Totally agree with you on Top Gun Maverick as it was my film of the year as well. Does it have the best performances... no, does it have the most complex plot..... no. But what it does have is that magic that reminds us of why we even go to the movies in the first place. I don't remember a film in a very long time that just had you cheering and riding on a high in a very long time. Of course the visuals were amazing and the nostalgia was just enough to satisfy that craving but to much to be a crutch. Can't wait to see how the new films lined up for 2023 are going to pan out.

Loved The Northman. Huge fan of Robert Eggers. The Witch and The Lighthouse are two of my favourite films of the last decade. I love that slow burn atmospheric style more than anything. The Northman might be my least favourite of the three but I still really enjoyed it. I think that larger budget meant that Eggers had a few more hands controlling the wheel.

Good list. Maverick is also my number one. Bummer you got no horror in the top 10, it was a great year for horror. Barbarian and X made my list. Thanks.
The difference between Kristian and other RUclipsrs and Critics is his passion. I don't see someone talking about movies and TV with as much passion as him since Siskel and Ebert. Even when I don't agree with him, I'm all here to listen and be fascinated with his love for what he does and all those things that we appreciate. Since Collider Live, I just need some Kristian to enjoy even more those things. It was good to have you back this year, old friend. Thanks for everything and I see you in 2023!
Hey, Kristian. Where did you get the Horse painting that is behind you, in the video? My favourite movie of the year was Top Gun: Maverick. Enjoyed hearing your list.
I gotta get caught up on a few of the movies from 2022. But some of my favorites of this year were Avatar 2, Del Toro’s Pinocchio, The Batman, Bullet Train, Glass Onion and Elvis. Elvis was a real surprise for me. Butler should get an Oscar nom for his performance.

Total magic

Loved The Northman. Huge fan of Robert Eggers. The Witch and The Lighthouse are two of my favourite films of the last decade. I love that slow burn atmospheric style more than anything. The Northman might be my least favourite of the three but I still really enjoyed it. I think that larger budget meant that Eggers had a few more hands controlling the wheel.
For me the 12 movies I saw in 2022.

Agreed with Avatar 2 completely, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a movie in theaters multiple times & I’m going to see it for the 3rd time today!
I've seen it thrice and wanna see it again. Never ever have I wanted to watch a movie again and again like this
How I felt with the Batman and no way home last year both 7 times in theaters 😅
I'm guessing you're Zoomers, CGI and Superhero movies are fast food entertainment.
ugh
So you're one of those rewatch the crap because you want artificially inflated numbers.
Avatar is and always has been the left trying to make something special out of nothing. Totally without substance

This was a tough year for movies in my view. Normally, I watch approximately 3 movies per month but this year only watched 15 all year.
Here is my list of movie that I enjoyed:
1.The Batman
2.Top Gun
3.Glass Onion
4.The Black Phone
5.Smile
6.Wakanda Forever
7.Black Adams
8.The Invitation
The other 7 movies were horrible.
