Steph and Mike work so well off each other. Taking over effortlessly when the dogs start barking. Really enjoy hearing both takes, keep up the good work crew!
Storm gotta be sexy as hell, and at least in my opinion, Cynthia just ain't that. Unless they're going for something different from the comics, which I don't think most people would love.
Well, whoever plays Storm or any of the reboot characters in the upcoming X-men will depend on the stories and importantly, are they going for an younger X-men core group or an older X-men group. Marvel studio will cast according to that. Cynthia Erivo will work if they go with an older X-men as she already going to hitting her 40s soon and play with with older X-men crew. Otherwise, they will cast someone younger under 30s because they are going for the long game trilogy from these cast. Fox's X-men already had done both regardless whether they are good or not.
Hey Kristian. In the Creatures Commandos finale, which is hard canon for the DCU as confirmed by James Gunn, Dr. Phosphorus states he was captured and put in prison by DCU Batman, and Phosphorus confirms that this took place around 15 years prior to the finale. Thus, this episode confirms Batman has been around for at least that long within the DCU, which makes sense considering Brave and the Bold features his ten year old assassin son and a fully functioning Bat Family. Now The Batman Part 1 features Pattinson who is in year 2 of being Batman, and that film takes place in the year 2019. In Reeves' The Batman, Selina Kyle says her mom was murdered 15 years prior. Her mother’s headstone had 2004 as the year of death. Thomas and Martha Wayne were killed in 2001, and the riddler kills the mayor near the 18th anniversary of their murder. Also, 2019 is the most recent year where Halloween was on a Thursday..... Thus, this discussion is pretty mute after the Creature Commandos episode because, despite being animated, it's hard canon for the DCU. They simply cannot be one and the same. I think Jeff Sneider's source is simply wrong on this in the same way his source got the Green Lantern casting wrong for John Stewart, and personally, I think we need a recast for DCU Batman so I'm okay with this.
I did not like Acolyte, Obi Wan or Boba Fett, but can confirm Skeleton Crew is a lot of fun. Bit cheesy at times but given the subject matter it doesnt really bother me. The droid in it is hilarious and the pirate theme/setting is really fun. Nothing special but a good time.
But James has debunked it so many times. He literally said when announcing the DCU Chapter 1 that The Batman is Elseworld. Matt has agreed to this as well. He's said it so many times. If you look at both interviews with Matt and Gunn you can tell they hate the question. Matt & Gunn basically said a polite/PR no. If they wouldve wanting Andy gone they wouldve done so already.
Kristian is so right. They should be trying to get out the DCU Batman before Batman 2 really. At least appearances. I think Gunn knows this. Since the Reeves verse is already a thing, it's the perfect opportunity to create else world stories outside the DCU into a thing. That creates so many opportunities and so much additional revenue that is hard to do within a single story that's kind of in one universe. It would be genius. If they had to create the Reeves universe after the DCU was established, that would be hard. This is a gift...I hope they push it out by 2026.
Can you even picture Battinson in this Superman universe? It's a terrible idea. Bring in Batman living in a more fantastical Gotham, not an overly grounded one
In regards to Batman I think its absolutely fine to have 2 different cinematic Batman's at the same time. Matt Reeves' Batmanverse can remain the grounded darker take on the character whilst the DCU Batman can be the Fantastical take on the character. DC Studios just need to work out the scheduling & release strategy for these films. Making sure they aren't released to close to each other & making it abundantly clear in all the marketing for both films with universe they take place in. Simply adding labels "Matt Reeves' Batmanverse" (for The Batman 2) "James Gunn's DC Universe" (for The Brave & The Bold) on all promotional material can make it clear for general audiences. As for DCU Batman casting, a fan favourite as of late is actor Brandon Sklenar ( of "Yellowstone" spin off "1923" fame). Recently he reacted positively to a Instagram post that was shared with him that was an edit of him as DCU Batman standing next to David Corenswet's Superman. He would honestly be fantastic I think. Great live stream as always.
That is the most telling thing about this whole Pattinson situation because Gunn has a track record of shooting down bs without any hesitation. The fact that he hasn’t firmly stated one way or another about this Batman thing tells me that discussions are actively ongoing
Reeves literally said they were happening (the discussions), or at they very least that they’d been had, but his face when he said it seemed more of the “I wish they weren’t happening” variety
Gunn has made it clear multiple times Reeves is doing his own thing. maybe they started again recently but go watch his interview with Josh horowitz, he seemed to hate that question bc he knew this would happen
How are they going to incorporate Batman in the DCU? Reeves's The Batman was year 2 Batman. Year 3 Batman adopts Dick Grayson age 12. Gunn's Batman supposedly is a lived in everyone knows Batman. Just have 2 Batmans.
I’d like to think they would’ve planned out whether or not a new Batman would be needed a lil time ago lol I’d prefer 2. Reeves Batman is cool and should be its own thing
yea i get Gunn has been filming all year for Superman starting in february then peacemaker right after. on top of looking at scripts and getting them ready to shoot like Supergirl, lanterns and clayface but i think once they have a script for BATB then there will be a new director maybe
The reports of Will Smith doing Matrix 5 and T'Challa being recast for Black Panther 3 were never confirmed, so it's not surprising to find out they were simply rumors. I want to see both movies, so I'm open to whoever is cast in them. Although, I'm hoping Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss both at least come back for Matrix 5 if it happens. As far as Cynthia Erivo playing Storm, I'm not against it and I'll accept it if she gets the role, but I agree it should be someone else. I'm bummed to hear that Coy and Winston had to evacuate, though. I hope they're okay.
Wolverine was too tall 😂 but gave a great performance for 2 decades I'm not saying I prefer her but I'm just saying height don't matter if the character is played well or fits the vibe

@ dude no one actually wants a comic accurate height Wolverine. We saw what that looked like in DP&W and it was ridiculous. I'm a short king and I don't need or want representation lol
I was looking forward to getting a fantastical Batman in the DCU but bringing Reeves' Batman to the DCU will not allow that. I think we have explored real-world Batman enough. Reeves' Batman would be out-of-place, underwhelming and underdeveloped in the DCU.
I think that depending on the timing of all the movies, it could work out alright for both sides. Batman doesn’t have to focus on either fantastical villains or grounded villains. There has always been a balance and they can make it work within the movies as well IMO. They could finish the trilogy as it’s own grounded thing before a potential post credit scene teasing a more unnatural villain. I feel like that would also help explain the need for a Bat-Family. All this paired with maybe some hinting throughout the next 2 films of the trilogy of the more fantastical stuff and a time jump could make movies like the brave and the bold work. It also doesn’t remove the option for the more grounded situations regarding Batman. The films don’t all need to follow the same tone as each other.
At this point I'm just waiting for proof whether or not Pattison will be in the main DCU. I'm really enjoying Skeleton Crew and can't wait for the finale.
I called Heath Ledger are the Joker the first time I saw 10 Things I Hate About You in like 99/00. He flashes the Joker smile at Joey Donner when talking about upping his price. I shoulda gotten a cookie.
I'm with you there. It's also not like the first Iron Man started off as some crazy multiversal, magical, intergalactic film. Yet his character worked seamlessly with the likes of Thor, The Guardians, Dr Strange, and so many others.... Not saying that's the route they will or should take, but I do think some people are too severely against it before it even happens.
Season 4 of love death + robots probably in the works but Secret Level just came out which Blur Studio was involved in the making of that series. 1:26:58
CReel this theory sounds great, but i think it would only help Gunn to be able to have outside stories and then the DCU. The fact that Reeves verse is fully established after Penguin is a gift to them. Then they can go and do anything with the DCU. Also be able to tell stories, maybe better stories outside the greater storyline... That don't touch the DCU. Either way works actually, but there was a batfleck appearance in Flash after Pattinson had his movie. It's not that confusing. Again I'm just saying if they were to try to establish a second Batman after one is introduced in the DCU. That would be more difficult. The fact that this is already going so strong. It's a gift that they should take and establish outside stories.
See the thing is dc is making a business decision pattinsons Batman is the best Batman the dc has had and is easily the most popular. If they make another movie with Batman they would be losing steam and money by having two competing Batman’s. In which pattinsons Batman would win because he is more popular than anyone you could put in the dcu. They want Pattinson in the dcu for that reason.
I was against recasting T’Challa at the time and I understand their reasoning, but I’m ok with it now. I also wouldn’t mind if they go with his son, but I know many people want to see T’Challa Sr as the BP so I get it.
59:07 I’m on the opposite side. I think the role is bigger than the actor. Like James Bond. It should be an honor for someone to fill the character’s shoes.
As far as casting in the MCU, I can only think of one person who people generally disliked. Have there been any parts where people thought an actor was miscast? 1:17:25 Dewanda was a good suggestion, she was in this pool man Chis Pine movie as like a kinda femme fatale.
The Muschietti’s have an office on the WB lot right next to Safran and Reeves doesn’t so I could see them being more involved than Reeves but it’s all about money so nothing is set in stone either way.
I thought I was the only one to say that 😆 Tall and bulky, square jaw, slick hair, has a darkness to him but can play the eccentric billionaire playboy like in Mad Men. To me it's an obvious choice, only issue being he's 53 and counting
Its stupid go only have one Tchalla but we can have 6 Batmans, 10 Jokers & 3 Spidermans. Shouldnt be hard decision to continue when we got another Joker after Ledger. Sooner or later the communities going think theyre dragging this too long and give Marvel the finger.
I Think They Should Have Recasted For T Challa In Black Panther 2. I Like Shuri The Character, But It Was A Mistake Having Her Take Over The Mantle In Wakanda Forever.
Matt Reeves with direct The Batman II. Then his universe will be over, and they will start fresh on The Brave and The Bold. They cant wait till 2031 to start the DCU batman.
The first 3 seasons of The Flash were great. The decline in quality starts with Season 4 and ends with Season 9. I stoped watching The Flash after Season 7, and didn't bother to watch last 2 seasons.
I don’t think Andy directing this movie, Gunn never confirmed it like everything else. They probably waiting for a script and another director to say they’re moving on from Andy for creative differences
Robert is too young to be the father of Damian who has also had Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake as robin. Speculation exists that Josh Brolin is either Darkseid or Batman. Josh is old enough to play the Batman of The Brave and the Bold storyline. I also think that Robert is too thin to play The Batman of Earth Prime. My thinking is also that Gunn wants an older Batman so that it might not be too long before we get to Batman Beyond.
I genuinely can’t tell if people just aren’t paying attention or are playing dumb for clicks. James Gunn *DID* debunk this. He said it on Horowitz podcast (which made Horowitz question and framing much less appropriate.) He then said it on Threads when they announced the Clayface movie. Then Matt Reeves said it to Horowitz at the Globes. Now Andy is saying it. Everyone is consistent. The Batman is not folding into the DCU. There aren’t even any credible reports that he is. You’ve had a consistent answer for literally years now.
I loved the Flash. I think its extremely entertaining, funny and rewatchable. I was happy to hear that he was directing the Batman movie. I hated Ezra before that movie but he was great in it. CGI didn't bother me like it bothers some people. CGI always looks fake to me in every movie and ive just accepted it.
I’m GREEDY so I’d love two different Batman movies. Although I don’t think Reeves should get a third Batman film because he’s too slow. I don’t buy Jeff Sneider’s narrative about “audiences will be confused by two different Batmans”
i honestly have no idea if audiences are too stupid to tell one batman from the other especially if they make them look different. like dcu batman has blue and grey maybe
I think general audiences would be confused but they also wouldn't care necessarily as long as the movies were good. When Rogue One was coming out, I still remember my aunt seeing the trailer and asking me if Jyn was Rey. A lot of audiences aren't that dialed in like we are
Can we all just tweet at James Gunn and tell him to keep the Batman separate. I love it but keep it over there I will see 2 different Batman movies don’t worry about it.
Man they spent some money on that Skeleton Crew..... unfortunately it's been spent on a show that's all style over substance, has about as much edge as a round rubber ball. Definitely one for the kids, but are kids even watching Star Wars anymore?
I just still don’t understand why people think it doesn’t fit for Patterson to be the DCU Batman. The definitive origins of Batman and Superman after crisis on infinite earth were Frank Miller’s Batman year one and John Burns Man of steel somehow everyone was able to buy them living in the same universe. Universes are huge with a lot of different tones good writing can make anything work. Trying to manage two separate Batman film franchises at the same time only causes more complications and delays for both. If the Batman part two bombs, it’s going to affect the brave and the bold. The smartest play is to merge Pattinson in the DCU just because the Batman doesn’t mention Superman or meta humans doesn’t mean they don’t exist or not possible. The Penguin went a whole season with two tiny references to Batman that could’ve been easily missed.
it sucks bc there’s a titans script and Gunn seems to have a clear vision of older batman with damian as robin and a bat family. guessing The Batman would be a prequel??
No it’s not Ezra miller is the worst flash actor ever the suit was ugly the script was horrible the cgi was horrific. There was nothing good about that movie. It even had the fatman so no that movie was garbage
Not every movie needs a reboot. Matrix is one of them for me. Your just repeating, "The one" story all over again regardless of a different actor or take. Studio just sucks at picking movies or it's franchise for reboot. I rather see more spin off, bad or meh movie gets more reboot. Not movies that already been successfully from a creative point of view. But, movie studio is constantly about $$$ before creativity sometimes.
Whenever The Flash comes up I always feel compelled to type the following: I really enjoyed The Flash and completely understand the look that Andy was going for with the distorted images (the babies for example) during the Speed Force scenes. That said, I would have probably advised Andy against it because most audiences would most likely misinterpret it as “bad CGI” - which is exactly what ended up happening.
I think Andy tried to put a positive spin on why the cgi was bad but it didn't fly. Too bad the cgi wasn't great because it was the only hindrance to the film.
The Oscar nominations have been delayed, but I bet they’ll still be announced at the crack of dawn! That’s something that should be announced in prime time!
Did anyone watch the season finale of Creature Commandoes? Nina’s backstory broke my heart. A great series that this channel rarely mentioned. I usually don’t care about animation but I loved this.
Andy Muschietti has a lot of strengths as a director. But this is the DCU Batman. Give him the Booster Gold series. His sensibilities as a director fits that project much better. But please, Gunn needs to let him down gently, and find a better director. This is the DCU Batman for Christ sake.
Blaming Andy for the bad CGI in The Flash seems weird to me. He’s not the producer and the executive. You know studio directors don’t have full control. Management changed hands and late changes were made. That’s how you get bad CGI. That’s not his fault. Denis recently explained the reason for perfect CGI in Dune was really just down to the studio not making last minute changes. CGI is expensive and takes time. If artists aren’t given adequate time because of studio decisions you can’t hang that on the director.
Why would you want to place Pattison’s Batman. It doesn’t make sense! Why are we wasting time with this rumor mill. Gunn loves the attention right now.
Awesome show! Also think that Battinson is a big mistake…but they are really are victims of their own success with Penguin. Kristian: is AG1 still a sponsor? And if so, is your code US only? Thanks!
'What would you do if you had a billion dollars?"
"I'll tell you what I'd do, man. Two Batmans at the same time."

Move the reeves-verse to HBO high quality mini series or shows. Let the DCU Batman be in the theaters. That’s what I think will eventually happen.
That's what i've been saying
Suggestions for Storm - Jodie Turner-Smith (if not too old, Keke Palmer, Nafessa Williams or Anok Yao (if she can act). Definitely not Cynthia Erivo!
Bring Robert Patterson as permanent Batman will make put a successful franchise
Well, whoever plays Storm or any of the reboot characters in the upcoming X-men will depend on the stories and importantly, are they going for an younger X-men core group or an older X-men group.
Marvel studio will cast according to that. Cynthia Erivo will work if they go with an older X-men as she already going to hitting her 40s soon and play with with older X-men crew.
Otherwise, they will cast someone younger under 30s because they are going for the long game trilogy from these cast. Fox's X-men already had done both regardless whether they are good or not.
Why yall act like Alan Ritchson cant lose weight for a role like many other actors do for a film?🤔😑
Glad Steph and Mike are safe!
skeleton crew is next to andor for me , both different but both good star wars
Would you consider turning any new movies you miss (like Den of Thieves 2) into a reaction video for yourself and a guest?
I was against recasting T’Challa at the time and I understand their reasoning, but I’m ok with it now. I also wouldn’t mind if they go with his son, but I know many people want to see T’Challa Sr as the BP so I get it.
I don’t know why but I feel like it could work
Who are the big stars yall are talking about that MCU are hiring now as their main heroes?
My perfect Batman would be Jon Hamm (from Mad Men and Top Gun 2).
Kristian please watch Skeleton Crew with your daughter. She would love it.
I Think They Should Have Recasted For T Challa In Black Panther 2. I Like Shuri The Character, But It Was A Mistake Having Her Take Over The Mantle In Wakanda Forever.
Erivo is the worst choice I can think of for Storm.
Gabrielle union would be pretty solid as storm or megan good (even though she played in the dcu realm
Different comment, but is VIIA still a sponsor? Try using the code and it didn’t work.
Matt Reeves with direct The Batman II. Then his universe will be over, and they will start fresh on The Brave and The Bold. They cant wait till 2031 to start the DCU batman.
Cynthia Would be the worst casting for Storm ever. WTF.
Isn't the Flash cinematographer doing Superman 😩
Robert is too young to be the father of Damian who has also had Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake as robin. Speculation exists that Josh Brolin is either Darkseid or Batman. Josh is old enough to play the Batman of The Brave and the Bold storyline. I also think that Robert is too thin to play The Batman of Earth Prime. My thinking is also that Gunn wants an older Batman so that it might not be too long before we get to Batman Beyond.
I got banned on X for 12 hours because I put up a video of kermit the frog jumping off a building.
Yes a puppet.
I genuinely can’t tell if people just aren’t paying attention or are playing dumb for clicks.
James Gunn *DID* debunk this. He said it on Horowitz podcast (which made Horowitz question and framing much less appropriate.)
He then said it on Threads when they announced the Clayface movie.
Then Matt Reeves said it to Horowitz at the Globes.
Now Andy is saying it.
Everyone is consistent. The Batman is not folding into the DCU. There aren’t even any credible reports that he is.
You’ve had a consistent answer for literally years now.
Naomi ackie as storm would be great
I loved the Flash. I think its extremely entertaining, funny and rewatchable. I was happy to hear that he was directing the Batman movie. I hated Ezra before that movie but he was great in it. CGI didn't bother me like it bothers some people. CGI always looks fake to me in every movie and ive just accepted it.
I loved the first 2 seasons of the Flash, 3rd was ok just to see the flashpoint paradox story play out and season 4 onwards was just trash.
Agreed. General audiences wouldn't be confused. All general audiences want is a good movie with a good story.
I just can't see Reeves' Batman rolling into Metropolis in his muscle car and taking on a kaiju.
@@Kyle_Leinen listening to nirvana getting ready to fight some aliens and kaiju’s😂
I don't want Andy Muschietti anywhere near Batman after The Flash. The movie was terrible.
Flash is great
@@IndianaJake Say that to the CGI babies
@@chrisjherman so some shotty cgi makes a whole movie terrible? weird..
No it’s not Ezra miller is the worst flash actor ever the suit was ugly the script was horrible the cgi was horrific. There was nothing good about that movie. It even had the fatman so no that movie was garbage
Rbj lol tropic thunder verse
PS2 cutscene aesthetic was a bad choice
So do I. Just rewatched Flash the other night and I still love that movie
Lol cant believe Mike really got blocked from Twitter. That killed me
The Oscar nominations have been delayed, but I bet they’ll still be announced at the crack of dawn!
That's a great shout. If Flanagan isn't going to direct the Clayface script that he wrote, I'd trust Andy.
If artists aren’t given adequate time because of studio decisions you can’t hang that on the director.
dune is boring ... the movie look great
Skeleton Crew sucks. They should’ve recast T’Challa in the last movie.
Why does her voice has to be so damn loud? She doesn’t even say anything interesting.
Why would you want to place Pattison’s Batman. It doesn’t make sense! Why are we wasting time with this rumor mill. Gunn loves the attention right now.
what did Gunn do?
Awesome show! Also think that Battinson is a big mistake…but they are really are victims of their own success with Penguin.
Kristian: is AG1 still a sponsor? And if so, is your code US only? Thanks!
Still a sponsor yes! I think it is outside US but take a look!
Hahaha, Kalinowski, let me introduce you to the subreddit, /catswhoyell 😄
