Main event is now underway folks. This is cool
Competitive Pokemon Singles has now peaked with the beginning of Jimvitational. An incredible invite-only Gen 3 OU tournament featuring the best of the best.
Who is the best in ADV OU? Who will utilize Skarmory, Tyranitar or even Camerupt? Some will never figure all that out.
Not to spoil, but the raticate special offense team with arbok defense support is pretty wild. You do NOT want to miss this one folks!

Its a pretty standard team, not sure what was wild about it. If anything the following game with the mono ground mirror match was the crazy one.

unlucky to sapienta for the second freeze g1, i think bold jirachi was pretty favoured from there to toxic things and win - since he revealed no heal bell on celebi, But you cant deny it mattered. Tbolt para from the mag was pretty relevant to - there were extra protects i couldn't take that due to para chance - cant risk it vs the mag for example between tbolts, it only increases my chances of him getting a full para and 3 hitting jira with tbolt. So some luck on both sides.
I do think bold jirachi without paralysis on it cleans this up well - as it takes 70% ish from CB eq and less than 50% from pert eq so can just stay in and toxic vs them both, put them on that timer, and then easily heal up later on the celebi because celebi was running out of leeches.

The baton pass into Dug to trap the resting snorlax was crazy.
That game 1 endgame was really challenging to figure out, honestly very educational to watch watermess turn a won game into a finished game. I know I would not have navigated it as well as he did

Imagine winning an entire tournament, and then losing a single set to a bunch of crits and two freezes 😭
If someone has a custom avatar with Urshifu on it I imagine they use it a lot where it's available and to those people I feel like every bit of unlucky rng rolls is earned given the unfairness this stupid bear mechanics.
PS: also, even though the freeze on Swampert was unfortunate, the match by then already was much more in favor of watermess to win.
