I wasn't born a Hindu, but I started following Sanatan Dharma when I was a teenager (around 2005). At that time in America, public celebrations of Diwali were few and far between. It's so great to see how many more people are discovering this holiday and with it the beautiful philosophies of Sanatan Dharma as well as the rich history and culture of India.

Just think this festival as a lighting your life when whatever dark phase of your life you are facing. Don't take as a religious festival but filled your Life with positive emotions.
Light a oil lamp in your house and let the light brighten up your life with hope and prosperity and love.
    Happy Diwali 🙏

Like the Jewish celebration of Hannukah, Diwali also involves the lighting of candles and lamps as both are celebrated at a time of the year when there is less daylight, marking the onset of autumn/winter. Not a coincidence that during spring, people in India celebrate Holi, Baisakhi with colors. All of these practices existed as a consequence of seasons and were prevalent long before they were brought into the fold of religion.

Jews was the first so called religion that ever came into existance...they were one of the first bunch to part apart Dharma and created a seperate cult called religion...in todays time I love them but thats the history

@@vjstyla Point is, such celebrations (Diwali, Holi, Hannukah) were logical, based on seasonal influences, and the stories associated with these celebrations came about later.

For me Deepawali is not only about decoration or sweets like media shows. For me it's time to remember and learn from the life of Lord Ram. He is our beloved Kind and this Day he returned to his Home. So we celebrate this for his arrival in Ayodhya.

In the India it has some tradition, on the 1st day of diwali known as “Dhantera” it means we used to buy something like utensils, electronic, jewelry, etc on this day. On 2nd day, it comes “choti diwali”. 3rd day is celebrated as “DIWALI OR DEEPAWALI”. In the evening of diwali hindu people worship lord ganesha and goddess laxkhmi. Goddess laxhmi is known as goddess of wealth in hindu mythology. After worshiping, we lit candles, diyaas, making rangoli, putting diyaas at every place of our house. Ayodhya, a city in india, celebrate diwali since time immemorial when lord Rama came back to his home ayodhya after defeating the evil Raavana, that's what the 2nd mythology says....So both mythology are equally important.... Happy diwali ✨🕯️🪔🏮
