I've been following you since I listened to Ross Daly's Kinkin album. I appreciate the originality and creativity of your art. you are one of the most talented artists of our time. love and best wishes from Turkey..
gracias, gracias, gracias, eres una persona extraordinaria, generoso con tus conocimientos y tu ingenio, intentare construir este duduk, me fascina su sonido.
I am trying to learn the dukuk myself (I play 15+ instruments already), and man it's a tricky instrument to learn. I would love to have a chromatic version, so I am going to experiment a bit myself. I do love the original duduk reeds though, but this sounds great too. =)
@@SquealyD Thanks, that's is fabulous! I've already made one. I meant the chromatic wooden one, but I understand if you keep that design for your own purposes, it's awesome! Thanks for showing us!
Nice work! I am interested in the pickup, it never crossed my mind that piezoelectric would be a good option, nor have I seen it before on a wind instrument, but it certainly does sound great. I play oboe, and I was never satisfied with the mics... How do you apply the pickup to the instrument? Is it detachable, or how does is work? I'd be interested to learn more about the way you made the hybrid duduk. Thanks in advance!
This is a lovely instrument, and lovely playing. I wonder if you have a favorite instrument of all the great things you've made? Or a favorite type, or anything like that?
This sounds so beautiful. Is this the one that's selling for $149 on Amazon? I bought one for $54 since that's my budget..hope I can work a way to use my clarinet mouthpiece. I love this!
Hey, that's amazing! I have a duduk (a cheap one), but I'm a lousy player and never got to use the chromatic fingerings wright. This hybrid duduk sounds really nice, and the fingering seems easier. Do you make these to selling, and if yes, what's the price? Thank you
you could connect a duduk type reed and that will work, but not a double reed like a bassoon or oboe reed. I will be making the hybrid duduk for sale you can contact me linsey@spiderweb.com.au
Thanks for the new video. I only have a suggestion, volume is too low. I'm listening turned all the way up and cannot understand very well your voice. Please record with a higher volume!
Hi Linsey :) How are You ? Now as I am watching Your video I am wonder if this polypipe reed is more easy/comfortable to play than a traditional reed. I have a duduk which I bought on ebay and I have several reeds and on some of them I really don't like to play :) Secondly What type of microphone are You using for register this beautiful sound ? :) Cheers
The polypipe reed is easy to play and consistent (if it's well made) but it won't get as beautiful sound as the cane reeds, however as you've found out, the cane reeds don't all play well and are humidity affected and require just the right amount of moisture to work. The pickup is a piezo barrel pickup: www.piezobarrel.com
@@SquealyD Thank You for Your quick replay. From my perspective as I hear the music from Your video I can say that in my opinion Your reed sounds great it sounds softly. As I compare one of my reeds that it is made of can sounds also great but I can't do so beautiful and deep vibratos beacause if I intesify the pressure too much the reed starts buzzing. I have also few thicker reeds that is very difficult to play at all because I have to blow very very strong and even if I am able to generate the sound there is a hearable sound of blowing that I call noise mixed with the main sound. With this thicker reeds there is also extremely difficult to make vibrato. So concluding I like very much the concept of creation of reeds from the irigation pipe. It is a very smart idea and also cheaper than buying reeds made of can. And You can always learn a lot. Sometimes I think If I would have more time, strong wiil and skills to make a lathe with the use of drill then I could experiment as You do. Great respect. Best Regards :)
@@SquealyD No I didn't. Thanks , I saved Your video and liked :) If I'll ever have a piece of such irigation pipe I will try to make it and I will insert it into my ebay's bought duduk. Thanks a lot. For now I have sampled some sounds from my duduk I currently have and made it available for free (sfz and / or kontakt) on my TunesFromKeys yt account. Best regards. Good luck and keep it up ;)
This guy is so underrated I love your content man. It’s so enjoyable seeing someone enjoy something so much! Keep it up
Infinite thumbs up for you Linsey
thanks Arnie ...let's meet up soon if that works for you. I need to liberate Donna from the kiln.
Definite thumbs up for the beaten irrigation pipe 'reeds' 👍
The lower registers of any wind instrument is where it is at to my ears, thanks or that lovely piece, made me feel great

This is such a gorgeous sound.

Greetings do you can to build a chromatic duduk ? And how much for that one?
Is there some way I can get a chromatic duduk without having to make one?
The dream! I wish I had Eb and F on my 6 hole low D!
Half fingering 🙂
how the cross fingering work for this instrument do you have a chart?

What is the relationship between the thick wall and being able to do cross fingerings?
i'm interested in this as well
You sound like Husnu and that is a good thing
wish I did sound like Husnu
This is a lovely instrument, and lovely playing. I wonder if you have a favorite instrument of all the great things you've made? Or a favorite type, or anything like that?
Love his work, does he ever sale his instruments? Or how to make it. I have always wanted a Duduk. Love the smooth sound.
Same here.

he said he made it himself
Fantastic work, well done. Are you making/selling these?
making them and can sell them ($350AUD)
Linsey Pollak fantastic. How can I place an order?
Great sound! Can you play it acoustic or do you need the piezzo to get a good sound ?

fantastic work! I like the percussions too, how did you make the backing track?
is this like a normal duduk? because the sound is the same but it looks different
similar but is chromatic and uses a polypipe reed
Hi Linsey.
I am wondering if is it possible to connect double reed mouthpiece to clarinet?
Also, can I buy your hybrid duduk?
you could connect a duduk type reed and that will work, but not a double reed like a bassoon or oboe reed. I will be making the hybrid duduk for sale you can contact me linsey@spiderweb.com.au
where can I buy one

IS ti easier to blow than the standard duduk?
Thanks for the new video. I only have a suggestion, volume is too low. I'm listening turned all the way up and cannot understand very well your voice. Please record with a higher volume!
I agree, the spoken bit might as well not have been there.
İt it your piece of music? İf not, who's the composer? How many octaves can the hybrid duduk reach?
0:58 music starts

You want to make me this instrument? I will pay you.
Interesting, but doesn't really have the tonality of a duduk
His not playing,it's a recording.
