Saw these guys as Flowers at The Arkaba in Adelaide before this was released. I said to my mates...you will all buy this album...they did! A classic from a classic band and I still have the vinyl
Loved The Flowers but once Iva Davies pissed off Keith Welsh, John Lloyd & Anthony Smith they were never the same..Great Southern Land was ok..but after that..Davies spewed out weak, sugary pop pap..The Flowers of 1980 were cutting edge..modern.. they were a super cool new-wave collective...Walls encapsulates the 1980 vibe..love hearing Davies fingers slide on his guitar strings during a chord change...the way Keith moves and Anthony plays his keys..with John playing superb drums
Best days of my life
I really do wish I'd had the money have now, then.
Would have gone through the lot.
Imagine a time when you could go out on Thursday night to a suburban pub and see this for 5 bucks. Now think of what you can go see in 2024......
There is my youth right there. Iconic. The detached arrogance by Iva just gets you in.
The major exports of Australia is its music.
Legendary❤

These 1981 synth songs reminds me of the newtown jets. 1981 magic.

Aussie Gary Numan
Shorten his hair in this clip and he'd look like Gary Numan :-)
