I'm sorry that happened to you. It's okay to spar with a guy who's bigger and more experienced but they're supposed to take it easier on someone new. The gym owner at my muay thai gym wanted to fight in a muay thai bout. She said the training for the fight was so intense that she actually started crying. So don't feel embarrassed that you cried. The guy you were sparring with also should have thrown softer shots to the head since you didn't have a mouth guard. You should feel proud of yourself for not starting to smoke again. Anyway just take it day by day. Nice video btw.
My coach told me everyone in that gym has cried before, def made me feel better about it after 😅 but yes, the training is very intense. Thank you for your comment 🙏
I once went to a karate tournament and absolutely killed it...and by that I mean I lost in the first round after getting a roundhouse kick by a girl that left me looking like a grandma with a walking cane
Very relatable experience. You learn a lot about yourself. I cried during sparring with strong opponent too. But protect yourself from concussion at all cost. It may stop you from doing any contact sport.
Going back to sparring or fighting after a concussion can be life threatning, check with your doctor. Secondly, sparring with other beginners or with a person who is not considorate about ones health is a big no no and many end up at the ER because of beginner spaz especially when they are much strong and bigger. I have injured my thumb for 5 months just from someone moving their feet sideways a little bit because they were a giant. Thirdly, it is always OK to stop when one is uncomfortable in any and all cases in all scenarios. Fourthly, if one is a beginner then it is the coaches and responsibility that people are comfortable and learning at their pace so it should be OK to ask the coach to pair you with people of same size and or body type. Lastly, overtraining so many times a day takes a toll on the body and it needs time to heal. Remember it is OK to feel all these feelings and it is OK to take a break and most people have to go the ego death as you put it. It might be refreshing because when that happens then one can start to think more about ones health instead of pushing ones self too hard because of ones inflated ego. You did good. Keep it up, step back, evaluate and then take it from there. You got this. (Btw i have no idea how this video got in to my youtube feed, oh well.)
