I also use the standard version of the DM3 digital mixer which I absolutely love. People say it has its limitations ie channel count and no Dugan but I can mix up to a 5 piece band with it.
@@MaxSplVideos Why would Yamaha only provide 1 output for each side/amplifier? If I am running 2 main monitors up front (L+R) and 1 monitor in the rear for the drummer (Aux 1), those Yamaha SM15V 8ohm monitors up front become 16ohm since you have to run them in a series....so the stated 460w at 8ohm (in the Yamaha spec sheet) becomes something far less, with two large monitors to push. This is a major deal breaker if that is the case.
These put out a great amount of power for the size/weight. I did a gig over the weekend with 4 Yorkville YX15s running off this (2x for front of house and 2x for monitors). System was more than loud enough for the 100 people in the hall.
I don't. It looks ok with 8 mic inputs in that form factor and 500watts x2 at 4ohms. Very compact. I'm not sure why they did 4 speakon outputs on the back when one set is bypassed at all times (at least from what I can tell).
Hey there. Great video. I am considering this unit for my church. We have 3 20 year old mixers controlling different things. I want to condense everything. My question is for live streaming I am planing on using alto active speakers and a shure wireless system. Would this work with the active speakers? I am going to use the sanheiser wireless for the speakers. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance. Michael
I would skip the EMX5 and get something like an MG16U. Part of what you are paying for with the EMX is a amplifier, which wont be of any use with active speakers.

@@MaxSplVideos Ahhhhhh, so per the Yamaha page: "The Concert Club V series and Concert Club VC series speakers provide dual phone jacks as well as dual Speakon connectors for input and parallel connection". So if both monitors were 8ohms, I could run one cable from the mixer to the first monitor, then a second cable from first monitor to the second monitor and it would be a 4ohm load since they are in parallel and not 16ohm like I originally thought, is that accurate? Thanks! I am retiring a fleet of Mackie 808 mixers that have been great for two decades of daily use. I opted to go with the Peavey XR-S over the Yamaha but it's going to be short string if they give me any issues.
I’ve had a Yamaha EMX5014c since 2008. I love it.
They just make solid mixers. I have yet to use a Yamaha mixer I didn't like (this is my fourth one).

Thank you this is a great video I want one I have 312 for years works great need to upgrade more power for my mains

Solid Review, thanks! Do you have any experience with the Peavey XR-S?

@maxsplvideos Is it possible to get the mic output from the mixer to a PC?
Rec Out with RCA to the 1/8" input on your computer would work. That or use one of the Aux channels into an interface.

Double check your monitors, most of the time the in/out is wired in parallel. This would give you a 4ohm load with two speakers.

Oh one more thing. I am going to use a computer and most likely obs software
does mixer have the blutooths?
It does not.
I have 2- PV115 -400watts power rating peak 800watts -EMX5 or EMX7 which is the best match for my speaker ?
At 8ohms you're only looking at a 30watt difference. I would go with the EMX5 unless there are features on the 7 that make it worth the extra money.
@@MaxSplVideos Thank you for helping me this really make cents for the 30 watts its not worth it Thank you it is EMX5
What about Mackie?
Mackie makes solid mixers but I don't know if I have ever seen a powered mixer from them (let alone used one).
@@MaxSplVideos They had the 808 series for nearly two decades and it was bombproof....but sadly discontinued.
TOO
Darn it, fixed
