I love that Jeff who has no reason to know what anything on a farm is other than that he is an intellectual knows everything just through inference by looking at it. Yet Daniel who grew up around farms is clueless.
Someone should really sit Dan down to watch some food Network or something. The idea that Dan has been calling flour sprinkly bread, and thinks that yeast is just ground wheat this whole time is pretty good.
I think he is referring to the grains when he says sprinkly bread. The whole mill and flour part is completely unknown in Dan's rural Kansas bread making.
Yeah, I should have said aren't "generally" fertilized (unless you live in Asia!) some farms, especially organic or home farms that have a rooster running around mean it's possible.
Fertilized eggs are edible, so long as you collect them the day they are laid and refrigerate them, they will not grow at all. Any eggs with partially formed chicks in them were kept warm for some time. Source: I have chickens.
Sankis ooh! I've always been interested in that franchise. I tried the first one gave up a bit after unlocking the medieval world. Planning to just jump into the latest episodic ones :P
Agriculture technology is actually one of the big reasons why we have non liberal arts colleges. Around the industrial revolution, farmers would send their sons out to learn some of that science shit so they could come back and run the most efficient farms. Also, bread is made with fucking yeast. When you grind up wheat you get wheat flour which is in some sense "sprinkly bread" depending on how recently you graduated kindergarten.
The thing about the farming that most people don't realise is most farms buy fresh loads of seeds every year. It's actually much easier to just buy new seeds every year than save a certain percentage for the next growing seasons. Even without all the DRM seed bullshit.
This seemed like dan acting as a caricature of himself....literally just 45 minutes of him asking questions my 5 year old asks holy crap hahaha I love em though
Easy on Dan, jeez. I couldn't stand him for the longest time but I admire his willingness to ask questions now. If anybody at GB had the mercy to buy him like a textbook or something he would get dividends from it I'm sure.
I learned so much about farming from this video. And my so much, I mean literally nothing, I maybe got dumber about the intricacies of raising crops/chickens. 10/10, please make more.
You guys truly don't know the difference between a fertilized egg and an un-fertilized egg? Did you miss 8th grade health class? I feel like Dan is making Jeff dumber.
Chickens are kept till a certain amount of weeks to the point where they don't make enough eggs than it's worth feeding them and then get slaughtered. Also you don't grow your own chickens usually, eggs are bought from a hatchery and taken to a rearing farm where they are grown until they are just about ready to lay eggs (which is about 17 weeks) and then a laying farm buys them from the rearing company and keeps them until they are about 70 to 80 weeks old depending on the breed.
Also grocery store eggs by law are not fertilized (the ethics behind that are a huge can of worms). There are farms specifically made for hatchery eggs.
Hens lay eggs whether they are fertilized or not. The eggs at the grocery store are unfertilized and will never hatch. You need a rooster and a hen to do the "deed" for the egg to hatch lol.
I couldn't even make it a minute and half into video without cringing. 01:17 "Case ONE-H Axial Flow" It's Case IH (I as in Idiot, or in actuality "International Harvester"), but Dan had family that worked for "Case Tractor Supply," so he's probably right.
Dan is one stupid individual....but he is so friendly/funny/lovable, most tolerate him (including the GB staff). He has such little understanding about how basic things in the world work around him, I struggle to grasp how he has lived for 30 years without having a general understanding about the things he seems so bewildered with.
The whole discussion on science and people's trust in it hits so much differently here in 2022. Came back to this vid to laugh about "grain bread" and "bread bread" but sighed at how we used to think things couldn't get worse than anti-vaxxers.
PrisonMike Because he doesn't know about farming? I love how everyone on the internet act like they are an expert at everything and if someone doesn't know about some random topic that makes them clueless.
PrisonMike Because he doesn't know about farming? I love how everyone on the internet acts like they are an expert at everything and if someone doesn't know about some random topic than that makes them clueless.
Steve T No, it's because Dan is one of the most naive individuals I've ever heard. I have to second guess whether he actually doesn't know some of the things he asks or if he is just pretending to be that stupid. He has next to no life skills or experiences and it doesn't fall in line with the rest of the GB crew. Put him with someone like Drew or Brad and his intelligence is shown to be lacking.
Do you post this on every video and replace the word "farming" accordingly? Like "Because he doesn't know about history" or "because he doesn't know about cooking" or "because he doesn't know about politics" or "because he doesn't know about business"? Because it seems like that would be tiring, but you'd HAVE to do it if you really want to honestly defend Dan.
I love that Jeff who has no reason to know what anything on a farm is other than that he is an intellectual knows everything just through inference by looking at it.
Yet Daniel who grew up around farms is clueless.
Buck Bumble 2livecrew can do that to a man.
"Sprinkly bread"
smh calling jeff an "intellectual"
he is a renaissance man
Neither knew unfertilised eggs with no Rooster around never turn to chicks.😜
Dan's knowledge of the world is truly astounding.
Dan has knowledge?
Reminds me of Karl Pilkington, they could be long lost brothers.
Derek Ricciardi he has zero
Please never change Dan, just stay who you are.
Someone should really sit Dan down to watch some food Network or something.

I think better yet someone should probably send him back to primary school to learn basic stuff.
THE SPRINKLY BREAD
Wheatless You make the sliced bread from the sprinkly bread!
POWDERED TOAST
Food eggs aren't fertilized, if there is no rooster around to fertilize the eggs, they lay unfertilized ones.
Well somehow some rarely get fertilized because I once found a beak in one, like they mentioned.
Yeah, I should have said aren't "generally" fertilized (unless you live in Asia!) some farms, especially organic or home farms that have a rooster running around mean it's possible.
Thank you for making this comment, this was killing me while watching.
I love that they apparently think, eggs just hatch as a function of time and relative distance from chickens
Fertilized eggs are edible, so long as you collect them the day they are laid and refrigerate them, they will not grow at all.
Any eggs with partially formed chicks in them were kept warm for some time.
Source: I have chickens.
"You cut the wheat and make yeast piles" -Dan Rykert
By far one of the most entertaining quick looks I've seen, due mainly to all the tangents you went off on.
Jeff and Dan is the best combo going.
does dan even know how to dress himself in the mornings?
Jeff's disappointment, when he could not harvest the people walking in front of the tractor at the store, is why this is all great.
This is the best video they've made in years, I'm going to miss Dan so much I'm actually crying
Senmetsu Is he leaving? Please say yes.
Senmetsu He's just moving to New York, so he'll be in videos with Vinny and Alex.
CaptainAmerica going back out to gbeast
Ohhhh, Dan+Vinny will be an excellent duo I want to see.
What a great episode. This should be a series.
I have never felt more knowledgeable about farming and bread making than I did watching this video.
YOU SQUISH THE WHEAT
UNTIL IT BECOMES YEAST?
God dang I love Dan.
I wonder what Dan thinks about what yeast infection is.
When you leave bread out for too long and it goes mouldy
I love when Jeff and Dan play games together!
This Quick Look GOES PLACES.
Never change, Dan...
*Dan explains how bread goes from field to market*
"Not a word of that is correct!"
I love Dan.
does Dan have zero curiosity? Has he ever just googled something he heard talked about
He just makes up how things work in his head, and then assumes he's right.
This is off topic but whats your profile picture? I need to know! :D
Armaan mine? It's a shot from Dreamfall: the longest journey. one of favorite games
Sankis ooh! I've always been interested in that franchise. I tried the first one gave up a bit after unlocking the medieval world.
Planning to just jump into the latest episodic ones :P

This has cockpit view but GRID 2 doesn't.
You guys are really the best when I'm getting baked on my day off.
You baking with sprinkly bread?
Dan is the Idiot Abroad of Giant Bomb and I hope he never leaves.
Love how heavy it gets!
"sprinkley bread"
Jesus christ, Dan
Both the stick drift and lack of common knowledge is killing me
The thing about the farming that most people don't realise is most farms buy fresh loads of seeds every year. It's actually much easier to just buy new seeds every year than save a certain percentage for the next growing seasons. Even without all the DRM seed bullshit.
jeffs dan patience is astounding!

"Is this in European Dollars?"
oh boy it's a Dan episode
I have no words other than I love these guys and never stop
I learned so much about farming from this video. And my so much, I mean literally nothing, I maybe got dumber about the intricacies of raising crops/chickens.
10/10, please make more.
The egg conversation is what got to me the most
MY farming knowledge comes from SimFarm.
LOL Yeaaah pesticide filled strawberries! Maybe apples?
Man, Jeff wasn't kidding when he said this quick look 'went places' lol
How many gallons of seeds can I get for five European dollars?
It really is amazing how clueless Dan and Jeff are. They have no idea where their food comes from at all.
Life: With Dan and Jeff
I love me some sprinkly bread.
You guys truly don't know the difference between a fertilized egg and an un-fertilized egg?
Did you miss 8th grade health class?
I feel like Dan is making Jeff dumber.
Greetings from Iowa, Giantbomb!
Hay is for horses, lets bring it back.
This game secretly kicks ass.
Yet another way to miss Ryan. These guys do great, but it's just not the same.
Brock Lesnar farmer model DLC when?

Also aphids are bugs that give birth to pregnant babies.
Holy shit! This was like watching that guy from Polygon play Doom. Haha!
Oh my god the egg discussion what the hell is going on here?
This was funny and then it got super depressing at the end. In a funny way still. Haha.
As someone who has worked on a farm this is hard to watch. Dan knows nothing.
Everyone is always hating on Dan for not knowing how things work, but it seems Jeff doesn't know how chickens and eggs work
Ugh, was hoping this would be a funny Vinny vid. Dreams shattered.
.....I got way too invested in this video...yelling at Dan not to spill the grain.

Sorry we all don't know about random ass farming tools?
HAY IS FOR HORSES YOU ARE NOT ALONE THIS IS A THING
I remember it in the 90's
"little piles of yeast" is the worst phrase I've heard today
"This is like one of those sliding puzzles."
Dan is one stupid individual....but he is so friendly/funny/lovable, most tolerate him (including the GB staff). He has such little understanding about how basic things in the world work around him, I struggle to grasp how he has lived for 30 years without having a general understanding about the things he seems so bewildered with.
yerolo Who has also published many books lol
I can't stop laughing at the idiocy that comes from Dan's mouth.
People still say hay is for horses in northern ontario Dan :)
Naive Dan strikes again.
At some point Dan's view starts to slowly float upwards like the right stick is broken, and it's really bugging me.. Almost to the point of nausea
Hey Dan, after you are finished watching Cowboy Bebop, go watch Silver Spoon and Shokugeki no soma to educate yourself about farming and cooking. :)
Quantum Leap Farming
Jeff is the thickest person on the plant
Rob Barrett *Brett
First Polygon with their Doom video and now this... We can't trust any of these anymore.
Eggs only make chickens if a rooster has fertilized them. Grocery store eggs are never going to make chickens
Between Giant Bomb and Steam Friends why is it that farming simulators bring up conversations about ethics so much?
24:30 Crying from laughter.
It's so frustrating how dumb dan is sometimes... Sprinkle bread?
turtles swim towards the ocean now i guess
wow I forgot about farming simulator
Farmin and talkin conspiracy theories, I love it.
Well that was pleasant
Kinda upset Dan is going east. After all, he IS a core part of why we have Mario Party parties and Metal Gear Scanlon.
AsterSea Im going to miss the Dan and Jeff combo, almost as much as Vinny and Jeff
Currency is Euros, yet the locale looks very much US
Holy shit did these grown men really not know that the eggs you buy arent fertilized?
Do they think Chickens can self-reproduce?
dan playing basketball was better than nba live game
The whole discussion on science and people's trust in it hits so much differently here in 2022. Came back to this vid to laugh about "grain bread" and "bread bread" but sighed at how we used to think things couldn't get worse than anti-vaxxers.
"they call them euros"
"or pounds"
Dan, Dan no.
came here to see sprinkly bread comments. am not disappointe
Dan is so clueless....
PrisonMike Because he doesn't know about farming? I love how everyone on the internet act like they are an expert at everything and if someone doesn't know about some random topic that makes them clueless.

Steve T he asks questions a 5 year old would ask if they were on a farm field trip that shit is all common knowledge I ain't a farmer lol
Steve T No, it's because Dan is one of the most naive individuals I've ever heard. I have to second guess whether he actually doesn't know some of the things he asks or if he is just pretending to be that stupid. European Dollars ...... nice one
I didn't think it was possible that people didn't understand how eggs or bread were made..
European Dollars oh you Dan :D
CMON WHERE THE FUCK IS VINNY ON THIS?
"European Dollars" xD
sorry Daniel is
2 Trainz
please tell me jeff has parental rights over dans voting choice
What the fuck. I have to assume Dan is joking, because otherwise his awareness of the world around him is fucking depressing.
" case 1 H"......are you kidding me ....
so sick of dan
I was hoping Vinny would do this QL he usually finds ways to break these types of games horrifically.
