When the bell rung during middle school, a group of us use to head by to the nearest comic book store. They sold sports cards and comics. I'd always buy a Wizard's there

You know, I think I have two partial episodes of the Anti-Gravity Room in stunning SLP still not yet uploaded. I guess I better get at it. 🤔

      Thanks for the techtv stuff!

Thanks for the like. Much appreciated. Glad you enjoy the videos!
If you are interested, I located those two partial episodes (featuring the very Lethargic Lad segment mentioned at 59:35) and cobbled them together as a single upload. No better or worse than most of the other AGR content currently available. Should have just gone live.
Also, I figured I would give the channel a shout out in the description.
      Thanks again!

There was a whole Kubert card set where they ruined their line work with colouring like that.

Todd's Spidey #1 cover sold at Heritage in July 2012 for $358,500. At the time, many comic art collectors felt it was a steal at that price, and I agree.

TCJ had a little item pointing out that the Vacchs Batman book is just a photo of an action figure lol

That issue came with a Marvel Overpower card with that Spidey cover art. That would explain the awful colouring, Overpower gets credit in the magazine's mast head.
Also, the card was insanely powerful, no one would play if I tried to use it in my deck.

The pantograph is what they use to make the master molds of coins. They make the OG sculpt of the queen or George Washington (I don’t know what you guys have on your coins) at a much larger size and then use the pantograph to reproduce the design as teensy weensy coin size.

On those Spidey abs, that's a common problem in Byzantine icons, the Lord's midriff looking like something else entirely.

It’s cool to hear Greg Hyland get a shout out from you fellas. Loved Lethargic Comics in the 1990’s with its MAD Magazine parody vibe to the comics industry. As a stupid teen, I only understood what a mess Marvel made in the industry with Heroes World because of Hyland. Nice fella too!

Being about 10 years old at the time I really loved that new coloring. I loved the look of the Overpower and Marvel Metal cards. It's absolutely digital. But all those fancy colors came at the expense of beautiful pen and ink visibility. I personally feel that the comics industry is _still_ trying to figure out what works and what doesn't in the post digital world. It sucks to me how many cheap gradients and phoned in color work stands in for what used to be beautiful half-tone texture, toothy warm paper, dynamic contrast of strong ink work. I'm probably just getting old and more particular, but only a handful of contemporary titles feel as strong (visually speaking) as any given issue of 80s Marvel stuff. Maybe I just prefer the look of what I grew up on. I dunno.

I'm with you. As much as I'm willing to admit there is some nostalgia involved in my opinion, I tend to agree that digital allows for many clutches where there used to be limitations before. I love early digital coloring for that very reason.

You guys should do a video on Stephen Platts Fighting American #1 and Fighting American #1 preview Edition. It shows his raw pencils, the colored version doesn't even compare to his raw pencils and the inks just are not right, check it out guys really
