers hand caves isn't as strong

I could tell that was 100% calculated, that was a clean little way to say how dominant his hand is gonna be compared to Sandris and how big and strong he is in this class compared to him. Just felt intimidating

That doesn't mean much considering Todd has not pulled Sandris, or Levan. Im pretty sure he hasn't pulled Devon in over 8 months either. It might be an accurate assessment but its not based on anything concrete so we can't rule anything out.

Well, it was last weekend he was in Kentucky, it would have been Wednesday probably when they filmed this interview. So Devon had from Sunday to Wednesday to travel. Not hard to accomplish
Monday and Tuesday travel days, could get basically anywhere in the world in 2 whole days
The most beautiful pre-match face to face I've ever seen. Both these guys played it perfectly in the lead up and I can't wait to see how this match plays out.
You can see that devon respects sandris immensely and so he should. Sandris is a monster at 115kg
It is Devon's approach. He has to hold his opponent in high regard for a short time. Devon will crush Sandris.

As accomplished and distinguished as Devon is in arm wrestling, he's an even better showman and promoter. Devon's smack talking in arm wrestling is on par with Tyson Fury's in boxing. Both are genius communicators and hype builders.
You can tell how much these younger guys look up to Devon... because he's taller than all of them !

When Devon told Sandris that he’s more confident now having seen him in person, Sandris’s soul left the building.
Let us briefly appreciate this setting:
The one, cold and slightly dim light shining down on these intelligent athletes, in an otherwise dark and quiet room.
The calm confidence of each athlete clashing in the middle, the unease growing for Neil and the spectator.
This is what I long for in quality videos.
A vital part of this setting is that the participants be intelligent and come across as such. The intensity of the scene will otherwise be killed

You can really tell Devon holds Sandris high. He has a lot of respect for this young man.
Sandris is a quality puller. You can tell he is not only good because of raw strength but super technical, smart, actively manages his mind during the match. A professional.

For sure. As much flack as WAL used to get, it really, really helped bring attention to ArmWrestling. Tons of people became fans during 2017-2020 when WAL was in its peak and was getting views on RUclips.
Plus, that format allows the viewer to become more engaged, and allows the pullers’ personalities to shine and raise the drama

Devon is like The Undertaker of armwrestling. He doesn't just want to beat you, he wants your soul to add to his collection. Once he has that, he moves on to harvest the next victim. Armwrestling for Devon is very much a spiritual thing, a connection. When you link hands with Devon you are accepting that he is trying to break your spirit, not just your body. "Fight me Prudnik" is a classic example, he wants to feel your energy and spirit leaving your body. Sandris reminds me of Ivan Drago, cold, iron willed, confident but not arrogant, and Devon wants to know what this feels like. This will be a war.

@@ManBearPig14 Styles make matches, I can see sandris getting a pin or two and if it was a best of 3 it would be super interesting sandris is one of a handful of pullers that can legitimately pull everywhere and transition. He has the height to transition to a press if Devon kings and be high enough to pin.
But to get 4 pins.......... I don't think that time has come yet, After setups, fouls, restarts etc those first couple rounds may feel like an eternity.
